Marjorie at the front desk is AMAZING! She was attentive and helpful, with a light up the room attitude!
The hotel is conveniently located in/near the gaslamp district. The rooms are what you would expect from an historic hotel with modern updates. We had issues with the hot water in the shower of our first room and were upgraded to a suite. Similar hot water issues - the showers didn't get hot, just warm.
The hotel restaurant, Salt and Whiskey, was the low point of our visit. When we asked to see a whiskey list we were told the bottles are always rotating so they don't have a list. We asked for Scotch recommendations, but the staff was unable provide one. This is a fail on the bar/restaurant management. We ended up splitting a flight, but would have stayed longer and spent more.
Nice historic hotel with good rooms. I'd steer clear of Salt and Whiskey, opting to walk a couple blocks to 4th or 5th Street.
