Hotel Puebla dengan Spa

I went here, back in December of 2021, to celebrate my birthday and boy did I get spoiled rotten because I got to eat local food and received plenty of fond memories and gifts as well. If you are an Ambassador or Royal Ambassador then you will be entitled to having your breakfast and your canapes (snacks) for free. The food was delicious both for breakfast and for canapes.

PRO: It is a lovely building, barely two blocks from the center on a generally (but not always) quiet street. CON: It started with the form I was asked to sign at checkin. It was in Spanish, which I do not understand; but it described severe penalties (who knows, maybe torture and dismemberment?) if I were to steal so much as a towel. I've never seen such a form at another hotel. So they started out treating us as potential thieves. Next, I had booked their most expensive room (a 'presidential suite') but it turned out to be a dark inside room. We asked for, and got, a smaller room facing onto the street, with a couple of balconies. No refund was given (we had a prepaid rate). I had seen AC mentioned in other TA reviews. Our room had no AC or cross-ventilation. It isn't normally necessary in March in these altitudes, but this year was unusually hot. The included breakfast required turning in little slips of paper issued by the front desk. It was a mixed experience---the food was elegantly served on large plates in a lovely space, but it was strictly limited. The coupon explicitly warned that no pan dulce would be given (what do they cost, a few pesos each at the bakery?); and capuccinos were 40 pesos extra. Our request to fix the dual-mode flush (the button for #1 flushing worked, the button for #2 flushing did not) was ignored. However, front desk staff were friendly and helpful otherwise. So a mixed experience. Puebla is a lovely city but tourism is clearly not revived yet. Many restaurants were quite empty at lunchtime. This hotel was empty also, except on the weekend.

Very highly recommended, particularly for those weary travellers who would rather set up camp within a stone's throw of the bus terminal ... and close to a most delectable food market! The hotel boasts several elegant and ample lounges on different floors where the guest can sit with his companions for a chat, do some reading, catch up to his diary, or just idle away in quiet and immaculate surroundings. There are a number of lifts servicing the hotel's five storeys, if one does not wish to unwind the winding staircases. Room-door and room-lighting are operated by means of a card-key, and the sober en-suite rooms come complete with a coffee-making machine, telephone for FREE calls, wi-fi, bottled water, coffee & sugar, bathroom amenity kit, all courtesy of the house. You will find Mr Paul at the reception desk, and Mr Eduardo, extremely pleasant, polite and accommodating gentlemen. You will not even have to take your luggage upstairs! Ask for a room overlooking the mighty Mt Popocatepetl, the city's smoking active volcano! Un magnifico lugar, y mas aun para aquellos viajeros que deseen estar a un paso de la terminal de autobuses, ... y a dos pasos de un mercado con la mas deliciosa cocina Mexicana! Este gran hotel cuenta con multiples salones en varios pisos, comodos, elegantes, espaciosos e inmaculadamente limpios, donde el huesped puede sent**** a leer en paz, charlar con amigos, escribir su diario de viaje, o simplemente relaj****. Tambien hay varios ascensores para ascender y descender los cinco pisos. Tanto la puerta de la habitacion como sus luces son accionados por tarjeta (en vez de llaves), y las sobrias habitaciones incluyen cafetero, telefono (las llamadas son gratuitas), agua embotellada, wi-fi, una bandejita de amenidades para el bano, cafe, azucar, todo cortesia de la casa. Varias habitaciones tienen vista directa sobre el humeante volcan Popocatepetl, icono de la ciudad! Paul, encargado de la recepcion, y Eduardo, ambos de disposicion muy gentil y profesional, hacen de la estadia una muy grata experiencia.

My wife & I will return to this hotel on our next trip to Puebla. I can’t think of any negative thing to say about El Sueño. The rooms were nicely appointed, the A/C worked & was quiet & the bathroom was large with plenty of hot water. We had a Jr. Suite & the friend traveling with us was in a Standard + room. Both were large & comfortable. Breakfast was included & was from a very complete menu. I think there are some restrictions on ordering from the menu for the simpler rooms. The staff was outstanding & all who had roles which required interactions with guests spoke English. Everyone made us feel welcome. There is also bar & a terrace & food is served throughout the day & early evening. The hotel is only a few blocks from the zocalo & the area appears very safe. In summary, you won’t be disappointed staying here.

AWESOME STAFF, everyone is trained and polite! Mariana at the front desk was extra helpful and Kind, Valet and Security staff greeted you always with a smile and gave helpful suggestions. We were at Club level, delicious breakfast was included and the view was great! Pool was climatized. Room service and maid were on point! Great bed, pillows and nice big bathroom made our stay awesome. They also had a charger for my tesla so it was a big plus! Will be back. Thanks!

A lovely hotel. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully decorated rooms. The hotel terrace has a wonderful view of Puebla city and the volcano. Can recommend the Thai restaurant if you want a change from Mexican cuisine…
