Hotel berhampiran Bridge of Maria Cristina, San Sebastian

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is very well located and within easy walking distance of beaches, the old town and the shops. We had a room overlooking the road which was very noisy if the window was open, but quiet with the window closed so not a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the towels and toiletries were excellent with a lovely walk in shower. It is an attractive old building which has been completely modernised inside. The staff were friendly and efficient. The roof top bar would have been lovely if the weather had been better but we did manage a glass of wine with our jumpers on and avoiding the showers!

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this lovely boutique hotel in San Sebastian. It is very centrally located - only a short walk from the old town and the beach. The reception staff are so friendly and helpful and gave us some really good restaurant recommendations. The rooms are lovely and very well serviced. The self service breakfast was very extensive and the servers were so friendly. I would really recommend this hotel as a place to stay in San Sebastion and we would certainly stay there again.

Excellent location and best view in town. Definitely will come back

San Sebastián is a great place and Zenit Convento hotel is conveniently located, minutes away from the beach and old town. The facilities in the room are good and the decor neutral and modern. The room we were given (1st floor) looked out onto residential apartment blocks. When we checked in, we were not informed that noisy building work to these properties would be going on during our stay. (I attach views from our room) We did mention this to reception and they apologised. Had I known about either of these I would have requested a room facing away from this awful outlook. We chose Zenit Convento because it had the benefit of a rooftop pool. The pool was closed for the whole week of our stay. The notice stated they were carrying out tests. This too was discussed with reception and they said they were sorry but in fact it didn’t open until the end of June. I cannot find anywhere on their website where this is mentioned and we found this to be misleading and frustrating. Breakfast was a chaotic experience from the very first morning. The table we were given on our first day was missing cutlery and butter. Staff were often not around or too busy to respond to requests or rectify mistakes. I ordered an omelette but was given scrambled egg. I asked for this to be changed. They took it away and then came back with the same plate and told me this was an omelette. Trying to explain that it wasn’t to someone who spoke limited English was difficult. Subsequent days were similar, long waits to get table service, items missing from the table. It was only on day 3 that we realised that a menu in English was available. No one had bothered to offer this to us. As a consequence, despite already having paid to have breakfast included, we decided on our last 2 days to have breakfast in the Taberna Blas opposite the hotel. The evening opening times for the bar are not clear. Sometimes it would still be open beyond 11pm sometimes it would not. We came back to the hotel at 11pm one evening and there were people sitting in the bar with drinks but no staff behind the bar. There were 2 members of staff on reception. We asked them if we could order 2 coffees. They said sorry the bar is closed and the staff have gone home. What are the opening and closing times and why can’t they be consistent and displayed. When we checked in we had 2 bottles of water in our room. We assumed therefore that water was provided free of charge throughout our stay as it is in the gym. When we checked out I was surprised to find water had been charged to our bill. I raised this and was told that only the first 2 bottles are free. This again is misleading and inconsistent. We travel extensively in Europe and rarely are we charged for still water in our room. With a room rate of €400 per night it should be included as part of the room package. Nice new hotel just outside of the city centre of San Sebastian. Hotel is clean, modern and new, with good facilities. But inside a interior design crime. Rooms are small, and with a very weird layout (diagonal bed set up) causing the room to feel even smaller. The Minibar & wardrobe is in the bathroom, which is weird as well. I appreciate the try of the architect, but to me its not working. Breakfast is very good and very cheap (Eur 12,-) Overall a good stay, and I would recommend it.

Spent two nights here at the end of May. We arrived into San Sebastián on the bus from Bilbao Airport and after a 30-minute walk arrived at the hotel. We got to the hotel around midday and were thinking of leaving our bags at reception until the room became available, but after 15 minutes we were able to check in and get our cardkey. The room was very contemporary with a comfortable bed and good storage facilities, a fridge and a safe. As is common in Spain there were no tea of coffee making facilities, but complimentary water was provided. The room had a balcony that looked out over the main road outside, but the room had good soundproofing and we were not disturbed. The bathroom was clean and modern, though was incorporated within the bedroom rather than being a separate room. This meant there was little soundproofing and the frosted glass did not leave much to the imagination! The hotel is about 30 minutes away from the main tourist attractions of San Sebastián, and is in a more residential part of the city. There are some great bars and pintxos restaurants close to the hotel, and in one particular we would recommend is Oliyos. There is no restaurant on site but they do have a coffee bar, though we went out for breakfast both days to a bakery across the road. Ondarreta beach is close by and on the first day of our stay it was warm and sunny and we be spent a few hours there. Overall we were happy with our stay here and would recommend as a base when visiting the city.

Escogimos este hotel para nuestra escapada express a Donosti en alojamiento y desayuno y nos ha encantado! La habitación es muy bonita, moderna, bien equipada, las camas COMODISIMAS, una ducha acristalada muy chula, las toallas muy suaves y absorbentes, secador de pelo ”real” (no el tubo ese sin potencia que suelen ofrecer otros hoteles), con un cartelito en el que se indica que si necesitas plancha alosadora, o cualquier ”ameniti” te lo proporcionan en recepción sin coste adicional. El personal super amable, bien comunicado y con un gran parking. El desayuno no demasiado variado pero es muy completo y de gran calidad. El zumo de naranja es recién exprimido de la máquina (no es de polvitos) y el jamón serrano era ibérico. También ofrecían leche de avena, que en pocos sitios la tienen y me pareció un puntazo. La cafetera a pesar de ser de cápsulas ofrece un café muy rico sin ser el ”aguachirri” que te sueles encontrar en los hoteles. Personalmente nos encantó. Nos dejaron dos postales y una nota de bienvenida con una botella de agua .Lo recomendamos y si volvemos a Donosti no dudaremos en repetir.

El hotel se encuentra en un lugar inigualable, en lo alto del Monte Igueldo, con vistas a la Bahía de la Concha y toda la ciudad de Donosti. Las habitaciones totalmente equipadas, con vistas al mar y la ciudad, el lobby muy cuidado y con estilo y el servicio, además de amable, muy atento. Las cenas y comidas tanto en el restaurante como en la cafetería con las increíbles vistas a San Sebastián son únicas. Ha sido todo un acierto.
