Laqua by the Lake

The hotel is located in a beautiful position, very close to Lake Orta. The welcome was very warm and friendly, the room was very clean and with all necessary. I highly recommend the hotel to all the guests that want to enjoy some days of relax.

Excellent choice to spend a few days at the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast options. Various water sport activities. Nice little gym. Spacious suite with sufficient space for the whole family. Tried dinner once - it was good but had too much of a French cuisine twist for our taste. Overall recommendable and better value for money than the 5 star hotels at Como lake.

What an absolutely sublime place to spend a few days. We stayed in a lake front suite, which combined beautiful contemporary interiors, sumptuous comfort and the most magical view. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and everything we tried was delightful, and catered well for our vegetarian diet. We ate in the restaurant twice and had two innovative, creative and utterly delicious meals in the most bucolic of settings. We had a perfect day swimming in the divine pool and took an electric boat out on the lake which was magical, especially as we could hear the sounds of birdsong and the lapping of the water out on the lake as the electric motor was virtually silent. The only disappointing thing about Laqua by the Lake was having to leave. We will certainly return and cannot recommend this simply superlative hotel enough.

This place is just fantastic, we have returned 3 years in a row. From the gentleman who greets as we parked the car, later appearing with swim floats and suggests a SUP on the Lake to Lewis at breakfast who appears with coffee and entertains the kids to the Reception staff who deal with every request swiftly and easily… this place is simply fantastic.

We had the most beautiful stay at L’aqua; the staff were fantastic, especially Gabriel & Nichola poolside, who were so friendly & helpful. The boat ride and paddle boarding were fantastic, as were our lunches by the water.

My 24 anniversary disappointment! Be aware of what you book and where you book this hotel - made the mistake to book this hotel through Hyatt - I booked a 2 room lake view and got a 1 bedroom - I had to collect proof of what I booked to present to management like a court case , showing a 2 room and came to learn that a 2 room does not mean 2 bedroom but a 1 bedroom - and at check in was charged an additional €200 for my 2 kids for one night , even though I paid in advance to save - this was supposed to be my 24 anniversary celebration in Italy and it was the most anxious situation … the hotel instead of fixing my problem (manager Mr DelGatto) told me to go to Hyatt to fix it - they just completely removed themselves from the responsibility which I find extremely unprofessional! Instead I was offered a boat ride as a “kind” gesture for my inconvenience! I find that very offensive ! I don’t recommend this hotel - there are plenty of amazing places around this area where you will get a 5 star treatment and not be disappointed or feel unwelcome! I’ve traveled the world (over 70 countries) and have NEVER been treated by management like this - completely removing themselves and not fixing my problem in house ! I won’t recommend this place to any of my clients and friends !

After a long day of travel by car, bus and train, we arrived at Laqua with a gracious host telling us, now is the time you relax. I immediately took a deep breath and felt at home. The accommodations were comfortable and serene and the location impeccable. Luis deserves a special shout out as he treated us like family and really took care of our every need - he is a gem! The restaurant was beyond our expectations. We could have stayed here happily, much longer. This is a true retreat of luxury.

I have stayed in many hotels across the world, from Tokyo to New York, San Francisco to Cape Town, from Hilton to Marriott to Radisson, boutique hotels, and family-run bed and breakfasts. However, it would be incredibly difficult to beat L’aqua by the Lake. Needless to say, the location dramatically helps, offering a fantastic view over the lake. What this hotel provides is a combination of five-star service wrapped up in a boutique hotel experience, with some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. From management to cleaners, waiting staff to reception, and the guy who gave you your pool towels, the warmth and willingness to do anything to make your stay perfect was frankly mind-blowing. Despite only spending six days at L’aqua by the Lake, it felt like we were there much longer. The rooms are excellent and offer great versatility, including not just a bedroom but also an area with a very well-equipped kitchen, a fantastic sizable bathroom with all the touches you would expect, and a lot more. It felt incredibly homely and comfortable. The hotel itself, as mentioned, has an absolutely fantastic pool and an equally impressive beach area. The restaurant, especially for breakfast, was top quality, with eggs cooked to your liking upon request. The buffet was not the typical hotel fare; it was excellent quality and homemade. We had two dinners during our stay, which were exceptional and deserving of a Michelin star. The location of the hotel is also quite good. Unlike some of the other Italian lakes, it is a lot quieter and less busy. There are two restaurants in close vicinity, including a Delicatessens, just a three-minute walk away, which provided all your Italian cheeses and meats. There is also a supermarket a ten-minute walk away. I would recommend having a car, as it makes getting around much easier. However, the hotel can organise a taxi with an excellent driver who provided great recommendations for eateries in the town itself. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to couples and families alike, and we will definitely be returning
