Beautiful colonial hotel. From the terrace, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the white city of Sucre. Highly recommended.

Unquestionably the nicest hotel in Sucre and located one block from the main square. Hands down the best in town. It has an incredibly beautiful interior as you would expect from a UNESCO World Heritage site and it is constantly being rehabilitated and upgraded. The cellar bar is only exceeded by the rooftop bar that provides incredible views of the city and the surrounding mountains. Sunset at the rooftop bar is a local favorite. Breakfasts and guest services are what you would expect from a 5 star hotel and doesn't disappoint.

We had a master suite which was huge! Everywhere is filled with paintings and antiques. The cellar restaurant is very grand with an excellent menu and wine list although wines are not priced. The roof top bar has wonderful views, lots of cocktails, good menu and service plus you can reserve a table here as well as in the formal restaurant. Staff were very helpful and laundry was returned on the day we put it in. Good hot and cold breakfast buffet. Just a couple of things: the bathroom could really do with modernising the shower, and oddly for a 5 star hotel there were no bathrobes, slippers or hair dryer. Maybe I could have asked for a hairdryer.

We spent two nights in this lovely, historic property two weeks ago. The staff, especially the proprietor and bartender (Rene?), made our visit very welcoming and comfortable. It's not every property where you are greeted by the proprietor, and he was visible throughout our stay, clearly proud of his fine establishment. The decor is very well suited to the history of the building, and the small museum in the basement is a hidden treasure. One afternoon, we spent a few hours in the bar. The bartender offered a tour of the basement, including the meeting rooms and artifacts, while he also served us drinks and snacks. He was very thoughtful and attentive, and he was especially patient with our very poor Spanish. Breakfast consisted of a nice variety of fruits, breads, meats and cheeses. The omelet station was an unexpected bonus. The breakfast host was very friendly and helpful. Our room (206) faced an air shaft but was very quiet. The bed was somewhat worn, but the antique-style furnishings were beautiful and made us feel like we were staying in a much more expensive hotel. There was no shortage of hot water or water pressure in the large shower. The location of the hotel, one block from Sucre's main plaza, is ideal. Many of Sucre's sights and restaurants are within a very short walk of the hotel. The area felt very safe, even at night. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and we will certainly stay here when we return to Sucre.

Fabulous hotel which is close to the centre and has many historic details. The room was really warm and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room and there was plenty of choice. I really enjoyed the rooftop terrace - great cocktails and food.

Stayed here as part of a tour group. It is a beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of the city with a rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Rooms look over courtyards and are nicely appointed. Wifi is available throughout the hotel and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is nice but ordering an omelet takes time. Our room had issues: when you first entered the smell of chemicals is almost overwhelming. The door would only open with a key, the door handle just turned. The room was cold and we had to ask for extra blankets. Also the room was not noise proof, with people passing just outside the door were easily heard into the evening. A very nicely appointed hotel but needs some improvements.

My family from USA, Brazil & Bolivia (9 persons). Celebrated my daughter’s & my birthdays together for 3 days. Hotel blocked a group of rooms and gave us especial price. Everyone loved the place, drinks at the rooftop bar. Unforgettable. Gourmet dinner at the Watanay restaurant in the underground. It is my fourth stay. Couldn’t be happier. Should be on everyone’s bucket list. Sucre is colonial, quit lovely city with great restaurants

The staff at this hotel were the most helpful that we have come across on our travels in Bolivia. They went out of their way to help us on a practical level. The hotel itself is beautiful. The receptionist, Siria Sandoval was exceptionally helpful.

The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and basement rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues. The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it. There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!). There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area. I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave.
