Moon Palace Jamaica

This resort was alright, gift shops were very expensive. A lot of things would ran out for example at the Cafe no tall glasses, no macarons here and not a lot of icecream flavors. Restaurants would also ran out of items. Beach was swimmable calm water. Beware of Jellyfish there’s a lot of people being stung. Drinks was good too, but make sure you ask for liquor in your drink. Because most of the time they don’t put alcohol. Spa was awesome with very good attitude staff. I mentioned that the spa staff had good attitude, because most of the staff aren’t very nice. Also this hotel wasn’t very accommodating to their guests. I saw more than 3 families with different complaints and wasn’t happy with the service. And all wasn’t resolved. I too wasn’t happy with my room and the pricing were not correct on spa services. Online price spa app ($184.00) was different from the paper($189.00) they present to you when they sit you down for more scams of upgrades. A different price at the salon ($200.00) itself. Of course they didn’t honor the lowest price. Charge me $200.00 minus the credit plus the 16% .

Do NOT be deceived by the misleading pictures! This so-called waterpark is a complete joke—it consists of a single slide. The food is far below mediocre, and the sushi bar is a disgrace, offering just four options, one of which is literally a "California roll with just cream cheese." From the moment we arrived, we were bombarded with aggressive upselling. Our original reservation was for a room with a balcony, but suddenly, they "couldn't fulfill it" unless we paid an extra $260 for another balcony room. When that one mysteriously disappeared, they pushed us to pay $400 extra for an ocean-view balcony—only to "lose" that one too! In the end, the only available option was a honeymoon suite for an outrageous $1,300—a blatant, predatory scam. To make matters worse, the level of indifference here is appalling. When my husband injured his thumb and went to the nurse's station, they refused to provide a bandage—even when he offered to pay by credit card or room charge. This was, without a doubt, the worst Caribbean experience we've ever had. Avoid this place at all costs!

I never stayed in Ocho Rios before Moon Palace, and I believe this was the best hotel to start with. As far as family enjoyment, this hotel is primetime. It has many activities and amenities for families to enjoy. The hot churros and fresh coconut water were well received by my friends. The hotel had everything you can imagine. The spa is to die for. I appreciate Tennelle taking good care of me for my hydrotherapy. I also enjoyed Johnoy's water aerobics and daily workout sessions. He was a great trainer to help burn off all that food you eat. Overall amazing trip, just wish the bathroom was bigger and room was more plush for the price I paid. I've stayed at hotels at Negril and Montego and my rooms were more luxurious for price.

Pros: The highlight of our 7 day stay was the people. Specifically Ann Marie and Shellisa in Bucaneer’s Reef. We looked forward to seeing them every day for breakfast and lunch. Superb service. David, the manager, was always available and checked in to make sure our visit was excellent. Also, Stacy Ann helped us with dinner at La Gondola. She provided excellent service and was very attentive. We met her last year when we stayed and were happy to see her again. Cons: property is getting tired. Many of the public restrooms - bathroom stalls do not lock (broken) and tp holders are hanging loose. Other minor cosmetic things around that have been overlooked by maintenance. Overall, the people that work here are what made our stay memorable.

Moon Palace resort is the worst resort I have EVER stayed in. Upon coming on to the property it looks more like a motel on the outside instead of a supposed 5 star resort and the outside could really use a facelift and a fresh coat of paint. When checking in the process started off seamless however, when we went to go to our room after a 4 hour flight and 2 hour bus trip there we realize the room is currently being occupied. We then have to go back downstairs and advise we were double booked and asked if we could be accommodated in someway or another for the inconvenience. The "manager" at the front didn't say many words to us and instead took us to a side room where I we talked to this manager about our experience. We asked for an upgraded room and were told that they do not give upgrades under any circumstances and that he would do a "problem report" and would remedy this situation tomorrow morning by 9am. We never received a call nor an email the entire stay about a remedy but as we were there for a wedding and with friends we honestly forgot to follow up with that. Secondly, the rooms are honestly just terrible. They are smaller than rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott or the La Quinta Inn and the bathroom were a smidge bigger than a cruise bathroom. The bathrooms literally make no sense as the door opens in versus out which makes it awkward when you are getting out the bathroom. Additionally, the toilet is separate from the shower and sink which is fine but the door is just a sliding door that often got stuck. The door to the bathroom was also vented which didn't make sense to me because you could smell every time someone decided to do a #2 (even with a courtesy flush and poopouri being sprayed). I also didn't like how they just had a line where you could hang your washcloth which didn't look like it had been switched out or cleaned in forever and was various colors. I don't think that it's very sanitary to have that be where people put their wash clothes and because of that we had to constantly request for many wash cloths every single time we showered and washed our face which was multiple times a day. You have to reserve to eat at a few different restaurants which is fine but if you don't cancel within two hours you get a $25 charge which I think is insane being as though I paid a lot of money already to stay at the establishment but I had no problem paying it because that was clear on the app. However, when we go to check out they have TWO no shows on there and said that we had to pay $50 which I said no I only had one reservation. I also asked since the room being double booked the first day was never remedied could we get the fee waived and they said no. But did "waive" one fee when I showed them I only booked one reservation. It seems to me this place continuously tries to "nickel and dime" you for EVERYTHING. Also the "Momo" Hibachi restaurant was TERRIBLE and was not a typical hibachi experience, the sushi was nasty and they didn't

O lugar é bonito, ainda estou hospedado e fiz up grade de suíte para varanda do. Vista para o mar. Tive sérios problemas com a arrumação de quarto e atendimento da recepção. Meu quarto passou o dia inteiro sem ser arrumado e como estou com criança pedi suporte para arrumarem, mas não o fizeram adequadamente. Como não fui respondido fiz a mesma reclamação pelo Instagram deles e foi apagado minutos depois. Não é um local barato e por esse valor costumo ir a resorts de melhor qualidade que sugiro considerarem antes de fechar com o Moon Palace.
