The Jane Hotel

Completely unacceptable to receive clients in that conditions, pictures talk by themselves. If you want to participate to the full renovation of the Jane Hotel, please apply with your credit card, you will get full price residency !

The property was an historic building with a remarkable ballroom and bar area still with incredible furnishings from its glory days. Things were a bit dingy and worn but for the most part it was acceptably clean. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The elevator would not operate if too many people were in it. Use the stares. The comp bikes apparently had been left out during pandemic closure and were no longer available. It was reminiscent of a stay in a Havana hotel.

The hotel cancel my booking, don't let me check in,it was a terrible experience. The ******* customer service not contact hotel reception successfully .

After paying for my stay and not being able to change my plans, I received an email from the hotel notifying me that there is construction in the building from 8a-4p daily. I arrived after 4p and the work was loudly continuing until at least 6:30p when I left for dinner, and it began just after 7a including workers carrying bluetooth speakers loudly playing music up and down the hallways. Additionally, they're using the elevator reserved for guests (which didn't work half the time I tried to use it), blocking the stairwell and hallways with their ladders and work, and there is construction dust EVERYWHERE. Finally, for a hotel with shared bathrooms, I was not comfortable with workers being in the same corridors as guests as we went to and from the showers. It was a horrendous experience, and not at all what was described in their notice to me. They did give me a partial refund but I want others to know before they book that this is NOT a comfortable place to stay at this time. If you have asthma like I do, I don't recommend it until they clear the construction dust. And if you value your sleep or want to rely on the hours they tell you, I don't recommend it either. Also, my room wasn't very clean? So... just a general note that it's not the best place to stay.

Is construction zone ,u should close to do renovation ..workers and dust everywhere ,then rooms are so small ,luke a little cabin train ,1 bathroo for 30 guests ??? ..take off hotel and put hostel ..as that is not an hotel ..

I love The Jane and have stayed here many times over the last decade. However, the on-going construction with workers crowding the elevators and stairways, along with most of the building in transition made it more challenging to enjoy this time.

I was informed AFTER I booked my stay that the hotel was being renovated. Rebuilt is more descriptive. Dust, plastic sheeting, noise and finally a renegade fire alarm. Never again!

At the price of $100-120 per night, this was at best a 2.5 star experience. The hotel was in active construction during our stay, which the Jane did inform us about after the booking was made, but the extent of the construction was much more than I expected - the lobby was very spare and dusty, the elevator was operational but the stairs were blocked off, and construction workers used the same bathrooms as the guests. The bunk bed room was extremely tight and cramped (basically the size of a closet), which is too small for a space for two people to put down their belongings. The bedding was clean and towels were provided, but the bunk bed felt shaky and unstable and it was difficult to climb up/down from the top bunk. This would have been worth it only if it had been $50/night rather than $100 per night.

It smells like pee in the hall. It is literally under construction with blocks and plastic wrap in parts of the halls and the lobby! At 11:30pm suddenly started a terrible noise of clanking metal for over an hour!!!. The room is the size of a 1.5 twin beds and I just hope it didn’t have some bug infestation. It was terrible! If you have any other choice, book elsewhere.
