The Claymore Guest House and Apartments

Probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in, better than some 5 star hotels! Rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, staff are very friendly and the breakfast is simply outstanding! Very helpful discounts with local restaurants as well.

Lovely guest house right in the heart of Pitlochry and a few short steps away from cafes, restaurants, shops etc. Room was extremely spacious with four poster bed and overlooking main road. Breakfasts were excellent and plentiful and the owner was lovely offering plenty of information on the surrounding area, even providing business cards for local businesses who offered his guests a glass of wine when they dined with them. Very nice touch indeed. We loved our visit of 3 nights and would most definitely return again .

Just returned from a 2 night break in room 5, four poster bedroom, which was a surprise for my wife for her birthday. On arrival we received a friendly welcome, and were shown to our room. After messaging Gordon and his team prior to arrival, he had gone the extra mile to help me, and as we entered the room, a bottle of Prosecco was on ice, and a beautiful bunch of flowers were in a vase. The room itself was immaculate, and also stunning, with its lovely bed, bedding, and general lay out. The bathroom is also modern, and filled with some great toiletries. Two large windows also gave us lovely views across the hills. We had the added bonus of lovely blue skies and sunshine, which further enhanced the view. Everything you need is provided within the room, as stated upon booking. Breakfast is well organised, you tick every single item you want on a sheet, and hand the sheet in before you go to bed. The next day, whilst in the conservatory watching the wildlife, your cooked breakfast is served, and each item on your plate is locally sourced, and the dining experience definitely benefits from this. All the food is delicious. Don’t be shy with any extra requests, as Gordon’s team will do all they can to help, dietary requirements etc. Location is also a huge bonus, as you walk down the driveway, turn left, and Pitlochry Main Street is there!! Warm welcome from Gordon to the Claymore guest house and apartments in Pitlochry. Stayed in the self-catering lodge which had recently been refurbished and was spotless and well-appointed with everything you would require for a stay. Very comfortable bed and spacious shower room. The accommodation is well situated for shopping, walking round the town and visiting the theatre and I can recommend staying here.

Two weeks ago we had a lovely five night stay in the Claymore apartments, situated at the rear of the property. This was our first visit to the area, what a great choice we made. The apartment was well appointed, modern and spacious. The garden was beautifully maintained.The property has an excellent location on the main road through Pitlochry, yet is set well back so very quiet. Highly recommended!

Beautiful house and gardens greeted us from an ideal position in Pitlochry. The wonderful welcome continued on the inside. Lovely warm, helpful hosts and staff. Room was huge - it had to be to fit the super sized and oh so comfortable bed. Bathroom large too and all spotless. Excellent breakfast. Definitely highly recommend, thank you for a delightful stay!

Lovely bedroom, delicious breakfast, clean and well-maintained property, superb double glazing (hubby’s observation!) ensuring a very peaceful stay, minutes from the town centre. Plenty of tourist and dining info to have, and a bonus free glass of wine in one or two restaurants. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family.

We have just returned from a wonderful few days staying at the Claymore Guesthouse. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, the breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. Host Gordon was really friendly and welcoming . The bed was very comfortable and the room spacious. The Guest house is ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area with ample parking. We have already booked for next year and highly recommend the Claymore for anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Claymore, the first being in 2019. Since then it has changed owners but the standard of hospitality, quality of accommodation and food have stayed as high as ever. If ever in Pitlochry we shall have no hesitation in returning yet again.
