Toke the father for dinner last minute thing we booked to eat and the food was amazing Kate cooked us lovely flat iron steaks which were cooked perfectly my dad had the gammon with chips pineapple and egg there wasn’t a crumb left friendly atmosphere and a good price we love it here

Lovely hotel, nice and friendly staff and locals, room was clean and very comfortable bed. Drinks fairly priced. Breakfast great with quality ingredients used. Free car parking behind the hotel too. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Great community run pub. Staff were excellent. Nothing was to much trouble. Our room was perfect. No faults to find at all. Will definitely be staying here again. May even manage 2 nights next time. The Breakfast is cooked lovely and fresh with helping yourself to juices.

I’m used to staying in large hotel chains and have lived in over 20 countries, so when my business booked me into the Countryman’s Inn in Hunton, at first I wasn’t sure what to expect as it’s certainly not my usual type of establishment. On first impressions it’s a pub within the beautiful Yorkshire village of Hunton but stay for a night or 2 and you’ll find out the beauty of the Countryman’s Inn as there is a lot more to it than first impressions. Lisa & Dan run the place - Lisa is a gem, very helpful, smart and just all round lovely. Dan, well more about him soon. My room, 3 was excellent value, the bed was perfect and very comfortable and I enjoyed my 3 night stay with the internet TV. Now to Dan …. He’s the chef for Breakfast and Dinner and quite frankly is outstanding - someone award this man a Michelin Star, and soon. I had one of the finest cooked steaks ever and I used to eat steak weekly when I lived in Alberta for 4 years, in a Canadian Province where steak is cheaper than chicken! I enjoy medium and every part of the cut was grilled on point with seasoning to die for. Chef Dan is a culinary genius. I probably shouldn’t have but I went in for desert and opted for Apple & blackberry crumble - OMG 🤪it was light and airy, not a hint of stoge and rounded off with a perfect consistency custard. I have just found my new favourite chef, it’s just a shame this gem of a restaurant is 5 hours from home. I will find another business excuse and return soon. You MUST visit too.

Tge pub is located in a pretty village with beautiful countryside around. The rooms were tasteful and traditionally decorated and felt homely. We had rooms 1,2 and 3. Room 1 was the family room with plenty of room. Unfortunately the double bed (two singles) was not very comfortable and would benefit from a mattress topper but the bedding was crisp, white cotton and a real pleasure to sleep in. The bathroom light came on automatically along with the fan when the door was opened which was a real pain to the others asleep in the room when you needed the toilet during the night! The towels were clean and fluffy and the toiletries a lovely addition. Rooms 2 and 3 were smaller but perfectly adequate. We returned to the pub about 10pm for a drink and the pub was very quiet so we went to bed after one drink. The breakfast consisted of cereal and juice, tea or coffee and cooked breakfast. It was delicious. Catterick is only a 15 minute drive away.

Stayed on the outskirts of the village but visited here twice. What a wonderful, friendly, community owned pub. The staff and locals made us welcome from the first moment. Excellent Yorkshire beers on draught and lovely pub food to end our final evening. Will return.
