Good location for first or last night in Edinburgh. That, plus the friendly staff, were the high points. Beds were comfortable, nice teas in room and was very clean. It didn’t get a 5 as the carpets were very worn and really not a 5 star facility. Suspect the dining would have been very good. We stopped for tea and dessert in the evening during a loud wedding celebration and found it to be excellent with nice presentation. We left early so missed the breakfast. Try the sticky taffy pudding.

We've stayed here regularly while visiting relatives locally. All of our stays have been good generally, but this was slightly different in that the hotel was much busier than we've experienced before over the weekend we stayed, with two weddings. It was interesting to see how all the staff coped well with lots of guests but still found the time to provide a good, personal service to those staying over. The rooms as always were comfortable and, importantly, quiet with no noticeable 'party' noise. Food again was excellent with all meals (dinner and breakfast) cooked to order. Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed and dined at The Craigie for one night on our way through to see Rosslyn Chapel and the Scottish Borders. We had a fabulous stay in a beautiful and comfortable room! We stayed in a deluxe room with gorgeous high ceilings, luxurious linens, a beautifully modernized bathroom, and an outdoor terrace. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, and our dinner at the Craigie went above and beyond superb! This was our first stop on our vacation after my husband's meeting in Glasgow, and our wonderful experience there really set the tone for the entire trip. A special thank you to the front desk manager who helped us with a bus to Rosslyn Chapel when we were unable to get a taxi that morning! We made it in time for our ticket slot and had a great tour. Oh, and breakfast the next morning was another delicious treat! This wonderfully unique hotel is not far from Edinburgh and definitely worth an overnight stay if you're visiting Rosslyn Chapel or heading south to the Scottish Borders.

Stayed for 3 nights dbb lovely spacious comfortable room. Breakfast + starters were excellent unfortunately main meals a bit lack lustre ? a different chef. Staff all friendly + attentive. Only complaint we were on top floor + could hear a fan or something running management said it was the boiler + it would stop overnight unfortunately it didn't it was running 24/7 so disturbed our sleep 😕 perhaps this needs checking we were in room 17 (apartment) . Good location + easy access into Edinburgh via park + ride or as we discovered afterwards same P+R bus actually had a stop in Pencuick which cld have walked to ! .Would defn stay here again .

We needed to stay a couple of nights in/near Penicuik for a family wedding 13/14sept/24. Craigie turned out to be perfectly matched to our needs. Comfortable, peaceful/quiet, good food, good value for money, clean, high quality room/bathroom furnishing. The staff team we encountered were quite young but generally attentive and efficient and appeared to be working well together as a happy team - we suspect that they are being given good guidance by someone in the management team. So, we left feeling, that this is somewhere we would positively want to stay again, compared with our typical UK hotel stays, where we tend to feel 'well that was OK but might look at alternatives next time'.

My friends and I had afternoon tea here today courtesy of the Craigie after a very disappointing experience last time when we felt it was just not up to scratch. However, today was a very different experience altogether with a great selection of sandwiches, very tasty sausage rolls, lovely scones with cream and jam and a really nice selection of cakes. Tea and coffee were plentiful, too, and the service was excellent, we were very well looked after. This more than made up for last time which should have been a birthday treat for me from my friend. We left more than happy today, thank you.

Attended a family wedding at The Craigie Hotel on 2nd August 2024. This place is a gem, from the rooms, the food and most importantly the staff were superb. Nothing was too much trouble and the attetion to detail was excellent. It's rare that I feel the need to write a review but when you expierience something as special as this then I felt it was right that it's recognised as a truly special hotel.

Lovely stay at Craigie Hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel rang prior to visit to check if we required twin or double bed, to ensure it was make up to our requirements. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was ready. Room spacious and well decorated with coffee machine, fridge and water. Great night sleep and a delicious Scottish breakfast. Very. Pleased with our stay, thank you.

Sleep quality was the best. The room was spotless and quiet. Beddings, towels, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, furniture, bathroom fixtures were all of highest quality and designed or chosen thoughtfully. Plenty of parking spaces were available. Hotel grounds were well kept. We didn't use the beer garden but we could see other guests were enjoying it. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with huge options, cooked or prepared to perfection. I tried hard to find a fault but I can't find any. Well done Craigie Hotel!
