The hotel is located in a quiet side street to the beach promenade. We had a friendly, warm welcome with a delicious fruit juice and refreshing towels. The hotel's inner courtyard has a lovely garden with exotic plants. The room was spacious, clean and practically equipped. We didn't have any bedsheets to cover ourselves with. Surely we would have been given some if we had asked, but we didn't notice until we went to bed. One criticism: The water in the washbasin and the shower drained away poorly after using. For dinner and breakfast you can choose from a menu of different dishes, including authentic Sri Lankan food. It was very tasty.

A fantastic stay at this nice hotel. The food was great, the staff was extremely friendly and from the hotel we could go around Negombo. The hotel also has a nice pool area and is situated around aa small nicely kept garden. A perfect start or finish to a Sri Lanka holiday.

The Morning Star Resort had the task of giving us our first impression of Sri Lanka, and boy did it succeed in it! The rooms have airconditioning, clean bathrooms and spaceous beds, and the hotel has a nice swimming pool in which you can relax and cool down after a long hot day. However, above all, the staff is very friendly and the manager is really invested in the hotel. It was also always nice to eat inside the hotel, with a chef who always made sure that everything was perfect, whilst sometimes coming over to have a chitchat! Job really well done!

We experienced a very friendly and helpfull staff. The rooms are situated in a beautiful environment. Food was authentic and very nice, Garden around which rooms were situated was well maintained and looking beautiful. Swimmingpool was a plus!

A beautiful and peaceful place close to the beach of Negombo. Extremely friendly and hospitable people, and super delicious food. It is a small and cozy accommodation (not a huge tourist complex). If you enjoy personal attention and don't like too much hustle and bustle, this is the place to be. Green garden, comfortabel rooms and a nice swimming pool.

Overall Our stay at Morning Star Resort was excellent. The combination of delicious food, clean and comfortable rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere, along with the attentive and friendly staff, made for a truly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend, and thank you for a wonderful stay!

As we stepped out of our van, the strong smell of drying fish hit us HAARRRRD… At the end of a narrow road was Morning Star. We were met with a warm welcome and smiling faces that appeared grateful for our patronage. A refreshing drink, a flower for our hair and we were checked in efficiently. The room was basic but clean and the linen provided was of a high standard. The bathroom was modern and very clean. COVID appears to have affected this beautiful little hotel in terms of its restaurant, with only a limited offering but what we ate was lovely. The arrangement with the local spa is wonderful and highly recommended! If you’re in Negombo give this one a go.

Basic but clean, air conditioned rooms with comfy beds and a decent bathroom. Small but clean pool with sun loungers and plenty of shade if you need it. Catering is fairly basic but staff are very willing to serve you at any time..The best thing about this place is the very friendly and super helpful staff. This is not 5 star but it is staffed by great people and is clean and comfortable and great value for money. We would stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Morning Star Resort. Despite our plans changing last minute, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. They arranged an airport pick up as well as an early check in. The staff allowed us to use their phones to contact other hotels for the rest of our trip in Sri Lanka. The pool area was so relaxing with a beautiful scenery. The hotel even provided us with extra towels for the pool along with a nice cold orange juice from their menu. The beds were super comfy and the air conditioning was great. Plenty of space in the room with a nice hot shower. The room rate included a delicious morning breakfast to give us the best start for a day ahead of travelling. Overall a great stay and one we would definitely recommend. Thank you to all the staff for being so friendly, welcoming and helpful. We hope to stay here again soon if we ever come back to Sri Lanka!
