PPengguna TetamuA fantastic hotel with beautiful architecture and wooden detailing. Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Free yoga in the morning on the rooftop and a walking tour is provided upon request. The rooms are large with lots of light. The bathroom is functional with good water pressure. For winter, an electric blanket, portable heater and hot water bottles are supplied. Delicious and well priced breakfast. Amazing value for money.

PPengguna TetamuThe Hotel Barahi Kathmandu is in a great location, walking distance to great souvenirs in Thamal, tourist sites like the Garden of Dreams and the former Royal Palace.
The hotel staff were so friendly, engaging and helpful. The hotel has a pool up on level 7 with great views of Kathmandu. The only flaw with the pool is it is surrounded by the restaurant, so no one swims in it.
I had a suite the room was beautiful, very happy with the cleanliness and room service. The only flaw with the room is that it backed on to the service area for staff who were all working very hard, but there was banging and clanging all night and morning.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was greeted with warm smiles and refreshing drinks. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and offered a stunning view — every detail was thoughtfully arranged for comfort and relaxation.
The hotel’s amenities exceeded my expectations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a wide selection of fresh, flavorful options to suit every taste. The housekeeping team maintained everything perfectly throughout my stay. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the excellent Wi-Fi connection, making it ideal for both leisure and work.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the level of hospitality. Every team member went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay — from recommending local attractions to assisting with transportation.
Overall, this hotel combines luxury, comfort, and genuine care in the best way possible. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and can’t wait to return again soon!

PPengguna TetamuThe skyline restaurant is the best at sunset in this hotel. They have a transparent glass floor to watch everything under your feet. Many locals also get dressed up and come here to enjoy the million-dollar-worthy sight. You can also enjoy the buffet breakfast at the same restaurant if staying here.
I used the swimming pool and sauna on 9 floor. The staff there are very attentive and friendly. Feel like a queen being there!
The room is super clean and smell nice! I am amazed by the A.C. System. Believe me that’s very rare to find in Kathmandu!
All is very good from the beginning of check-in and till the end. They have free drop-off transportation to airport. So I would highly recommend to book the last nights in Nepal and enjoy a relaxing evening of here!

PPengguna TetamuThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it.
Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out.
At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service!
Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on.
I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw!
Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome.
All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return.
As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

PPengguna Tanpa NamaLocation is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.

PPengguna TetamuI stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.

PPengguna Tetamu酒店服務非常專業，早餐豐富，前台服務熱情周到。説要水，很快就送來了。而且酒店裡面有電吹風，洗澡熱水非常舒適。
很多中國人到其他地方找中餐吃，結果發現最正宗的中餐在酒店樓上九層。而且這裏的巧克力布朗尼，非常正宗。原本應該是和冰淇淋一起吃，我提出來要吃熱的，酒店立即做了熱呼呼的冰激凌。酒店旁邊有個加德滿都最大的農貿市場，6個大蘋果，衹要不到20元人民幣。這裏什麼蔬菜水果都能買到。
因為加德滿都經常堵車，如果銜接航班，酒店離機場很近，這又是一大優勢。
