To say this is a relatively new resort it has a great set up and intimate feel to it. There is a lot of camaraderie between guests as we are all there for the same thing…the northern lights and love of Lapland. We stayed in both a tree house and a normal room. The tree house was amazing, quite large inside, styled beautifully and lovely views over the reindeer pen and lake. My only criticism was that it was very warm in the room, but nothing opening the door couldn’t help with! The standard room above the restaurant was also styled beautifully with a lovely lake view and was ideally located next to the restaurant, spa, Kota bar and the frozen lake ready to dart out at a moments notice to view the northern lights when your alert goes off. The spa was amazing, with so many facilities, saunas, hot tubs, 2 pools, ice plunge into the lake, salts and plenty of relaxing places. The only small criticism would be getting out of the hot tubs onto frozen ice was a challenge. Much to my friends amusement, watching me rolling around on the ice and snow! Perhaps a heated wooden panel or small heated hand rails would help. The Kota is a great place to have a drink after your dinner and hide out between the Aurora. It’s a great place to chat with other guests and share tips on photography and alerts. And toasting marshmallows was lovely too. The restaurant is lovely. A good choice of food and all tastefully prepared. The chef who comes to greet everyone is a lovely touch and something I see in 5* restaurants. There is also a good choice at breakfast so you won’t go hungry. Though we didn’t do any of the activities at this resort there looked to be a good selection.. note that you are 40 mins drive from Rovaniemi. The staff we met at every touch point were lovely and couldn’t be more accommodating, all so friendly and helpful. Especially Andres on reception. Very professional and friendly. The girls in the restaurant too were also lovely. Would love to come back, we had an excellent time.
