Coolin View is simply but tastefully decorated throughout and we loved the welcoming fragrant flowers in the entrance hall. Our double bedded room was tight as it included bunk beds, which we didn't need. Being on a month's tour we struggled to fit our 2 suitcases in and certainly wouldn't have wanted to share the small space with 2 children! The bathroom was also tiny but the shower was efficient and easy to use, as was the heating system in the room. Bedding and towels were white and fresh. Although a 'cosy' room that was on the expensive side for a Guest House with no breakfast, the plus side was that we had a super view from our room over the harbour and it was ideally located for Portree services and restaurants. Our biggest concern was the parking and while we knew beforehand that a space might not always be available finding an alternative was not something we wanted to do. Though empty during the day we timed our return movements to ensure a space, but be aware that this could be an issue as other nearby spaces filled up quickly and we did not hear good reports of the public car park from a couple of locals - lots of dints and scrapes. The Guest House is managed by a delightful Spanish couple who took a pride in their role and were friendly and helpful.

來天空島一定要住這個酒店！風景和位置是全島最好的！！！強推！！！沖就完了！！！ 面朝大海和雪山！還要什麼自行車！太美了！美哭了！這個景色接近西藏的林芝波密地區的松贊哈！ 早餐更是面朝雪山，早餐是點單式的，挺好的，推薦蘇格蘭全早餐，酒店房間也很好！沒什麼可挑的，旺季才兩三千吧，要是淡季一千多實在太划算了！這裏適合多待幾天。 酒店樓下入口處有個停車場，那邊有個公園小門進去可以沿海徒步一圈6英里，非常值得户外愛好者去徒步，超級美！！！ 酒店房間裏面就跟攜程的圖一摸一樣。 酒店有拖鞋！在歐洲也不多見。洗澡水還不錯！ 整體很推薦！ 如果來天空島，一定要住這家翠廉山！ 建議天亮的時候到，小路拐彎上山找酒店晚上會看不太清楚導航，白天好很多！

We spent two nights at Skaebost House while we toured Skye. This was such a serene setting to come back to at the end of some long days and brisk hikes. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights and noted that the young staff did an excellent job of managing a full house. Shout out to Ayla and Beth who kept their cool and provided service with a smile amidst all the bustle. We loved walking down to the water to watch sunset after dinner. Entire staff was warm and welcoming. Room was comfortable and clean -wifi was good even though we felt very remote. We enjoyed our time here and would come back.

I agree wholeheartedly with the comments made by NevardA. While we did actually briefly meet the host Jurriaan and he was very attentive by WhatsApp, it all felt very impersonal and following 7 nights in a self catering cottage, we were looking forward to a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast, so cereal & toast outside our door was a disappointment. The room was clean and ideal for walkers or cyclists just looking for a place to sleep, but not a good option for people who wanted to feel like they were ”on holiday”. The linen & towels should be replaced and some basic maintenance tasks like making sure the toilet roll holder & towel hooks actually stay in the wall would make a difference. The guest house was approx 20 mins walk to the town centre for restaurants etc and I don't think this was made clear in the advert for the property
