The Cape

BEWARE!!!! My friends and I booked two rooms on June 25 to celebrate their anniversary on July 19 for one night. They sent both of a text message 3 days before our arrival that they cancelled our reservation because they had a wedding. How is this even allowed? Unacceptable business practice with a couldn’t care less attitude to go with it! I followed up with an email that no one even bothered to respond to. That says a lot about how you run your business. If you care where you spend your money and you want the reassurance that your confirmed reservation means something then DO NOT book here. We were lucky to find a last minute opening at Cribs on Main for the same money and it was spectacular, modern, great location and best of all they valued us as a customer. I will most certainly return where I am welcome.

Attended the Haley wedding and this down town spot in Picton is excellent. Thanks to Elizabeth and staff. Made the event for this special day stressless. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Booked the entire venue for several nights. Wedding party was able to stay and prepare with out travel. Meal was fabulous. Live music by the Fare Side. Ideal spot for any venue.

We enjoyed at wonderful midweek stay at The CAPE in Picton during August. We were able to check-in a little early which was much appreciated as for a single night stay, it gave us more time to explore the local area. We stayed in the Cary Grant Suite, which was large and well lit with a very comfortable bed. The mini fridge has a sampling of some local beverages in addition to amazing coffee and tea. The historic building and grounds are beautiful. We felt rather 'high brow' staying in such a fine and fancy historic building. The hostess that greeted us was very warm and friendly, and gelpful with respect to local restaurant and winery tour locations. Given that we only had a one night stay, we chose to skip the tours and just walk all around the town, looking at all the beautiful homes, trying local restaurants and pubs and just enjoying the area. The mid-week rate was more than fair for such a beautiful Inn. We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to family and friends. If staying in the area, give The CAPE a try. You won't regret it.

Staying at The Cape was a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked through the front door we were transported to a world of beauty and elegance that we have never before experienced in PEC. Modern luxurious comfort exists within an envelope of formal historical architecture, with incredibly high ceilings, original huge windows and intricate woodwork. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor suite, aptly named for its beauty and glamour. It included a dressing area and a gorgeous marble-clad bathroom. My back was very grateful for the extremely comfortable bed and the collection of pillows with various levels of firmness. We were warmly welcomed by Kaylee who also served us breakfast at a romantic table for two located in a charming and private window alcove just outside our suite. The delicious breakfast included fresh fruit, still warm from the oven croissants, smoked salmon, waffles and much more. The location is a 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Main St. which allowed both of us the freedom to appreciate the wonderful PEC wines with dinner. I would highly recommend The Cape to anyone who craves a bit of glamour in their lives - even if just for the weekend!

The CAPE is magnificent! It is so much more than a venue, it is a space that has the potential for so much more than just weddings. I walk in the front door and I am thrown back over a hundred years, but never feel like it's "old or stuffy", you feel the class and you feel the love that was put into the design elements. The staff are incredible, they go above and beyond just making your stay welcome. They are truly committed to curating each minute you spend in PEC from even before you arrive until you depart. This place is a dream come true and I hope you enjoy your experience as much as we did.

Beautifully renovated spot that has been very thoughtfully redone. Combines modern hotel amenities and expectations while ensuring the spirit of the heritage structure is persevered. Rooms are big and comfortable. Centrally located near all the restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoyed my stay there a lot!

Large room with huge windows for natural lighting. The breakfast in the morning is delicious and healthy, with lots of fruit and cheese. Takes roughly 2 minutes to walk to the main street where all the restaurants are. I enjoyed my stay!

The CAPE is very special. The house is historic but is renovated perfectly. The history of the house is well respected, but at the same time renovated beautifully. Nothing is overdone. And we stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor suite which was perfect. A blend of old and new, and so comfortable. The bathroom is stunning! And Belinda, who takes care of everything set up a beautiful breakfast outside our suite in a private little nook next to our suite. And then you step outside and you're on Main Street, 2 minutes from the centre of Picton.

Our first visit to the region, we selected Cape Hotel as it was interesting Georgian Building. We have received fantastic welcome, despite of being out of season. GM could not do more to ensure our stay was very special. Room was of great proportion, large, with very comfortable large bed. Well appointed with lovely big bathroom. Little kitchen offered wines, snacks, water, tea, coffee facilities which we felt was very generous. As their chef was on well deserved holiday we received vouchers to be used in The Royal Hotel, located only few hundred metres away. This we did not expect but welcomed it. If we return to this region we will certainly stay at Cape. Small hotel but perfect for what we needed. Thank you Craig and his team. B
