Best service ever. The ryokan provided transport to nearby attractions and also picked us up when we are done for the day. The food was amazing too :)

非常驚喜！！！ 如果想享受一次真正的日式温泉度假服務，這裡是不二之選。 首先，旅館非常新，乾淨，安靜，新穎的日式裝修，感受到每一個細節都用心在打造。泡下温泉那一刻，感覺箱根原來這麼美好！ 其次，我看之前的評論提到交通不便，其實不然！因為一般攻略都建議大家買箱根兩日交通票，5000日元/人，可以無限次乘坐箱根的8種交通工具。我們跟着地圖，從箱根湯本一直玩到桃園台，再從桃園台1號站台坐10分鐘巴士到台ヶ岳下車就到了，很方便的呢。 最後，從酒店門口的車站乘坐小田急快速車去御殿場，建議大家頭一天先確認車站的發車時刻，通常1小時才有一趟。大概40分鐘就到。都是可以用交通票免費去。 真心推薦大家選擇這家店！ PS:在箱根湯本站有寄送行李服務，小件1000日元/件，可以把行李直接送到指定的箱根範圍的酒店。這個服務不要太好。

The hotel just sits by the lake, so the view is absolutely stunning. Service is excellent and room size exceeds your expectations. As the hotel is quite dated, it has so many layers that you cannot easily find elevators to go to different parts of the hotel.

Convenient next to the train with elevator from near the train up to the hotel floor. Hotel has a really nice onsen with both indoor and outdoor pools. They also provide a variety of different size kimonos that can be used around the hotel and in the onsen.

Yama No Chaya has its own beauty and serenity. I personally don’t find it hard to locate - 2 bus stops away from Hakone Yumoto station + a 5 minutes walk are worth the stay. (Bus service stopped for one of the days due to bad weather and we walked for 20 minutes to Hakone Yumoto Station - all good) The team is very hospitable - they also have some English and Chinese speaking staff otherwise simple English is not an issue to communicate. Our butler - Sandip always carry a smile with him, and he ensured we are very well taken care of. Every morning, the team will prepare heat pack and umbrellas for us (it was raining and snowing). In the evening, they made tea and prepared snacks (vary from mochi to sushi) for us upon our returned. The room we booked is Yamano Ichigo (main wing) - just nice for 2. The viewing platform was where we relaxed every evening and we soaked our tiredness away in our very own private onsen at the basement. Despite of having our own private onsen, I still went to visit 3 other public onsen within the Ryokan - you will not be disappointed. Our room came with daily breakfast and we added on dinner for 1 night. I must say the chef and culinary team put in their passion and effort to prepare all the dishes. It’s not common for a visitor like me to taste Kaisekai cuisine which I enjoyed very much. You need to take time and an empty stomach to full experience it :) However, my partner and I weren’t used to heavy breakfast and our butler noticed it - we get to change to western style for the rest of the stay which was equally delicious. We are thankful that we minimised food wastage. Overall, we felt pampered during our stay at Yama no Chaya :) I will return again in the future when I visit Hakone.

We visited Hakone Kuori-tei (仙石原久の葉 / Sengokuhara Hisanoha) on 19 November 2025 and stayed for 2 nights while exploring Hakone. Located in the peaceful Sengokuhara area, the ryokan offers a quiet and relaxing escape surrounded by nature. With only 8 rooms, the ryokan feels private, cosy, and calm. We stayed on the 2nd floor in Room 205, which had good space to comfortably accommodate 2 adults with 24-inch luggage. Every morning, we enjoyed a beautiful shimmering view of the autumn leaves, glowing under the morning sunlight — a perfect start to the day. Do note that the 2nd floor has no lift, only staircases. However, the staff were very helpful and assisted with carrying our luggage, which we truly appreciated. Our room had a simple bathroom without a shower, but the ryokan’s onsen on Level -1 was clean, soothing, and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast and dinner were included, and dinner offered a choice of shabu-shabu or sukiyaki. We tried both and loved them — tender meat, fresh vegetables, and delicious, comforting flavours. One of the most special highlights is the free-flow drink station with: • ☕ Coffee • 🍺 Craft beer • 🍶 Sake • 🥃 Highball • 🍷 Umeshu（梅酒） • 🧃 Orange & apple juices • 🥤 Soft drinks Guests can bring drinks back to their room, making evenings extra cosy. Parking is designated for ryokan guests, and there are plenty of parking spaces, making arrival and departure smooth. The staff were warm, polite, and attentive — adding to the peaceful atmosphere of the entire stay.

