On arrival we where dropped off on the main road outside the hotel which wasn’t even a 2 min walk didn’t really bother us we where then given a room key not card to our hotel room which took us a while to find, our door was a balcony door which felt unsafe as anyone could see into the room. The room was very small and squished same goes for the bathroom. After my partner had a shower there was a really bad smell coming from the drains so we opened the patio door and bathroom window (which led to a wall and not anywhere outside) after we slept in the room and went down for breakfast we came back up and the smell was still there so we requested a room transfer which was granted. I couldn’t fault our 2nd room it was 10 times nicer than the first nice and big same for the bathroom everything was a lot more modern we didn’t even mind that we didn’t have a balcony although even though we requested a double bed the beds where 2 single beds pushed together. Bar staff and reception staff were very nice the entire stay but I found the restaurant staff to be a bit rude in rushing you out during breakfast I even had a full plate of breakfast taken away while I went to go get myself a drink!. Pool was absolutely freezing and the beach wasn’t the nicest in the world unless you like a pebbly beach. The hotel is right beside a church and no exaggeration whatsoever the bell goes off every 15 mins! Until 11pm at night! And around 6pm the bell would ring constantly for at least 1-2 minutes Overall our stay was okay but the hotel was more a 2 star than 3

I always read reviews before booking hotels so i'm adding our experience! We had booked a 3 night, 4 day stay for our wedding anniversary - The hotel was lovely and clean, fresh towels everyday, staff friendly. We had bed and breakfast, our room was a double with a single bed extra so we had pleanty of room, bathroom with a bath and shower over, small balcony over looking a little street, all perfect for us. Breakfast was really nice and tasty, we also had one evening meal in the hotel which we found nice and quite reasonable. We also ate at the pool bar couple of times, food was nice. Used the swimming pool twice during our stay, cold but nice pool. Very peaceful sitting around the pool or near the bar, the clock chimes were nice in our opinoin. We walked the 10 minute walk down to the front and used a couple of reastsurants 2 evenings, nice atmosphere around square area. We caught the train to Barcelona about an hours journey, well worth a visit! All in all we had an amazing time, would definelty return to Merce Hotel and recommed to anyone thinking of booking. On arrival, we were dropped off by our clueless tui rep, who was more interested in speaking on her mobile phone than helping others! Waited 30mins for room, when receiving our key they was an argument going on with a previous guest, if I'm honest this could of been sorted quicker then it was as they was children present including my own! Our room was basic, with no balcony, bath, or even a fridge, we were told a fridge is extra & if I'm honest, we didn't have a balcony, so a fridge would of been perfect as we didnt have this! Tv had no English channels apart from disney. Rooms were cleaned well, but most of the time, I did it myself as I have a little OCD when it comes to cleaning, I came to this hotel with my 7 year old son, who has an allergy to fish! This was explained to the staff as well as kitchen staff as I used my phone to google translate, I wouldn't of minded eating there if food wasn't cooked together, fish & meat was both cooked on the same grill as well as been placed on the same tray! This happened a few times so my son couldn't eat there at all, we had to pay extra & eat out as even though I mentioned this to staff nothing was done! On the last day, I spoke to the manager and told them about my sons fish allergy as I was told staff were going to pass the message on which was never done! The manager apologised & told me I would be given a refund through Tui & he would help all he could! Which was lies as Tui refused to give me a refund & said the manager should have given me this when we left! (The manager wasn't going to give me a refund it was lies) I spent an extra £250 eating out every night when this hotel could have sorted my sons dietary needs as most places do theses days! We had 2 days of rain and to be honest they was no entertainment or even music playing in the bar which made our holiday glumy, we were offered a few board games, the entertainment at night time was mainly for adults, I wouldn't recommend taking your children here as it's more of an adult environment! The hotel is basic, no fridge unless you pay extra, the hotel was clean, some staff go above & beyond for people, they was a young lad with glass and a lady called Sally I think who where absolutely amazing, they knew about my sons allergies & apologised, I do wish more help was given though like a refund the manager promised me! The pool area is small, we never went in to the pool as the beach was more fun, the hotel is very basic and I would recommend going somewhere different as the money we paid for this hotel wasn't worth it, some of the guests are so rude, pushing in, mucky looks & completely blanking people, I felt uncomfortable in this hotel as people seemed to judge me due to having tattooes, (my body, my rules) I wouldn't go here again as it was boring, and nothing much for children, we did meet a few couples who were lovely & even they told me they would never go again as it's changed, it felt like management just wanted my money & didn'

On arrival you are dropped off on the main road and there is a short walk to the hotel. Not ideal if you are elderly. Hotel is very old fashioned. Beds are like camp beds, mattresses worst I’ve ever slept on. Bathroom is like something from a 1970’s council house. Aircon good. Room very small. No English channels on television. House keeping only made our beds first 3 days then never bothered. Never ever had this on holiday before. Towels very tatty. Every time we opened balcony door our neighbours were smoking, closed door again!!! Food above average apart from the snotty fried eggs. Short walk to the shops and beach. Staff surly apart from the lovely black lady on reception, always smiling and conversing with everyone. Pool area grotty with a tiny pool that was freezing. Bar man miserable with no manners. Would not return.

My wife and i, along with 2 friends, stayed at this hotel at the start of September 2024 for a week. I was a little worried after reading a couple of previous reviews about this place, but always have to judge hotels from your own expereinces. I must say, i was really pleased with our friends choice. We stayed in a superior room. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the staff were very friendly. A special mention to house keeping, who cleaned our room every day, and the bar and restaurant staff who always had a smile on their faces. This is tucked away at the top end of Pineda De Mar, in a lovely little location, by a church. Thanks to all at Hotel Merce for the exceptional service.

Arrived 11-20 pm , lack of lighting throughout inside n outside of hotel, no signage along hotel to indicate where room was , I fell down a flight of stairs with my full suitcase due to the darkness, looking for my room, eventually found room, no lights working inside bedsit of a room , told receptionist, answered do you want to change rooms , not interested in me falling whatsoever, towels are bout 30 years old, shower shocking never ever again
