Hotel Bohinj

Nice hotel very close to Lake Bohinj. Unfortunately our first impression on arrival was the construction site right out the front - blocking the entrance and the view from the restaurant. Looks like quite a long way till that’s finished. Breakfast however was quite good, (sadly coffee not great though). Staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and advice for skiing equipment rental (and bring my daughter a birthday cake at breakfast!). The noise insulation between rooms is not ideal - we were kept up until 4am as the room above us were chatting and moving around. Overall a very comfortable stay but I think we had been spoiled by our previous accommodation in Jeserko so my review is probably coloured by that.

Excellent! The hotel is beautiful by itself, the design is simply awesome… a lot of details in the lobby, bar, dining room & the room where we stayed. I really appreciate the fact that the hotel is dog friendly. When we arrived there was a little present waiting for us as well as for our dog. The food in the restaurant is exquisite, they pay a lot of attention to detail. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, an awesome place to stay at. I highly recommend it!

Hotel Bohinj in December is absolutely magical. The decoration, cracking fire in the fireplace and the absolutely welcoming staff really makes you feel in a fairytale. Breakfast and dinner are superb, but what really stands out are the friendly staff. You can't leave, without visiting the SPA and enjoying a massage.

The room we had was spectacular. Views of lake and river. Best room in the house. Easy. access to lake and hikes. Restaurant was good with nice selection of wines. Spa was also nice, although you need to reserve ahead of time. Nicer when it is not crowded .

We stayed for two nights in a superior suite during a longer trip to Ljubljana. The suite contained a sitting room with balcony, bedroom, bathroom with circular jacuzzi bath, and separate shower room. All areas were spotlessly clean, attractive and spacious. The balcony had a nice view. There was a safe and minibar. Breakfast was included, and was one of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I've had. Huge range, plentiful, everything fresh and well presented. Dinner was less good, with a somewhat limited menu and food arriving tepid. (Avoid the beef with noodles soup, which sounded promising but turned out to be greasy consommé lacking in meat or vegetables with slightly floury noodles in it - certainly poor value at €7.50.) Inside the hotel, there's wood everywhere. Even the carpet in the upstairs corridors has a wood pattern. There are spa facilities, which we didn't use. Outside, there's a fire pit to sit round in the evening. At the moment (June 2024) there's some building work taking place next to the hotel, but it wasn't disruptive. The nearby lake is beautiful, and the resort isn't overrun and crowded like Lake Bled, which is closer to Ljubljana. We went on a relaxing boat tour of Lake Bohinj and stopped off for lunch at the far end, where there's a good outdoor pizza place and ice cream parlour selling really nice ice cream. All in all, an expensive hotel but, apart from dinners, has the ingredients for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting, and the restaurant is good, if not great. There are small issues, such as the curtains not being blackout, and private events preventing you from using parts of the hotel, which is annoying. There are weights and a stationary bicycle in the room, which is uncalled for but ok. But that's not the worst. The service is so appalling that it ruins the whole experience. At best, it's disinterested and awkward and at worst, people are downright rude. They made us feel like everything we asked (such as help carrying our luggage or making a booking for the spa) was inconvenient for them and beyond what could be reasonably expected. We felt unwelcome and told off, like our mere existence was inconvenient. We spent as little time possible at the hotel, which is a shame, since the property itself is nice. Maybe go for a drink in the garden, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Special and warm hotel, beautiful wood design, spacious room with balcony - view to Bohinj lake. Good breakfast with local food. Just coffee from the machine is lousy -cappuccino is just like water... Room details of wood furniture and the corridors are wonderful - I love it. The view from the balcony was breath taking, staff very helpful and kind, . There are many beautiful hiking trails in the surrunging area. Every day You have 2 hours of wellness. The dinner is excelent. Looking forward to visiting You again!

Very nice and clean room, all furniture is wooden. Room is spacious, equipped with jacuzzi. From the room is a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and the lake. Also breakfast is delicious. Around the hotel is a lot of chances for sport and enyoing beautiful nature.

Amazing experience. Really lovely experience, atmosphere is very pleasant, nature, nice decorated rooms with lot of small details, wellness also good equipped, breakfast full of local ecological ingredients (chees,bread,..). Staff well trained and very nice.
