Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel

Arrived very late in the evening as was delayed wasn’t expecting to get anything to eat or drink as was 12am checkin was swift and met by lovely smiling happy staff to be informed we could get a drink at the bar and a cold Buffett in the Resturant which was amazing and on all inclusive. All the staff at this hotel are amazing and so helpful and friendly day and night and you can tell they enjoy working at this fantastic Hotel. We had a sea view room and wow what a view and the room was amazing lots of wardrobe space lots of coat hangers too we had clean towels every day also mini fridge and kettle in room, with 2 bottles of water each day and our room was cleaned each day by our wonderful cleaner and they work so hard all around the hotel which is spotlessly clean. And the food well what can I say apart from amazing choice morning dinner and evening meal with live cooking at all meal times. There are no shortage of sun beds and so comfortable separated kids area which is good. We spend a day at the chill out on the rooftop not covered by all inclusive but well worth spending 25 euros for a double bed and you can still pop down to use your all inclusive which is great. We totally fell in love with this fantastic hotel not a lot around apart from a shopping mall with shops and bars and some shops but the hotel have a free shuttle bus to different areas, but we just needed a chill out holiday and that is what we got. This was a family couples booking at Gloria Palace for a special occasion on all inclusive, on arrival we were greeted with a glass of prosecco which was welcomed on a hot day. When we went to our room, I was a bit disappointed as there was a palm tree in front of the balcony which blocked our view of the sea. I spoke to service manager Alberto Delgado who was very pleasant and said that he would give us a different room the following day. I can’t believe that he went out of his way to give us a wonderful room on the 5th floor, and made our holiday that much more memorable. All the service desk staff and the restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful, the hotel was clean and the ambience was fantastic. There were plenty of sun beds around the pool area, the entertainment was good, but at times music was a bit to loud if you wanted to get to go to sleep early. The food was good and you won’t go hungry, and staff were quick at clearing up the plates made effort to make sure you were looked after. The hotel provides a free shuttle service Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas, you can walk to the Playa de San Agustín beach which is about 10mins walk down a hill from the hotel. All in all a fantastic holiday at Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel.

Brilliant hotel, very modern and clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, some went out of their way to ensure we were well cared for. Excellent selection of food, plenty of fresh meat and fish cooked every lunch and dinner, fresh omelette and pancakes foe breakfast. Used the rooftop bar and pool a couple of days, beautiful views and nice and quiet, discount on food and drinks, cocktails very nice. Would definitely recommend it

just finished a 10 night stay and honestly can not fault anything at all in the hotel came as a family all inclusive and out of 10 nights we ate out 1 time purely out of choice food is so good fresh steaks fish lamb pizza and different choices hotel rooms are beautiful and clean pools are amazing and the staff are amazing! my children have. been so happy 19 months and 3 years and they have best friend with the pool staff, will visit again

Had a lovely week at Gloria palace san Augustin. Was worried after some reviews we had seen but the hotel was lovely. Clean and tidy and rooms were great. The staff were always helpful and polite and Kamal in the main restaurant was amazing- such a great bloke who really went above and beyond and made our meal times a first class experience. The food was a bit samey but that’s often the case with all inclusive and due to some people stock piling things ran out quickly but the staff worked tirelessly to keep them restocked. The early morning dash for sun beds is always an issue and here was no different but that not the hotels fault and people in big groups getting 15 sun beds doesn’t help!! Went on afew days out due to the age of the kids and the hotel was in good distance to the bus stop. San Augustin is nice enough - bit quiet but don’t bother us. All in all a lovely hotel and a great holiday. Big thanks to kamal! A credit to the hotel.

Overall, the holiday was nice, I feel that the money spent on the hotel is as appropriate. The building and amenities are very classy and well kept, very clean however I would say that the size of the entertainment areas such as bars, pool, stage etc are not big enough to deal with the capacity of the hotel. Not enough loungers or space in the pool for everybody as well as not enough space at the bars at night. The food was ok, nice but nothing special. I would say that some staff could be slightly quicker to serve drinks and clear away plates as we did wait quite a long time towards the end of the holiday on being served. We also were told we had access to food/drinks until 6pm on our last day but then had restaurant staff stating otherwise which out a damper on our final hours. Mostly staff were nice however a few came off as rude, mainly one at reception and a couple of waiters/waitresses in the dining area. The entertainment guys were fab though! The night entertainment was hit or a miss, mostly singers and dancers but we did enjoy the Michael Jackson guy the most. A few minor things - 1. Noticed our rooms had dirty bedsheets one of the days and a dirty towel the next. 2. We were given wristbands for all inclusive but still had to take our room card for drinks/eating. 3. I booked this hotel thinking I’d be lounging on the rooftop for the week but it wasn’t included at all in the package and I’d of had to pay extra for loungers or a bed as well as drinks. I would like to say I did enjoy the holiday and would come back maybe just for a weekend. It is cheap and cheerful but would say a few adjustments are needed.