I love everything about this hotel: the room for us to overlook  the lake, the breakfast, the dinner, the services, the hot spring pools(especially the open-air one), and so on. What attracts us most is the shop. It sells many good products and is definitely worth visiting. Don’t buy too much in Tokyo or in a big city; come here and enjoy shopping!

My wife and I traveled all the way from Canada to Japan to celebrate my recent graduation, and booking a night at Hakone Yumoto Aura Tachibana was the best decision we made for our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was nothing short of world-class. We arrived early around 1:30 PM to drop off our luggage before tackling the Hakone sightseeing loop, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, seamlessly taking our bags so we could explore unburdened. When we returned in the evening, check-in was smooth, and we were made to feel so welcome. We stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room with an Open-air Bath, and it was a dream come true. The hotel kindly accommodated our request for a high-floor room with a beautiful, photogenic view of the surrounding Hakone mountains. Soaking in our private open-air bath after a long day of walking was the ultimate relaxation. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, perfectly blending modern comfort with traditional Japanese aesthetics. However, the absolute star of the show was the food. We had both dinner and breakfast included, and the Kaiseki (traditional multi-course) dining experience was phenomenal. Every single dish was a work of art—intricately prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with seasonal flavors. The dining ambiance was serene and intimate, making our graduation celebration feel incredibly special. The staff even helped us select some wonderful Japanese drinks from their menu to toast to the occasion. If you are looking for exceptional service, mouth-watering food, and a deeply relaxing atmosphere, look no further. We left feeling completely refreshed and cannot recommend Aura Tachibana highly enough! - Devopriya & Debjani

Hi everyone, It was very beautiful place to stay, very peaceful, clean and comfortable. Large room, beautiful view and onsen was very good. To those not travelling by car, you need to get a bus Hakone freepass to get around. You can purchase it online, this is a big help. One of the biggest problem was when we arrived the bus station at bus stop no. 252 ( Sengoku-kogen), we called the hotel to arrange to be pick up from the bus station no. 252, we have terrible language problems. They don't understand where was bus stop 252. They don't recognise there is a coffee shop, Lawson and little police station. Finally we have to pull our luggageas all the way to the hotel. Majority of the road was uphill and very little lighting ... Near bus stop number 252, you can see Lawson, a coffee shop and little police station. On the second day, the shuttle bus service took us out to the musuem. We walked back from the museums, it took about 90mins to walk back to the hotel. We were told the bus ticket have to purchase at the counter Tokendai. We were stucked in the hotel for two days, because we really don't know where to apply which bus tickets. On the third day, the hotel shuttle took us to another musuem, we were very thankful a lady from a musuem inform us we can get the ticket Hakone free pass online. On the fourth day, we just realised Tokendai ( cruise) very close to the hotel. Luckily we managed to get around for the last day of our stay. Overall we enjoyed the stay. The receptionists were very polite and tried to help. We have communication breakdown, they were continually apologises. Big thank you for the trip.com to solve the problem.

跨年在這裏度過美好一夜，服務員幾乎不通人和外語，卻友好善於溝通，先訂了公共浴室，後來剛好有空位改了帶私湯的，滿意度提高很多！酒店位置離箱跟湯本站很近，出租車1000日元以內，後來打不到車我們帶着孩子步行十五分鐘到車站也很舒服🏳️🌈
