Rivelyn Hotel Bar & Restaurant

You cannot go wrong for the price you pay. The staff are all lovely and personable, rooms have been (at the time of writing) recently redecorated and look lovely with nice colour schemes and a nice, comfortable bed, hot shower, easy to use Freeview telly, nice tea and coffee, wardrobe, bed side tables, lamps and good thick curtains. It feels really nice to stay there - we were very comfortable. Going back to the hotel in the afternoon then later at night was really pleasant, I actually looked forward to it. After the pub we'd lay in bed watching Bullseye on Challenge TV and it was just like being at home. Lovely! The lounge is really comfortable and pleasant to sit in, and a safe spot to leave your luggage before you check in and after you check out. The dining and bar areas are also nice, with plenty of space, and it's all very clean and has that traditional seaside B&B feel that's so welcoming. A small but reliable lift is a nice bonus if you're tired or less able bodied! It's fine going from the hotel to elsewhere in Scarborough, but coming back can be a bit of a trek if you're less able bodied or unprepared for the walk.

Stayed with my son 2 nights, welcoming atmosphere. Parking was explained very easy with permit system. Room nice and bright, clean. Everything was working correctly in the room. We choose to have breakfast at the hotel which was reasonable priced, one night we choose to eat from bar menu again atmosphere fine for family’s and very reasonably priced. I booked direct on their website and therefore benefited from discounted stay. Staff were polite and I would be happy to return.

OK. Well, it's a Budget Hotel, so no great expectations. Comfortable room. Clean & Tidy hotel. But it's the staff that take this budget hotel the extra mile... Emma, Nick, Helen, Josh, Lorraine... all Highly Commended to their dedication in making everyone's stay comfortable. I don't think I've laughed as much as I did in the hotel bar in the evening. Often like a scene from Faulty Towers, the staff negotiated their way around many a challenge thrown at them ! However, I'm afraid, the attitude of the owner leaves something to be desired. Not always on site and clearly oblivious to how the staff keep things together on a daily basis. I didn't like the attitude of the owner on arrival, who simply waved a finger, pointing me towards check-in telling me the 'he'll deal with you on reception', no hello, no welcome, no enquiry about my journey. And then whilst I was mid-conversation with a member of staff in the bar one evening, absolutely no acknowledgement of me being there... staff taken away to 'be spoken to' in the kitchen and then taken into reception. You may have bought a budget hotel, as customers we may not have paid top rate, but acknowledge your customers and take time to talk to them. Not once in my 10 days there was I asked how my stay was. I appreciate you've not owned the hotel for long and there are staffing issues, but we're all paying customers that expect a little respect !

Stayed solo for 2 nights, booked a single room but I was upgraded to a double as the room wasn't ready which is a bonus. The room was clean, the bed was clean and comfortable and the toilet and shower worked fine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful The bar was very nice but would be good if it opened a little earlier. All in all a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again

Clean budget hotel comfy bed friendly staff would deffo use again had a fantastic breakfast but at an extra cost but well worth it if my gf go's to any other concerts i would stay here without a doubt its only about 15 minutes walk to open air venue

I paid £115 for 3 nights.Clean room comfy bed and fluffy towels.Looks a bit rough and ready on arrival but overall great value for money.Staff friendly.Great location on South Side of Scarborough. Noisy neighbours with the seagulls but also quite endearing

Clean, friendly, comfortable and value for money Hotel. Loved it. Room was spacious, good choice for breakfast and staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Room size fine. Very good location. Good facilities in bedrooms. Friendly staff. They let us keep our suitcases. Got everything we needed. We had a pleasant stay. Would probably have breakfast if we come again. Thank you.

Very haphazard good breakfasts room cheap price but very dark dingy poor low quality boarding house very noisy from nightclub bar opposite bright lights shone through window keeping us awake and hangers on shouting lingering around drunk outside marleys think it was called. In regards to our room they turn heating off ar night and it resembled north pole freezing cold and not acceptible if have lung disease and need to be warm esp in cold wintery weather as believe they making cut backs but unbearably cold had to go to bed in jumpers fleeces in order to kerp warm carpet and reception dirty as was bathroom and bar but breakfast okay some staff friendly older senior woman maybe boss very surly would not recommend or return far from satisfactory
