The Ferry Bed & Breakfast

The Ferry BNB hosts, Mitzi and Dan, are wonderful. Every possible detail has been thought out and implemented by these seasoned professionals. The property is so comfortable and cozy you just want to linger. Mitzi makes wonderful cook-to-order breakfasts with daily home made bread and an array of cereals, juices, home made yoghurt and compote and juices, Dan was quick to offer practical advise on parking, restaurants and traffic navigation. The location is in a calm peaceful area just a short drive from town. We've stayed at many BNBs throughout the world, and the historic Ferry Inn is world class. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay. Beautiful location on the edge of Queenstown, near Shotover Bridge. You can walk out the front door for a ramble over the historic bridge and then up into the forest. Very comfortable house, with a lovely kitchen for the use of guests, should you wish to take a break from restaurants on your travels. Excellent cooked breakfast, with plenty of choice. Laundry facilities should you need them. Mitzi and Dan are very hospitable folks, and only too happy to put their local knowledge at your disposal. They keep silkies, ducks and Guinea pigs in the back garden, which are the source of much amusement, and the front garden is a riot of lovely roses. We were there two nights, and would happily have spent more. Excellent hospitality!

My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary in NZ and booked 5 nights at this lovely home with the most incredible views imaginable. Dan and Mitzi were so kind, pleasant and helpful in making the end of our 3 week adventures in NZ complete and soul enriching. We stayed in the heritage room and I strongly recommend this room because you are so comfortable and you are rewarded with a ridiculously adorable view of the chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and various birds in the area who are incredibly entertaining and the happiest creatures in a beautiful environment made just for them. The breakfast was a feast of goodness with homemade yogurt, jams, breads, etc. and made to order selections. The historic photos, local antiques and uniqueness of the historic building added to the remarkable experience. I cannot thank Dan enough for his guidance in making the best choices of incredible experiences for each day we were fortunately able to drive around the Queenstown area. A 5 star location in every way because you really do feel you are relaxing at home in the most amazing place with such warm and inviting hosts.

The Ferry was one of the loveliest B&B's that we have ever stayed in. Our hosts Dan and Mitzi were fantastic. They made us so welcome and provided us with tips regarding things to do and see nearby. As my wife is gluten intolerant, Mitzi provided gluten free treats each evening. The building and decor is so lovely and quaint. There was a big stove burning in the living room and plenty of space to relax and chat other guests after a busy day. The breakfast was really delicious and perfectly cooked. Dan and Mitzi make a great team, working diligently together. The location is great but you do need a car. Thank you for a lovely stay, Folks. Hopefully we'll get a chance to visit New Zealand again and if so, The Ferry will definitely be on our accommodation list.

Our 3 nights at The Ferry B&B were nothing but perfect. The accomodation is lovely, in a quiet and amazing area, steps away from the Historic Bridge. The bedroom is so well decorated and looked after that takes away your breath when you open the door. It is sparkling clean, with every single detail to make your stay feels like home. Then comes the breakfast, and believe me, you will feel like being in a real cafe, with hot and fresh meals prepared by lovely Mitzi and served by Dan. These guys go beyond hospitality to make this place a perfect stay. My husband and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a 10 out of 10 accomodation. Thank you Mitzi and Dan

A short drive from the heart of Queenstown, the Ferry is a quaint place to stay if you want the best service. The owners are incredibly friendly and very informative, which was insightful for figuring out our plans around the area. They provide a complimentary breakfast, which is fabulous. Each of their rooms are designed beautifully, and it really felt like I was in the comfort of my own home within the first night of arriving there.
