I am writing this post to share my horrendous experience at Roundcube Guest House and to warn everyone about their pathetic service. This complaint serves as a cautionary tale and an account of the nightmarish ordeal I endured during my recent stay. Upon my arrival at 7pm, there was no one present at the reception. I waited patiently for over 30 minutes, growing increasingly frustrated and exhausted. Seeking assistance, I approached nearby individuals, but none of them had any idea about the whereabouts of the staff. In desperation, I dialed the number provided on the door and on the website, but my calls went unanswered. It took a whole half-hour before someone finally returned my call, only to be greeted by a rude and illiterate individual. When the staff member arrived, his attitude was nothing short of appalling. He showed me to my room, which was infested with flies and mosquitoes. It was a far cry from the pristine condition depicted on the website. To add insult to injury, when I requested another room option, I was informed that there were none available. Curiously, during the 30 minutes I spent at the property, I knocked on several doors in search of assistance, but not a single guest was present. Frustrated and disheartened by the staff's attitude, and since it was a special occasion being my birthday, I made the decision not to stay and asked for a refund. To my astonishment, the Agoda agent mentioned that the check-in time was 12 o'clock, implying that my late arrival was to blame. This explanation was preposterous, as I had booked the room for the entire day, clearly indicating my intention to check in at any time. It is worth noting that I had also communicated my estimated arrival time of 6-7pm during the booking process and even called one day prior to inform the hotel. The Agoda team made multiple attempts to contact Roundcube Guest House over the course of two days, but it was only on the third day that they managed to establish contact. Imagine the immense frustration and difficulty I experienced on the day of check-in, waiting for resolution. I find it utterly unacceptable that both Agoda and Roundcube Guest House demonstrated such a lack of professionalism and customer understanding. In the service industry, catering to the needs and expectations of customers should be a fundamental principle, yet it was completely disregarded in this case. My intention in sharing this complaint is to raise awareness and prevent others from going through a similar ordeal. I strongly advise against booking rooms through Agoda, as their customer support proved to be inadequate and unresponsive in handling this matter. Additionally, I emphatically caution against choosing Roundcube Guest House, as their service was abysmal and they failed to deliver on even the most basic standards expected from an accommodation provider. Let this complaint serve as a warning to everyone considering Roundcube Guest House and as a reminder to demand better