On the way to the airport having had a fab holiday for 13 nights. Such hard working and friendly staff, decent food and great drinks choices. The daytime entertainment’s crew worked like Trojans and it was only some dodgy evening singers which rather let the side down from that point of view. Everywhere is kept immaculately clean, from the rooms to the gym and all the communal areas. We were even able to watch Premier League footy at the hotel which saved a trot down to the local Irish bar. The beach is only a short walk and Las Burras is recommended for fantastic lunches and a great atmosphere by the sea. The rooftop bar is a good option for a chilled out vibe and a cold drink watching the sunset. Thanks to everyone at the Gloria!

Just returned from a good stay at the Gloria Palace. Check in: Staff we encountered was good enough but didn’t really give you much information about the resort.It seemed to be here’s your key theres your wristbands which were pointless as you had to have your room cards scanned throughout the day. When we used them throughout the holiday they was a lot better. Rooms: Very spacious and modern. 2 single beds pushed together which is the usual and a sofa bed.We bad 2 bottles of still water replenished daily and there is a fridge and kettle with tea and coffee. Couldn’t get the safe to work as there was no power to it. Tv has bbc1,2,itv on it and if you have a firestick that works well with the hotel broadband. Hotel The hotel itself is big with over 500 rooms which also has a dining room,cabaret room(only used when it rains) a outside entertainment stage with tables and chairs (not enough to fit everyone around it) 2 bars around the entertainment area and one near the pool. The main pool is ok but is not big enough for the amount of people that use it. The other pool is where the 2 slides are. There is also a pool on the 9th floor but is adults only and you have to pay 8 euros for a sun lounger and all drinks.The spa seemed really nice but is costly at around 35 euros a day whichdoesn’t include any treatments. The is a tennis court and some Padel courts which also cost money.The gym is excellent which my sons used daily and next to that is an arcade room with some machines and a pool table. Other things around the hotel is free wi-fi (good) a pétanque game, table tennis and a further 2 pool tables. No sports court and not really much other space to do much else. Around the pool there is not enough space to put enough loungers for everyone as the pool has been squashed in. Food The food was hit and miss and when it missed it could make you ill. The chefs on the grill/frying area don’t know how to cook pork steaks properly. 3 times my son and i had 3 raw pork steaks which i complained about to the waiters who didn’t do anything other than take them away. On a good day the food was good (loved the scandanavian stew and roast beef) Some of the food just didn’t match what was next to it. Meatballs never had pasta next to it. Pizza next to the grill. Salad looked good and the sweets were good and well set out. The rest needs a reshuffle. Drinks A massive thumbs up from me Amstel on draught in proper glasses. Cruzcampo and decent brands in bottle forms Cocktails were ok but were made out of a machine Spirits were all fine and included some brands. Baileys coffee went down well to finish the day off. Bars shut at 1am Entertainment During the day this was run by the animation staff.All the usual activities Aqua Gym,Water Polo,Darts, and Bingo. At night i found it was pretty average and was usually singers who all sing the same songs. All ok but boring after a while. We are just finishing our 11 night stay in this hotel. First of all, the ENTIRE animation team is amazing. Melissa, Carlos, Inzi, and Devin are absolutely brilliant for us. I will miss water polo but not inzi cheating at fench bowls, haha! Food has been very good, if you can't find something you like then that's a you issue as we have 2 fussy girls and they have eaten every night here. All staff have been more than helpful. If I could name them all, I would. It has been unforgettable for the children on their first holiday abroad, and they are gutted to be leaving. Only negatives are both pools are deep (1.5m top pool and 1.8m bottom pool), so if you're below 5ft5, beware as it is deep and the kids struggled to stand unless on the long ramp leading into the pool and one day our room was left UNLOCKED after housekeeping. Lastly sunbed gate, you have to beat them to join them if you want a sunbed and as a family of 5 we would prefer if the rule no reserving sunbeds would be enforced. That is the only reason it has not been 5 stars. I would 100% stay here again and if you have children this is a fantastic place to visit.
