When we arrived we went to a table to check in. Was never greeted, lady just started typing on her computer. A few minutes later she then asked for my ID and Credit Card. Still at this point, she never said anything too me. Then hands me a piece of paper and says "Highlighted areas". I asked her what she wanted me to do and she again just said "Highlighted areas". I at politely asked her what she needed me to do in the highlight areas, she stated "I shouldn't have to tell you". I asked at this point why she was being so rude, she stated when we came in she said hello to us and we didn't respond. There were 3 of us that walked in, if she did say hello, none of us heard her. Regardless, if she did or not, this is not the way to treat a guest. This was probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed in. Not only were the employees (All) very unfriendly, but the room was not very clean. Charged us $15 for parking, which was not listed on my booking. Room was not very clean. Stayed in the King Suite, which had a fold out couch, but no extra sheets and pillow were provided and there was no chance I was going to go and ask for some after we were already treated. Restaurant was never opened the entire stay. When we checked out, I walked down and handed the, same lady as the night before, my keys letting her know we were checking out. She just handed me a printed receipt and never spoke to me or made eye contact with me. While at the hotel, we read all the reviews, I wish I would have read them prior to booking. For the price we paid, our stay should have been much better. I've stayed at Days Inn, for a lot less than what I paid for this hotel and had better service. . This was one of the first times we've used Trip.com and not sure if we will use it again.

Room 312 in Spark Hilton St. Augustine needs work. Bathroom floor has traces of black mold and toilet is not anchor correctly to the floor. The shower curtain has a tear at one end and liquid hair products were not replenished. We had a poor bathroom experience!!

I originally was booking another Hilton in St. Augustine (Homewood Suites) but it was expensive so the reservationist suggested Spark. I booked it without looking a reviews, but did look later and some of them were concerning but it was just for a short stay of one night. We came to check in around 9 pm and had to give our license plates for parking. There was a music festival (Sing out Loud) going on, so downtown was busy. I'd booked two rooms for me and my husband and my daughter and her two children. I entered my room and noticed there was a garbage can full of trash and a brown paper bag. I called downstairs to tell them, but then noticed towels crumpled up, wet washcloths and slimy soap, with a hair tie on the floor for good measure. They had given me a room that hadn't been cleaned. I guess the fact the bed was made threw me off. I went downstairs to get a new room. They didn't have one with a King bed, so I got two queens. The front desk worker didn't really apologize, just shook her head and said "I'm not going to say anything," like she was used to this kind of problem. The one thing I think she would've said was: "I'm sorry." After that, the room was fine, although we could never get the TV to work. The hotel is in a good location, close to the Fort and the historic district. The shampoos, soap and conditioner are in a large dispenser (not minis) and there are no cups in the room, but there are cups downstairs. You can also get tea or coffee 24/7. The breakfast was bagels, cream cheese, Yoplait yogurt and muffins in cellophane (Bran, Blueberry and Banana). It was fine for what it was. My one complaint about Spark, obviously, is the dirty room and lack of acknowledgment of the inconvenience. You need a key to use the restroom in the lobby. I took photos of the first dirty room and then places in the second where there was a split in the door and paint missing. Apparently the hotel was recently redone, but it looks like a little bit of a sloppy job (at least with painting). The gentleman at the front desk the next morning was helpful.

Worst stay ever. No water bottles, no cups. Security deposit?? Scam. No ice bucket two crap towels. So much attitude at the front desk. Don't acknowledge service animals. Forced a non refundable pet deposit of $125!! Expensive parking (outdoor lot) Stay anywhere else. We do 100+ nights a year. Probably won't do any more Hilton after this.

I was employed by this hotel for 5 hours before the acting GM quit and was never put on schedule again. I have been waiting for a my paycheck in the amount of $70 for five hours worked. The Indian owners have refused to call me but I have full support from the GM who quit. You have to wonder why??? I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Labor AND have spoken with Hilton Corporate. I did speak with Sarah Chandler, who is the lead of the management company overseeing the property who claims she does not handle payroll. In any event, she promised me she’d call me back today after I drove to hotel to pick up my check. I was extremely mis-treated as an employee. Just imagine how they would treat you as a guest. My recommendation is to stay far away from this place. There are much better properties to stay at where you will be treated with respect, enjoy a wonderful hot meal and enjoy all the amenities it has to offer. This hotel has the bare minimum. Stay away from this hotel. You will be happier elsewhere.

We stayed in the hotel in mid-April with a large group. The best thing about the hotel was its location. It was so close to everything! The staff was pretty pleasant, too. The rest was mediocre. The rooms were supposedly renovated, but the pictures on Hilton's website did not represent the reality. Our room 307 looked like it had a minor facelift. The mattress on one of the beds was sunken in one area. The bathroom door was covered with something sticky. The plumbing fixtures in the bathtub were loose. The room was never cleaned during our 2-night stay. Breakfast was underwhelming - 3 types of bagels with cream cheese and jelly options, yogurt, and coffee/tea/orange juice. Certainly not ideal for families with a bunch of kids.

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The recent reviews about the “ updated “ hotel and staff are all true. I did an advanced purchase ( big mistake ) I did digital check again which I always do at any Hilton I stay at and I am always asked for ID at check in just to veirfy and I’m on my way. I DO understand a pre auth charge for parking , any hotel charges etc is put on your card at check in. However, the front desk associate named Sussane put a $150 charge plus a $602 pre auth charge on my card . The $602 was for the advanced purchased I already paid before my stay that did NOT need to be on my card on top of $150. So $750 total pre auth for a $600 pre paid stay? She blamed it on me and said I used digital check in. I ended up checking into room 413 which was disgusting. The tile was cracked . The blinds were broken. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom from the previous stay. I was in the car with my kids for 6 hours and they had the eat so I left the hotel and we decided we didn’t wanna stay there . They settled for a refund for 2 nights ( which I am still waiting for ). I’m told by Michael , the manager 5-7 business days. I’m told by Susanne at the front desk 7-10 business days. When you contact Hilton customer care they contact the hotel for you. I was the told refund was processed on Monday 3/25 then I’m told it’s processed on 3/27 the day I am calling to follow up. They did not want to refund for me for the full stay because I was at the hotel for “ longer then 20 minutes” and Sussane stated they were “ taking pictures of my car” to time how long I was at the hotel. This then goes back to my statement as I did not feel safe here . No where on Hilton does it state that I have a 20 minutes limit . If someone actually cared to look into this further I actually contacted Hilton directly a few days before my stay to try and cancel and get a refund as I was directed too as I read reviews online about this hotel. Upon check out ( and I never slept here ) when the manager Michael was looking at the charges he did say I see what you’re talking about and he reversed the $602 back to me as IT WAS NOT supposed to be there and explained the $150 was only to be on there. Again all okay. ( I have screen shots to prove all this as well) but to be blamed by Sussane the front desk Employee for $602 pre auth charge for using digital check in that Hilton offers is absured, and unprofesional. At times when I called Sussane was very rude . She actually yelled at me about the pre auth charges when she told me I did my self . It’s like she yelled to get a reaction out of me ( which she did) just so she can hang up. Please, look else where for a hotel stay in the historic district. This hotel looks nothing like the pictures and is if need of a serious upgrade. This hotel would probably succeed if they actually took care of it better and address their front desk staff.
