Ótimas acomodações, funcionários muito atenciosos e respeitosos só a limpeza que não é muito frequente a piscina aquecida não estava funcionando e nem a lavanderia, a limpeza de quarto não é muito frequente, apesar de que assim como eu você pegar um quarto compartilhado varia muito o tipo de limpeza de cada pessoa. Mas ótima localização e local.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Everything was perfect, from the comfortable rooms to the friendly staff. We were even able to check into our room earlier than expected, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great experience!

Although slightly out of the way, the views and proximity to the beach are excellent.
However, the service is quite poor and way below international standards. Most staff stand around and play with their phones (even the life guard). Breakfast is basic and doesn’t change from day-to-day. Some of the restaurant’s food is frankly embarrassing for any type of food outlet. The chefs should be quite ashamed to send it out.
The pool is area is nice but worn out. No one cleans it during the day and tables are dirty. The loungers have seen better days. English language is quite rare apart from the receptionists, which to be fair, they’re probably the best staff there.
The potential of the hotel is there - just needs good management and training. Do better!

Empiezo por lo bueno, su personal es impecable no hay dudas que es buena gente. Principalmente Julio. La recepción esta bien pero falta actualización en sus muebles, se quedaron en la década del 80. Habitación: el wifi solo funcionaba cuando nos acercábamos a la puerta o bien tenias que bajar a la recepción. Sabanas y colchas viejas, muy viejas y manchadas. Limpias pero manchadas y rotas. Toallas: muy usadas, con algunas manchas. Seria hora que hagan una renovación total. Es lo básico que se le pide a un hotel así sea de 3 estrellas. Limpieza: muy liviana, por arriba. Una pena Desayuno: abundante, falto más variedad de frutas, con todo lo que tiene Brasil era escaso. El personal excelente. Mobiliario: viejo, con poco mantenimiento. Hora del recambio. Dato simpático: en la cabecera de la cama estaban las perillas de la luz, o sea, cuando te querías recostar con la almohada prendías la luz sin querer. Eso es un detalle tonto pero se nota que no hay un buen trabajo en la actualización de las habitaciones. Después de analizar todos los detalles el precio me pareció caro. Una verguenza.

Hotel was situated in Leme area very near the Leme Fort. For some reason, the hotel does not have a sheltered porch for alighting, but this seems to be a common thing across many hotels in the area. It is a quieter area compared to copacabana, which is honestly just nearby. Doesn’t feel unsafe at night and the receptionist is generally helpful. However room turn over service is quite inconsistent. Some days only the bed is made and there doesn’t seem to be any new towels added, but overall it’s a pleasant experience.

Hôtel bien placé. Nous avons été surclassé dans une chambre vue mer face à la mer. Nous aurons du avoir une vue mer latérale. Seul dommage était que nous avions les antennes situées sur le toit du bâtiment devant le balcon de la chambre . Nous avions néanmoins une vue sur Rio (Botafogo), le Pao d Acucar, les plages de Niterói, nous étions a proximité de MAC (Musée d'Art Contemporain)
Après une journée très chaude, nous avons bien apprécié la piscine chauffée avec un jacuzzi.
Le petit déjeuner était très bien.
Je recommande cet hôtel .

A localização é ótima. O hotel possui uma boa estrutura porém observa-se que a manutenção não está em dia. O atendimento da recepção já foi melhor. Acredito que excepcionalmente no sábado houve uma falha. Porém nada que torne a experiência ruim. O hotel continua sendo uma excelente pedida. Mas, devem se atentar nos detalhes que sempre ganham o cliente.

