The location of this resort is impeccable. Breathtaking view of the jungle and the hills behind. You can see deer grazing lazily from the balcony. It's also convenient for mudumalai tiger reserve safari and local safaris. The food was amazing, the chef here is eager to hear about your preferences and cater to that as much as possible being limited by supplies in a remote location. The spread in the buffet is also good. The staff here is really helpful and takes great care of the guests. The front office helped us arrange vehicles for early morning safari. Be aware that the traffic movement is restricted between 9 pm and 6 am before reaching masinagudi by the forest department, so you have to reach here before 9 and can leave after 6 am only.

The resort has an excellent view. The staff was quite friendly and catered to our every request diligently. Food was good as well, and had a homely vibe to it. The family villa that we booked was clean and spacious.

Located at a very calm and silent environment, the stay is good with a beautiful view of tea estate and mountains from the balcony(not a private balcony. The room is cozy for a 2 people stay. Food provided is delicious and charged separately. The manager and the staffs are very supportive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this place.

VVijayakumar G AFirstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

PPengguna TetamuHotel location is good......Common areas are well maintained however the rooms are not as reflected in photograph on the website....Restaurant is not well ***aged although the staff is good but I feel there is a lot of scope for improvement. ...Buffet breakfast is good....Biryani taste was good....Food in general was good...Had to wait for more than 30 minutes for the hotel staff to transfer my luggage from room during checkout.....There was a lot of difference between the price as mentioned on trip.com and directly with hotel.....Trip.com was less for the same Privilege Suite....

requesting to have breakfast during waiting time ( which looked liked a good gesture coz breakfast time was almost over and why to waste food but later asking to pay ( which should had been informed priorly )

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Carnation in Ooty from Tuesday to today, and I must say it was an exceptional experience! I had booked two **Standard Rooms** for my family — one for my wife and kids and the other for my parents. Both rooms were impeccably maintained, equipped with all the necessary amenities, including clean bedding, comfortable mattresses, blankets, pillows, wardrobes, soap, shampoo, a TV with cable channels, hot water for bathing, drinking water, and sufficient charging points.
The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of Mr. Maridass, the hotel owner. He was not only extremely friendly and approachable but also went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He and his team were prompt in arranging cabs for sightseeing at very reasonable rates and also helped us with food orders from nearby restaurants whenever we needed.
One incident that truly touched our hearts was when my father suffered a minor injury. Mr. Maridass immediately came to our aid, providing aftershave lotion to stop the bleeding and a band-aid to treat the wound. His promptness and care made all the difference and showed his genuine concern for his guests.
Overall, Hotel Carnation offers not just a comfortable stay but also a memorable experience, thanks to the outstanding service provided by Mr. Maridass and his team. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ooty and looking for a warm, family-friendly place to stay. This is hospitality at its finest!
