SpringHill Suites San Diego Mission Valley

This is a good choice in San Diego but it’s not perfect because it’s not close to any tourist attractions.

Springhill Mission Valley is centrally located to the major roadways, shopping, restaurants, etc. The minus of that is the view from one's room...highways. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good. The workers kept the breakfast well stocked. Nice pool and exercise room. The best part is the staff. The front desk/including the manager was very helpful!

We stayed here for one night before Thanksgiving and enjoyed the close proximity to all the places we wanted to visit. Hotel seemed pretty full for the holidays. Christmas tree was also up too early. Hotel was on the newer side so that contributed to our satisfaction. The rooms were a good size with a separate couch seating area and desk from the two queen beds. It was nice also having the toilet separate so there was better utilization of the room. The only complaint was the walls could have used a thicker insulation as well could hear our neighbors a number of times. Gym was spacious and included all Lifecycle products. Another plus was the complete set of dumbells up to 50 pounds. The gym got a little busier in the mornings versus working out in the evening. Breakfast was very standard but at least presented nicely and restocked when food ran out. The vegetarian breakfast patties were not that bad if one wanted to try them versus the turkey version. Coffee and tea available all day. The entire first floor was well laid out and not bad for hanging out or eating breakfast. Parking was charged at $15 per night.

Dion, the front desk Manager, was super helpful during my stay! The rooms are spacious, this is a great location for all things San Diego! Only 15-20 minutes from the beaches or Old Town. Good breakfast buffet and the pool area is spacious. I am a repeat customer!

Exceptionally clean hotel. Well managed as well. Dion helped with our check-in and he was awesome… personable and professional. Room was clean, nice choices at breakfast and the pool area was great. Highly recommend when in the San Diego area

Five stars for the room. Very spacious and well appointed. Room was a little loud due to highway noise. I bring a portable sound machine everywhere I go and that basically eliminated the noise. Breakfast was worst I’ve ever had at a Marriott, and the outdoor seating is on a very busy road/highway. (It was super crowded the weekend we were there so when we got there on day one, there was no hot food left). Service was ok. Staff was friendly enough. But we had a lot of issues with billing (We were with a large group and had booked ten rooms). Location is nothing great but for where we needed to go/do, it was fine. On the plus side, there is a Starbucks next to the hotel so that is where we needed up getting coffee and breakfast. There are four EV chargers. Super slow and they charged us an extra dollar per hour once the charging was done. Since we had to charge over night this was annoying. We ended up finding a super charger nearby and used that instead.

Great value hotel experience for the San Diego area. Centrally located to all the best places of interest, including the beach, gas lamp district, San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Petco Park, Qualcomm and Snap Dragon, SDSU, and USD. Great complimentary breakfast offered every morning. Hotel staff and management are also exceptional, and while we did encounter one unpleasant experience during our 3 night stay, hotel management was quick to make things right and assure we will return to stay with them in the future - which we will.

I was in need of a quick stay-cation and opted to use this hotel. My only two issues with this hotel are the rates (when I tried to use the online log in, I couldn’t get a decent rate, I had to call) and being charged $25 per night for parking. It seems ridiculous. This hotel shares a lot with another business, but parking permits would easily solve this issue. The parking is not secure, we aren’t near an airport, and there’s no resort fees. Why do patrons have to pay that much?? On to the hotel, I checked in fairly swift. Dion was the rep in front- he was really nice and knowledgeable and answered all the question I had. This was my first time at the hotel. I have seen it but hadn’t had a chance to stay. I must say, this hotel is very nice. It is secure to a point, you can’t even use the lobby restrooms w/o a keycard. Which probably comes in handy since people wander in. This hotel offered breakfast as well. I can’t remember the lady’s name, but she was nice and friendly. She also put out a clean breakfast display. Too bad there was a nasty family that was coughing and touching everything. They definitely should have been wearing masks and wash the hands…nasty guests!!. My room was nice, clean sheets, no hairs, stains. My bathroom, microwave and areas were all clean. The TV had decent channels. There are enough outlets. The wifi worked ok for us as well. Room had mini fridge and microwave. Shower could use higher pressure, but it’s nice and relaxing anyway. I do like the elevator features. It seems they have elevators at both ends of the hall which is nice because then you don’t have to always walk thru the lobby. The gym is small, but it’s nice and clean, same as the pool area. The gym could probably accommodate 5 people comfortably. Regarding the Mission Valley area itself, excellent location for this hotel. You have all freeway access to go wherever and there is a trolley line that can take you into downtown less than 2 miles away. There is also shopping around. Walmart is even in a 5-mile radius as well as Food for Less. You also lots of fast food options, (i.e Taco Bell, In and Out, Rubios, Hooters) with both major malls nearby as well. Overall I would stay again – with people like Dion and the breakfast lady working there, they make this a friendly hotel environment. I would recommend this property.

We took a weekend trip to San Diego and decided to stay here because it was centrally located (without needing the hustle and bustle of DT San Diego), affordable, and offered free breakfast. The room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet despite where we were located (1st floor by the pool & fitness center). The bed was comfortable and liked the fact that the toilet and sink were a separate room from the shower area. The staff were polite and I liked the variety offered for breakfast. There was also a ton of parking, too. Starbucks is just a stone’s throw over too.
