This accommodation is in a very nice area. There are many cafés and vintage stores within walking distance, and it’s well connected to public transportation. I was able to reach two different metro stations in less than 10 minutes on foot. I asked the owner for an early check-in, and he gave me a room that was already ready. Upon arrival, a lady at the hostel welcomes you, and you need to add the owner on WeChat to complete the check-in process. My room had a small private balcony and was very spacious and clean. The neighborhood is quiet at night, and all the windows have blackout curtains. I would recommend staying here.

We booked this hotel based on the attractive photos on Trip.com, but the reality was completely different. The room looked nothing like the pictures: a dismantled toilet was waiting for us in the very entrance of the building, there was nobody to check in with, and if it weren't for the (indeed nice) cleaning lady that helped me find the hotel number to check in we wouldn't have known how to access the room. The bathroom was in poor condition, and the entire room had a strong, unpleasant smoke smell as if someone had been smoking inside recently. To make matters worse, the first morning a piece of plaster suddenly fell from the bathroom ceiling while we were using it. I immediately sent a complaint with photos attached, politely asking to be moved to a better room. Unfortunately, after my complaint the room was not even cleaned. Nothing was done to address the issues. Normally I don’t leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable for the price and expectations. I had no choice but to cancel the final part of the booking and will be contacting Trip.com for a resolution. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Great value for money. The host is super response and very nice and accomodating! We could di free laundry :). The room is spacious, and well equipped. The room was clean enough. Location is great! In the heart of a very nice part of Shanghai.

Within walking distance to some nice streets in the French Concession area. Probably 10ish minutes to nearest subway. Checked in by WeChat-ing the owner and he was very friendly!

The decor is rustic, the rooms are clean, the owner is welcoming and provides attentive service, the location is excellent, transportation is convenient, the price is affordable, there are many restaurants nearby, and it is close to Huashan Hospital, Anfu Road, and Jing'an Temple, making it an excellent choice for medical treatment or tourism.

The room was beautiful and spacious, the location was great, and the owner was very nice, helpful and willing to assist.

The worst B&B I've ever stayed in. Here's the video to explain it directly. I arrived at around 7pm. I came to Shanghai to watch a show. This was the one with the best distance from the show. After checking in, I left my bag and went out. I came back at around 1am and found the bed crawling with termites (Video 1). I immediately reported it to the owner. The owner called me and the first thing he did was to blame me for turning on the lights at night? ? ? ? He didn't express any apology. I asked him, even if I didn't go out to watch the show and stayed in the house the whole time, I couldn't live in the dark from 6pm to 12pm without turning on the lights? The owner replied, "Look at what you are arguing about" ? ? ? A hundred thousand question marks. It seems that this B&B has a curfew? Besides, I only turned on one light on the roof (Video 2), and the boss said: If you don't turn on the light at night, the termites will fly over and won't come in (laughing and crying) (Btw: I didn't touch the window at all) Then the boss told me to go to the empty room 401 next door (Figure 4) to check, if there are no termites on the bed, I will sleep in that room, but when I turned on the light in the room, there was a termite crawling on the bed (didn't you say that if you don't turn on the light, you won't come in?), when I replied to the boss that there were termites in this room, the boss cursed in front of me during the call, completely lacking the basic service industry qualities (accent like a middle-aged man from Northeast China), and then commanded: "Turn off the light in 401 after you go out", I was exhausted at this time and didn't want to entangle any more, so I said: "Then I will go back to 402 and meditate on the edge of the bed for a night", the boss didn't respond and ended the call (any decent person would have some verbal expression when hearing that the customer was so miserable I laughed) I sat there until 6am and then I went to the train station to catch the earliest train back to Hangzhou, and then I went home to catch up on some sleep. Then, I didn’t feel comfortable even after sitting there for a few hours. It rained in the early morning. I don’t know if there was a canopy or an external unit of equipment in this house. When it rained, the noise in the house reached more than 50 decibels (Video 3). I endured it until 6am and finally left. The owner of the B&B didn’t apologize at all, didn’t say sorry, and didn’t offer any compensation. I am a very tolerant person. If there was a little bit of normal attitude, I would not have posted this hygiene condition to you. If you want to stay at this hotel, please decide for yourself.
