The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa - Skipton

The best thing about this hotel is that you are waited on hand and foot. In a era of self-service it was lovely to have old-fashioned service with smiling people waiting on us hand and foot. Sitting in the lounge for afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks we only had to look round to be asked for what we wanted. At breakfast everything was brought to us - no jumping up and down for juice or coffee. The rooms and the restaurant are also fabulous and the food in both the conservatory and the bistro are excellent. Worth splashing out a treat here.

Superb hotel! The rooms and decor are lovely with very high levels of comfort. Fantastic food and wonderful staff and service. The hotel is in a gorgeous seting and there are wonderful local walks in the Dales. A particular highlight for us was a guided walk from concierge guide Jane Clarke which was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

4th visit for us, but extra special as I proposed to my now fiancée. Very well looked after throughout, impeccable service from staff. Accommodation perfect, food amazing, walks from the hotel are awesome. Loving the new upgrades to the spa too! This hotel does not have an uptight feeling created from an uncomfortably posh environment as you’d get at most places. This is a high end hotel with a homely feel, suits us and have always had a pleasant stay. Look forward to next time!

Have just spent three days at the Devonshire in one of their luxury suites to celebrate my birthday with the hubby and our little dog. Have to say it’s an amazing place felt relaxed as soon as we drove into the grounds of the place! What a beautiful hotel full of little luxury touches in both the suite we had as well as the main hotel areas. The place was so clean and with the log fires burning from afternoons through into the evening was so welcoming and homely. It’s the best dog friendly place we have ever stayed as dogs have access to all lounges and even one of the restaurants and they get a doggy welcome pack. My Alfie loved the grounds and walks around the estate and snuggling down next to the open fires in the evening😂 we also appreciated the outdoor doggy washing station they have made getting his paws clean before coming back in after muddy walks a dream. Have to say the service at this hotel is outstanding the staff were all lovely nothing was too much trouble for them and the way they run service is at a very high standard indeed. Now onto the food well what can I say it was amazing we didn’t have a single meal or snack that we didn’t like. Quality of the food outstanding cooked to perfection and presented beautifully ! This was the best hotel stay I have had in quite a while I enjoyed it even more than the ritz and that’s saying something. Had the best birthday this place really is the whole package stunning scenery and walks, exceptional staff , cosy yet luxurious interior and dog friendly. They have deffo got this place right would recommend it to anyone and we will definitely be going back there. Thankyou for an amazing birthday stay x

Nice room, amazing location excellent breakfast Didn’t have dinner and own staff member let the side down there but the lady on reception was amazing and her service recovery was awesome. She changed a never going again to a defo will give it another go.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was wonderful in every way. The hotel was very clean, in great condition, and well maintained. It was very cosy with open fires and comfortable seating. The staff were very friendly, helpful and always around to assist you (just like the best pre-covid hotels). The food was absolutely delicious, we ate our evening meals in both the Brasserie and The Garden Room, and it was worth the money. Their wine selection is superb as well. I used the gym and spa each day and the gym is well fitted out considering it's not a big space, including free weights, machines and cardio machines. The spa is small but very good, nice pool with steam room and sauna, together with the usual treatments. All very clean and in great condition. The location was perfect - quiet, rural and just a short walk to Bolton Abbey. It's also perfect for visiting Harrogate and Skipton. My wife and I needed a break from the pressures of everyday life and a place to celebrate 20 years, and this did just that. We would definitely recommend staying and we will be returning again. Lovely stuff.
