Ellivuori Resort

We were very happy with our room in the Resort, it was spacious, clean, well equipped, had comfortable beds and a covered outside balcony. There are numerous walks and tracks within the Resort property, through the forest with historic sites and magnificent views of the whole area. The lake is stunning with seating on the foreshore. The Resort is well positioned for exploring the area, with walks and the beautiful lake. Sastamala is well worth a visit, also with lovely lake walks.

The lake is beautiful, of course. Unfortunately, the hotel is run as a scam. The photos online are nothing like their actual rooms. While I reserved a room with a lake view, I was given the key to a strange, cold room in the basement under a parking lot with no wifi and narrow beds, like a dorm room. I was then asked to pay an additional 159 euro to change rooms. By then, it was the middle of the night. Finally, the staff gave me keys to a better room -- in which a couple was sleeping, and they were of course surprised to see someone enter with a key! The staff told me to return later, after that family checked out. When I returned a few hours later, they were still occupying the room... It was just one ridiculous mistake after another. At long last, I was able to transfer to the original room I had booked -- after paying twice and being treated quite meanly and aggressively by staff. I was promised a refund because of this horrible experience, but my payment still has not been returned, and the staff does not respond to emails. It's really a pity, because the area is picturesque and the newer buildings are elegant. In the evening, you can see deer grazing at the water.