We stayed here the 2nd time after 12 years. Picked a similar room as we had 1st time: ocean view king suite. It is a bit more expensive than their cheapest rooms, but EXCELLENT value for money. We had room on the 12th floor directly overlooking the waves with two windows. As the hotel and beach is to the south, you get BOTH sunrise and sunset view from your room...see photos attached:) Room is good size, reasonably fresh with only a bit of age and spots here and there. Cleaning is ok, and hotel is in excellent safe area with direct beach access. We much prefer Barra da Tijuca anyway, against the overhyped and crowded, expensive copacabana. But each to his own. Hotel itself (lobby etc) is nice, staff is great, restaurant has very good food. The cocktails of their bar at ground floor as well as by the pool are excellent quality and cheap (as usual in Brazil). HOWEVER... a big however... After booking directly via their ”secure” website, via Amex card, my card details were either sold or re-used by somebody at the hotel staff, as BEFORE our actual trip began, it started being used at various (online?) shops in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and even in Madrid. I had already a 600 euro hit (in some 10 different fraudulous shoppings) before i realized and blocked it. Lucky with Amex's good insurance policy i did not lose money directly on this, nevertheless i ended up with no Amex card on my 2-weeks Brazil trip as oi didnt have the new one yet, and in general it gave a bitter taste to this stay. Because of this i have to reduce the rating. So a word of advice: Book this hotel with confidence, BUT book it via a well-known room broker website, NOT directly thru the Windsor website!

Check-in demorado, devido ao excesso de burocracias, em contrapartida o check-out foi super rápido. Indico a todos.
Localização do hotel é insegura para sair à noite andando pela rua, porém, como usei Uber/99 para locomoção foi super tranquilo.
Acesso fácil aos principais pontos turístico do Rio de Janeiro.

DDanielTive um problema no apartamento , a descarga/vaso sanitário não estava funcionando , sem água. Fiz duas solicitações na recepção para solucionarem o problema, mas não resolveram, nem deram retorno. Tive que utilizar o banheiro do térreo. Isso é inadmissível para um hotel desse porte.

Excellent stay at the Novotel RJ Santos Dumont. The hotel staff was great. Very friendly, efficient, and professional. The hotel was clean, quiet, and well-maintained. The fitness center was well-equipped and available 24/7. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, so cannot comment on that aspect of the hotel. As the name implies, the hotel is convenient for Santos Dumont Airport. It is a fairly easy 5 minute walk from the hotel, mainly on a pedestrian bridge above a busy road. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the Rio Metro. The only negative, and not the hotel's fault, is that this part of Rio has a problem with homelessness and is fairly deserted after dark and on weekends. So, it might not be the best area to walk around at night. Again, not the hotel's fault, and it does have good security, but certainly a part of your stay.

PPengguna TetamuO hotel fica muito bem localizado, na Av. Princesa Isabel, logo depois do túnel, bem onde termina a praia do Leme e começa a de Copacabana. O atendimento na recepção foi excepcional, simpático e prestativo. O Sr. Carlos, que fez meu check-in, foi solícito, nos ofereceu a possibilidade de entrar no quarto mais cedo (13h, quando o horário seria às 15h), e guardou nossas malas na recepção enquanto batíamos perna na cidade esperando liberar o quarto. O quarto que fiquei (um twin standard) era bom, não muito amplo, mas também não era apertado, duas camas de solteiro largas, com lençóis novos e limpos, mas um colchão mole demais para meu gosto (para uma noite, não foi problema, mas passar mais noites dormindo nele seria complicado). TV smart, mas que não conseguia se conectar na internet, então ficava limitada aos canais de cabo (boa seleção de canais de filmes e séries). O banheiro é amplo, mas o box da ducha é apertado e a água não fica numa temperatura constante, você tem de ficar ajustando para mais quente ou mais frio. O quarto todo dava uma impressão de já estar precisando de reforma, e o banheiro mais ainda, mas tudo funcionando normalmente. O quarto que fiquei era conjugado (final 15) e era bem alto o ruído do vizinho quando usava o banheiro, nada que incomodasse constantemente, mas é algo a observar; em outro quarto, talvez fosse menor. Não usamos a área de lazer na cobertura, apenas a visitamos. É pequena, e a piscina é bem acanhada, mas a vista é linda. Também não contratamos o café da manhã, então não posso comentar sobre a comida. Enfim, pelo valor que paguei e para passar apenas uma noite, foi uma boa opção, sem luxos. Para uma estadia mais longa, talvez um quarto melhor resolvesse, ou então um outro hotel.

NNicholasThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality.
The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good.
The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age.
I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.
