Kn Aparthotel Columbus

Come here January 23rd for 4 nights. We hired a safe for €25 euros and the first night we had €200 taken out of a wallet and €60 euros taken out of another. We alerted the reception immediately and was told to come back in the morning. So when we went back we were told that we are the only people with safe keys there are no spares…… the hotel manager was called and handed us an eviction warning letter??? We were puzzled at this and when we asked why we were told that we had been seen fighting with another room. As baffled as we were as this never happened what so ever we were spoke to like s**t by the manager saying it was 100% us and we had to sign the letter else we would be thrown out now. So we signed it and after she finished screaming at us and spitting in our faces we were told nothings going to be done about the money out our safe.

Terrible hotel, well over priced food isn't good on all inclusive. We went for 10 days in July 30th to the 9th August with friends who went all inclusive, cocktails are awful it's just slush ice with added syrup and alcohol, food was terrible it was mostly cold except the pizzas from the shop out at pool, went to bring my nephew in to wait on us to we grabbed some stuff from.our room, he was only 15 and he was staying in a better hotel but security wouldn't even let him in for 5 minutes to wait he had to wait out in the street on his own!! so if any young girls or lads who think they can bring a guest in well you won't be allowed so stay somewere else, it's a good location apart from the big hill you need to walk up to get there so if anyone with bad legs stay in another hotel. Not much entertainment it's only daft shows on to 9.30 then nothing to do, loud at night if facing the street end and there's singers on in the corner upstairs of the Dino market bit spanish but they sing English songs and thier awful and very very loud. Beds don't get changed wither unless you've happened to read the tiny cards they leave in your room planned on the sideboard that states you need to leave that on the beds if you want then changed they just spread the dirty sweaty sheets back over the bed. Toilets end up soaked from the shower and all the bottoms of the toilet doors are warped with the water. There is better hotles cheaper to stay id avoid this like at all costs.

A great hotel that’s value for money, staff are lovely. Please try and learn the basic Spanish manners of please and thank you’s! It goes a long way! Food is lovely, please don’t believe all the reviews you read, go and see for yourself! I had a great time and rebooked for September 25.

We were in room 122 which is just above the canopy at front door. Room can be noisy as during the night you can hear the front door sliding back and forth and it is right next to the elevators and that also brings a fair amount of noise from people. It is a noisy street but that is to be expected in Las Americas. When we arrived the room was dirty with random hairs on various surfaces, dust and hair and a random jelly baby behind the door. The bathroom had broken glass next to the shower tray which presumably had come from a broken glass on the sink. There is no shelf in the bathroom so the glasses could easily be knocked off the sink. The cupboard door had brown marks on it like when you open a can of coke and it sprays all over - now it was apparently obvious to us so how/why the cleaners chose to ignore it is puzzling. Thankfully we brought cleaning wipes so thoroughly cleaned all the surfaces ourselves. The door of 122 does not close behind you automatically and on two occasions the cleaner left the room unlocked - we spoke to the cleaner after the first time and she did apologise but it happened again so we ended up sticking the do not disturb sign on the door so that she would not come near us - we just asked her for towels and made our own beds. We told reception about the room not being secured but quite honestly they did not care enough even to offer an apology - did say they would speak to cleaners but we had already done that to no avail. The main pool area only has sun on the main building side and only until around lunchtime so you need to go chasing the sun in this hotel. The smaller pool behind the other building does get sun most of the day but the pool is still really cold but is usable. The communal areas and toilets were kept clean, we cannot comment on dining room as were self catering. The food at the Corner snack bar is decent and the Caesar salad was particularly good. Location of hotel is good and not far from shops and beach. Two supermarkets on the next street and the smaller of the two has a really good sandwich/deli bar where you can get lovely baguettes and pastries [and your room key gets you a 5% discount]. You get what you pay for and this hotel is frequently one of the cheaper ones when you look on tour operator sites. We only booked this hotel as we had spoken to several people who had stayed there previously and everyone said it was a decent place to stay. Several people we spoke to there said they thought the standards had dropped and they were quite dissatisfied particularly with the cleaning standards of the rooms.

The hotel was ok, we did go out alot, we were a family of 15 on a 10 day holiday. the good thing about the hotel was you can go all inclusive up untill your last day, we did do that on our last two days as we had done everything we wanted to do and thought we would spend the last 2 days relaxing in the hotel. It was 33 euros each day and well worth it. The food was good with plenty of choice. The down side was some of the staff, The two young girls that were behined the bar during the day were really rude to british people. It was very plain to see. I saw a scottish women and 2 irish men complaning that there glasses were going missing and they were told to complain at reception and pay another euro for a glass. These 2 girls were just so rude when people were ordering food from them on the lunch menu they just never spoke or even smiled and when the food was ready they just slide the food on the bar and walk away. They were very polite, chatty and full of smiles if you were not english, irish, scottish or welsh, it was very plain to see. As for the security staff they were the same, one of them was collecting glasses and getting euros back of the two girls at the bar, so thats why peoples glasses were going missing. Apart from that it was ok, the evening bar staff were so nice and friendly and the reception staff were also very friendly. Are rooms were clean and tidy. Also it is a shady hotel, no sun on any of the balconies and the pools were always in the shade. Would i go again NO. But we did have a good holiday meeting up with family and there is plenty to do outside of the hotel

Stayed here with family (17 of us) for my Mums 70th birthday. We all had a really great time. My partner & I stayed Bed & breakfast but others stayed self catering & food was good, always plenty to choose from. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels too. Pool area was kept clean. Entertainment pool side was good & something different most days. Staff friendly. Close to bars & restaurants. The spa is well worth a visit too.
