Hotel berhampiran Prohe S.A, San Jose

Decent hotel though a bit old. Very disappointed in the fitness facilities…that beautiful fully equipped gym in the pictures has been gone for 3 years, now it’s slightly more than a broom closet (the colourful gym in the pictures). Had I known I would have stayed elsewhere as many hotels in the area have excellent fitness facilities.

Like every Selina Hostel there is love in every detail - decoration, lights, good furniture. We had the deluxe room with a lot of space, a table, a sofa, own bathroom and good comfort. The bed was very cosy. We had no warm water for 2 days in our room, but the staff reacted instantly, tried to fix it and we got a free breakfast and some money back. Clean kitchen, enogh fridge space and a cool sofa space in the living kitchen. In total we had a nice and relaxing stay amd would definitly recommand this hostel.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Had a twin room. Bed was comfortable. Aircon was good. Bathroom was nice and shower pressure was good. Breakfast was included and was really nice. This hotel had a laundry room where you could wash and dry your own clothes for €1 for the washing machine and €1 for the dryer. This hotel is within walking distance of downtown San Jose and also Barrio Escalante which has lots of lovely restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

照片跟實際稍有不符，舒適宿舍照片顯示有毛巾，實際沒有。另外，對房型的描述讓人一頭霧水。舒適宿舍，應該是四人間的一個床位而已，但這個房型的描述和照片會讓你誤認為那個是個單間，一個人包房的價格。實際這個房型跟下面的那個標準四人間是一樣的，衹是一個是床位價格，一個是包房價格。 衞生間在房間內，有浴缸，但這種宿舍型房間估計沒人用吧。洗澡時淋浴的水太小。

Muy bien ubicado, a 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad. Excelente atención de todo el personal, desayuno completo, habitaciones amplias y cómodas y la señal de wi fi andaba muy bien. Cuenta con estacionamiento y el bar es excelente

- I sent an email to the hotel the day before to check if they are able to send a shuttle to the airport to pick me up (just to avoid the stress of figuring out transportation), but they only replied once I landed. It wasn’t worth for me to wait for them to come and pick me up. - The room was loft style and very spacious: two stories with two full bathrooms, and kitchenette. I didn’t need them, but they were available. However, the shower upstairs next to the bedroom was missing a door, water was splashing out and making everywhere wet. Also, the shower didn’t drain well. It was gross to have my feet in dirty water… same with the sink, water wasn’t draining well. The hotel provided one hand towel and two large towels. They were old and rugged. I went out to buy my own. The bed was comfortable! So were the pillows & sheets! Thank you for that! - I’m training for a marathon and it was important to me that the hotel had a gym so that I can keep up with my training. This hotel had one treadmill and it wasn’t working. I guess next time I need to check before I book. - My room doesn’t have a window and hence very dark, gloomy, and depressing. Luckily I don’t have to spend too much time here. I told the receptionist and she said that that’s the room that was assigned to me. I let it go. - The hotel is in downtown and walking distance from all major “things to do” in San Jose city. But I have to say that the pictures online look a lot better than the reality of the hotel. - Would I stay here again? Only if I need to sleep somewhere for one night.

I chose this hotel because of its 24 hour service, as we came into San Jose CR on a late flight and needed late check in. The clerk was amazingly nice. She didnt speak English but we managed with Google translate. Since the parking lot was locked, she told us we could park in front of the hotel and nothing would happen to our fancy rental car- we were skeptical but she was right. The hotel is totally basic but clean. The tiny room with no windows to the outside. was fine for one night. The mattresses were clean as was the linen. However the even tinier bathroom had a terrible odor and the faucet was unsteady. Showering was not for the faint-of-hearted. There was a safe on one of the shelves. Since the doors lock is basic I wouldnt leave valuables there. There was a small shared refrigerator next to the reception, that was adequate for our needs. nFor the most part it was quiet and we awoke early to get out of San Jose before the traffic. There is no elevator but we had no problem with the clean and wide, well lit staircase.

I am writing to share my recent experience at Hotel Cultura Plaza in San Jose, Costa Rica, and to caution those considering a reservation at this establishment. During my stay at the hotel, I encountered a significant issue with the room I was assigned. Unfortunately, some of the rooms at this hotel do not have windows and resemble prison cells rather than comfortable accommodations. Understandably, I refused to accept such a room and immediately contacted Booking.com to seek a resolution. To my disappointment, the hotel displayed a lack of cooperation, even after three hours of mediation with Booking.com. Despite our best efforts, the hotel refused to address the issue adequately, leading to the cancellation of my reservation. Furthermore, the hotel has also declined to refund the payment I made for the booking. Throughout this process, their responses were consistently rude and unhelpful, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. In addition to the room issue, I feel it is important to mention that the dining room for breakfast at Hotel Cultura Plaza is extremely small, akin to a small bar with only about four tables. This limited space may make it challenging to find a seat during busy periods, and it can detract from the overall dining experience. Given my disappointing experience and the hotel's uncooperative attitude, I want to urge prospective customers to exercise caution when considering a reservation at Hotel Cultura Plaza. Please be aware of the lack of windows in some rooms, the prison cell-like appearance, and the limited dining space for breakfast. It is my hope that by sharing this message, I can help others make informed decisions and avoid potential frustrations. As consumers, we should be able to expect a certain level of quality and service when choosing accommodations, and unfortunately, Hotel Cultura Plaza fell short of these expectations. Из плюсов в отеле- персонал на ресепшн и большие номера. Завтраки очень скудные. И да, могли бы хоть одну маленькую бутылку воды в номер поставить бесплатно, а то 3 доллара за маленькую это уж слишком!

Stayed here on a tour of Costa Rica, for a total of three nights on arrival and between our extension. Typical city hotel, very comfy and large rooms with big bathrooms, plenty of toiletries etc. Lovely staff, although not very attentive in the main restaurant! We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant - all good. Also a great meal in the Japanese restaurant. It was quite cool, they keep the aircon on quite high and the weather was windy and cloudy so turned it off in our room! Nothing much nearby, very convenient for airport but only a supermarket and McDonalds within walking distance. The park was ok for a quick walk, only a few yards away.
