Ulasan MaxX By Steigenberger on the Bund Shanghai

I have stayed in multiple hotels in SH. Including The Conrad, Renaissance, Pudong Intercontinental and Maxx. Maxx is definitely a hotel with Character, Style, and Color. unlike your everyday & everywhere the same ‘typical 5* hotel’ it has many ‘caring’ features for a truly delightful experience. the flowery scent of the lobby area and the service coffee machine and tomatoes in the lobby, are just some of the small but very delicate warmth that I felt while staying at Maxx. the wooden floor in the room was very good too, especially with kids because carpet floors, how ever much you clean, it does have that raggedy smell with time. but not at maxx. The view? second to none obviously. the location? prime - right in front of the ferry to pudong. and 5-10mins from yuyuan gardens. Especially, the staff. I have had my share of rather unfriendly staff in China. But all of maxx’s staff were sooooo friendly and warm and kind. the door men (both Chinese and western person) - they helped us every time we went up and down the entrance stairs with our pram with the baby, and the check in staff were so caring too. And i see a lot of people complaining about the fact that the staff are not fluent in English. Bro, turn on your google translate man. you are half way across the Earth in China, and no where does it say anywhere ‘our staff are fluent in English’ - ‘when in Rome…’ - But to be fair, Maxx had multiple lady staff who were sufficient in English to my surprise, and she was really nice and helpful. (please give her a raise lol). Anyway I will definitely stay here again w/o even looking at other hotels in SH for sure. 10/10.

Very good location, near to bund, Yuyuan and Nanjing Pedestrian Road👍 Breakfast spread is good too... Service from the staff is so much better than another boutique hotel that I've last stayed in Shanghai. There's free use of laundry service too...

Had to book an extra night since our flight got delayed, and staff was friendly to let us keep the old room with no fuss.

Strategic location, near the bund👍 Opposite of hotel can ride ferry to Pearl Tower (东方明珠）and 陆家嘴. The hotel’s front desk very helpful, can speak English and Chinese. near MRT station (a few miles away)

Extended my stay at this hotel as I like the location. Will stay again

Excellent location and a very nice breakfast with both western and Chinese options. Linda at the front desk was very helpful throughout our stay and we look forward to visiting here again!

Nicely located and beautifully furnished. Unfortunately the assigned room had an horrible view facing a grey dirty wall

Enjoyed my stay here. The room is spacious, well-designed and beautiful. All drinks in the room are complimentary. The view of the Bund from my room was breathtaking. The view was a key criterion in my hotel choice and it certainly didn't disappoint. The location was excellent as it was within walking distance to Yuyuan, the Bund, Nanjing Road and the ferry terminal. The train station is not as accessible but can be resolved easily by taking a private hire car or taxi.

The location is good, very near to The Bund. The front office (especially Cindy and Robby) are really friendly and helpfull.

Miss Linda provided excellent service and was very friendly. It was an excellent stay in the hotel!

The hotel has one of the best location. The room view was perfect. Though I stayed on level 7, the view was still fabulous. The cleaning staff on the level 7 was polite and helpful. The room layout can be improved though, there was no space to put our clothes in the toilet and no area to hang our coats.
