Not usually one for writing reviews, however our time at Torel Advantgarde was so amazing I felt compelled to do so. The interior design is stunning. Super stylish yet welcoming. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated. So inspirational I have since been desperately googling in the hope of finding replicas of the gorgeous bed cushions! The food in the restaurant was simply delicious and you could tell a lot of thought and care had been taken to create the perfect menu. The best part for us though was the staff. Every single member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect holiday. From the warm reception, to great sightseeing advice and the attentive service from the bar staff. Our trip was in celebration of our anniversary and the team went out of their way to ensure our trip was magical. A wonderful hotel, in a great location that more than deserves it’s five stars.

We stayed in the Wine and Books Hotel for Seven nights .The Hotel should be rated 7* .We have travelled worldwide and this is by far the best Hotel we have stayed in .The staff are very special , working as an excellent team to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Camilla and Soraia on the front desk and to the food and beverage manager and all the restaurant and housekeeping staff for excellent Service which went above and beyond what we expected...Nothing is too much trouble for this excellent team. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food and breakfast is the best we ate in Porto. We truly felt we were leaving good friends by the time we left .Thank you all for a truly great stay. The initial reaction when you walk in is this is a breathtaking old world hotel. The lobby area is spectacular and the doorman with the top hat and elevator with the leather seat takes you back to another age. Our room was spacious snd looked out over the pool and a view of the city. But it’s the little things that make you question if it’s really a 5 star property. The door stop was broken and consequently the door handle had made a hole in the wall. The display of oranges at breakfast were moldy. The decking around the pool needs repairing and despite two requests no one ever brought towels to the pool or cleaned up glasses and food left behind from other guests. While these are small things, they are things that a top hotel doesn’t overlook. We enjoyed our stay but likely won’t return as it just wasn’t our vibe.

Stayed 4 nights upon arriving in Porto. For a 3 star hotel the property is very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and offer a closet with a safe, a kettle and tea/coffee service, a small fridge that is stocked but still room to put a beer, wine bottle or water bottle in to chill. Several outlets but no usb ports. Bathroom has a bidet. Shower had good water pressure. It’s actually a tub/shower combination. Only thing missing was wash cloth. Didn’t get one in either of my Portugal hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, Starts at 7. Several options from eggs to pancakes, side dishes, so many fresh breads, cereal, fancy coffee machine, fresh juices. There is also a bar at the hotel but we didn’t visit it. Next door is a 3 store mall with a full service American size grocery store to buy water, snacks, wine etc. at very affordable prices. One block away is the Mercado Bom Success, an upscale food court. We ate dinner there twice. The hotel is in an area called Villa Nova so a 30 to 40 minute walk from the historical center. The metro is 10 to 15 minutes away, Casa de Musical stop, which will take you to the historical center in 15 minutes. I would stay here again if ever in Porto.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Porto for 2 nights recently as part of a work trip. The hotel is in a good location, about 10 mins drive from the airport. There are a few small shops and bars / restaurants nearby. The rooms are nice, a great size and come with all the usual amenities that you'd expect from such a hotel. I ate in the bar on each night, the food was great and very good value for money. The service provided by the 2 bartenders was also great! I'll be back again in early summer and would recommend to anyone looking for a good hotel in Porto.

The hotel is really nice situated in a central location. It matches new design, embedded into old walls in a stylish yard. The vibe is really special. It has a classy groundfloor restaurant and a rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the river. Rooms are spacious, cosy and very clean. Some small details could be improved, like a shower door scratching against the floor, or a funny smell coming out of the overhead unit. But generally, very well designed and maintained. We also got a stunning balcony! Fire doors need some attention in the staircase as without door stoppers, they slam incredibly strong. Could be a health and safety issue, but certainly a very loud noise. The restaurant serves really good food and has a nice selection of wines. My only complaint was no ironing board in the room :) as a result we requested for my shirts to be ironed for ”tonight” on the same day, specifically stating they do not need to be washed. When our anniversary dinner came, we were told the shirts would be ready at the end of the day, obviously too late as we had to leave. When raising this, the lady who I believe managed the staff (so sorry I forgot the name!!), went above and beyond and made sure we get it on time. She saved the night, which we are very grateful for! I can really recommend the hotel, a great place to stay in Porto. Could be a bit cheaper I guess :)!

Typical of the Portuguese Hotels we have had on our Bunnik tour on the Portuguese leg. Stairs and no ramp to get suitcases into the hotel and a bit if a shortage of staff to help. No tea and coffee or free water in the room only one free plug on one side of a double bed. Our bathroom toiletries was a shower cap but there were squeeze bottles of shower gel,shampoo and bath gel attached to the shower. Only one glass in the room although we were in a room for couples; there were 2 small ones in the bathroom. The tiny glasses allowed you to have some water to brush your teeth so you don't bang your head on the overhead cupboard mirror which is totally unnecessary since it doesn't hold anything. The basin was so shallow that you dare not leave it running long. There was a bidet if you need one, otherwise it just takes up valuable bathroom realestate. One of the few hotels without a pool and reliable WiFi in our room. No news in English. but old movies overdubbed in Portuguese. I was told that they were working on upgrading their WiFi. On the plus side, the room was clean, breakfast was plentiful with a good range of food. Thr staff as helpful as as was possible. The area is good for access to art galleries and eateries.

Die Einzelzimmer sind sehr klein, aber ausreichend bei einem mehrtägigen Städtetrip. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und komplett neu renoviert. Kostenloses Wasser wird ebenfalls angeboten. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und haben mir bei der Ankunft sehr viele Tipps gegeben und waren sehr hilfsbereit. Die Rezeption ist nicht rund um die Uhr besetzt. Als ich ein Fahrrad für mehrere Tage (auch über Nacht) auslieh, konnte ich es innen im Gepäckraum abstellen (bekam einen Schlüssel dafür). Sehr zuvorkommend und zu empfehlen. Lage ist ebenfalls optimal.
