Le Fitz Roy, a Beaumier hotel

We stayed at Le Fitz Roy last year and enjoyed our stay so much we decided to stay again for this year's Val Thorens ski trip. This hotel is in the perfect ski-in-ski-out location at the bottom of the plain sud piste and also in the middle of town - ideal for bars, restaurants and shopping. On arrival we were allocated an upgraded room - which was very welcome and appreciated. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains, a large bathroom with bath (but no shower) was well presented and very clean. During our stay there were a few negatives that would likely encourage us to stay elsewhere next year. The first seems a little strange for a hotel of this standard. The included breakfast, whilst very good, now charges an additional fee if you wish to have fried/poached/freshly boiled eggs or an omelette. This wasn't the case last year. Besides a lack of eggs it's sometimes difficult to get coffee - the attentiveness of the staff can be a little hit or miss. A self service machine might help. The second negative is that the pool in the spa is so much colder than it was last year that it wasn't at all enjoyable. On our previous trip we would spend an hour or so at the end of the day in the spa - this trip we avoided it and soaked in our bathroom instead. We mentioned the pool was cold to the spa assistant who told us to inform reception... that didn't really feel like our job.

As we arrived we were greeted with a glass of....... watery juice not Presecco and that set the tone. Initially I was excited to get on with the holliday in this glorious location so here is what I expierienced. I waited 20 mins for a drink at the bar, they had one ber pump and two staff in the bar, they also bought halfs when I ordered a pint which meant I had to then wait 10 mins again. The rooms are quite small but well appointed allthough the lighting was very complex and overly convoluted. Towels were not changed throughout the 4 day stay. There was littel choice at breakfast and no chance of getting a coffe before 15 mins, you had to chase down the waitress, they bought ordinary coffe when I ordered a Latte. A fried egg was an extra 6euros lol, The choice was quite restricted compared to other hotels, breakfast was a challenge as opposed to a treat. We came back at 11 PM and couldnt get a drink, bar shut, the cleaners etc use the liftes which inconvienience you a lot, the hotel has a poor layout and is confusing to navigate, the locker room and lockers are vary small and crammed often. Staffa appeared hung over and unhappy at times. Would i go back, definately not, ive stayed in many hotels in the Alps and this was a low point, I could go on but there it is, good luck.

Very nice bar with great service and very tasty cocktails. The waitress and the barwoman we're very nice, and the cocktail was great. Came served with very tasty, seasoned cachio. Was great sitting outside at the sun and enjoying the cocktail.

We stayed at Le Fitzroy for a week from Dec 28th. The hotel was fantastic and exceeded all of our expectations. We are a family of 4, with 2 teenage boys. We received a warm welcome and everything was exceptional. In advance of our arrival, Léo, provided a top service making dinner reservations for us. He was so responsive and nothing was too much trouble. Both bedrooms were perfect , and breakfast was great too. During our stay, my son had a medical emergency and had to be transported to hospital by ambulance.. I must sincerely thank Amandine for her wonderful and professional handling of the situation. Le Fitzroy should be very proud of her. It was our first time in Val Thorens but we will definitely be back and most definitely to Le Fitzroy too.

I am totally in awe of Le Fitz Roy! From the moment we walked in and till we left, there was nothing that was not available here! Leo, from the reception was our Santa - you ask and he makes it happen! He guided us and made all possible reservations for us making this trip just perfect for us! The American Bar is so welcoming! Very warm and cozy. But the team led by Tabi makes it so much more warmer! I love her - she chatted up, gave us such great references for gin. The best part is - she remembered my soar throat and got me hot tea even without asking! The rooms and bathrooms are super clean. There is sauna and heated swimming pool and steam room too! Overall, a great stay! Thanks to the whole team for making it so memorable for us ❤️

I have recently returned from a one week stay at this hotel as part of a package holiday with Crystal. The reception team made us feel very welcome and offered refreshments while we checked in. The furniture, decor and finshing touches are impeccable, I especially loved the light fittings, so stylish! This continued to our room on the second floor. Although our room was a little on the small side, it was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the end of a blue run and the main squaure. You really can't fault the location! It was cleaned everyday and there was a turn down service too, we often came back to find sweet treats had been left for us. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was very good. There's a good choice at breakfast, though a lot of the options are bread/cake based. You can order omlettes or poached eggs from the kitchen though and there was always bacon and scrambled eggs available at the buffet. For dinner, we were given an a la carte menu and could choose a starter, main and dessert every night as part of our package. We found the menu stayed the same all week, with the exception of a daily special, usually a different soup, fish of the day and special dessert. A few dishes also required the payment of a supplement. If you weren't willing to try everything on the menu and/or pay supplements, the menu could become a bit repetitive, but we were happy to try everything and were not dissappointed! The pork rib sharing dish was a particular highlight and every single dessert was amazing! There was also an amouse bouche and bread basket served at the start of every meal and petit fours at the end... we felt it was excellent value for money. If you like an easy drinking red wine, the cote du rhone was lovely and only 6 euro per glass. The tap water is also very good and our carafe was kept topped up without asking, this was much appreciated after a busy day on the slopes! All of the staff in the restaurant were attentive and friendly. It is also worth noting that you can visit restaurants at the sister hotel next door (Hotel Val Thorens) using your half board allowance. I had a fab steak at the Val Thoren bistro but sadly we didn't get round to trying the Fondue restaurant, I really wish we had! We visited the hotel spa a few times, unfortunately the steam room was not working for the first few days, which meant the sauna got a bit too busy for my liking but later in the week when both were working it felt less busy and was more enjoyable. The bar in the hotel was OK, a bit pricey (55 euros for a brandy!) but we did enjoy the live music, just a shame it wasn't a bit busier. The boot room was very convenient with easy access to the slopes. All in all we very much enjoyed our time at this hotel and would happily return!
