very nice and cozy place! an historical building in the center of Pingyao. Very kind people at the reception.

the hotel was a very interesting new experience for us. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had a good time.

Excellent location inside the walled city next to one of the entrances. Quiet and small alley. You might have to ask for its location if you don’r speak Chinese, but it is not that difficult to find it. The building is gorgeous, a painted wooden house. Our room size was good, but the bathroom was very small. The shower was a small space between the toilet and the sink with a whole on the floor. The room smelled like tobacco. We had to ventilate. There is a rope outside where to hang your washed clothes, so they dry easily. They use translations tools. The guy tried to help us, but he was no very efficient at that. Overall, it id really worth it to stay at this place.

We were also extremely pleased with the recommended travel photography service. Overall, it was a truly delightful and emotionally fulfilling experience!

The courtyard is beautiful, and the location is very convenient. The couple who own the place were incredibly warm and hospitable, and they even surprised us with a gift of vinegar.

Cleanliness: Housekeeping is provided daily, and the owner is incredibly warm and accommodating, always ready to assist with any request. Service: Upon check-in, the owner provides a detailed Pingyao city map and offers thoughtful guidance, helping guests avoid tourist traps and make the most of their visit. Friendly Tip: Should you require pickup from the train or bus station, a dedicated driver service is available. Simply arrange it with the owner in advance, and you'll find the driver offers very reasonable rates!

The room was exceptionally clean, tidy, and had a charming unique character. The owner was incredibly kind and provided outstanding service. They went above and beyond, helping me plan my itinerary, even assisting me with buying medicine, and arranging a private car to the Qiao Family Compound. The hotel has a charming surroundings. Room quite small but ok. The towels were dirty but we got cleaned ones after we asked. The glasses in the bathroom were really dirty, didn’t used it. Location of the hotel was good though it was difficult to find. After heavy rain(s) the alley to the hotel was all underwater so, we had to buy plastic covers shoes. Next morning the allay was cleared up.

Beyond any guidebook, the lovely proprietress personally shared insider tips and even hand-drew a 'pitfall-avoidance' map for the ancient city. As she wisely put it, 'This isn't just an inn; it's a second home hidden in the ancient city.' I simply can't wait to stay here again on my next visit to Pingyao! ❤️

Traveling with the kids was great fun, and they absolutely loved it. The courtyard was very picturesque and perfect for photos. The room type suited us perfectly, and the owner was incredibly kind. The place was clean, the service was warm and welcoming, and it's conveniently located near the city gate.

The room was spotless, and the wet/dry separation in the bathroom was a thoughtful detail. They also provide traditional costumes for guests to take photos, adding a fun experience. The entire courtyard exudes an ancient, classical charm. The location is superb, and having parking available at the East Gate with the owner picking you up made arrival incredibly convenient.
