The facilities show their age, and the thin walls were a minor concern, but for the price, it definitely exceeded our expectations. The food, in particular, was absolutely fantastic! The buffet, featuring an abundance of local Nikko ingredients, offered a wide variety of dishes, all meticulously prepared and flavorful. We thoroughly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. There were many families, creating a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel at ease even with children. I think this is the perfect hotel for a family trip to fully experience the nature of Oku-Nikko.

Great onsen facilities. Love the indoor and outdoor pools. Hotel is clean and comfortable even though it was quite old. Much to do around the hotel with good hikes. Had a great 2 nights stay here

Really enjoyed my stay, lots of locals come here. Outdoor onsen was good, buffet food was decent too (favourite was the beef!). Extra points for the massage chair which was really a good relieve after a long day. Only drawback is pillow was too small and too soft which gave me neck aches the next morning. Location a little far out from town, would need a car to get here for convenience. But overall a great stay and will come recommend!

The hot spring was really mediocre, too crowded, and had a strong body odor in the pools. The food was also subpar, rough, and of poor quality. Overall, it wasn't worth the price. I generally wouldn't consider staying here again.

It was one of my best hot spring resort experiences in Japan. Everything was perfect. Its hot spring quality was the best. I have enjoyed outdoor hot spring during a snowy early morning, which I couldn’t forget. It was so fascinating experience. Food was great and surroundings were also very beautiful. I would come back here again next summer or fall.

The hotel is quite new, and the room is very spacious. We enjoyed soaking in the hot springs at night and strolling along the Onsen street during the day. It's very close to the Yumoto Onsen Ski Resort, which was great as it was mostly locals skiing there. The only downside is that it's a bit far to get to; you have to take the bus and get off at stop number 45.

A great stay near Nikko. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the hot spring was very relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The surrounding nature was beautiful and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience and good value for money.

We love the onsen and love the lake view. Had loads of fun playing with the thick snow outside the hotel. Breakfast and dinner was same food for the two nights we stayed. Beef during dinner was good.

Overall is good in terms of food/facilities/services. Yumoto onsen bus stop is only 3mins walk away from hotel. The tatami room I stayed is spacious..just that it got smell which I believe it is due to lack of ventilation. Feel ok after i spray some air freshener.

The only drawback is that its facilities are slightly outdated, and the electrical appliances generate quite a lot of noise. Overall, the flaws do not overshadow the virtues of this hotel.
