We (two adults, two kids) booked a fairly last minute trip and based on the price and reviews, decided to stay at the Best Western Harrisburg North. We selected a king suite with a jacuzzi, so the kids could sleep on the pull out couch and enjoy the novelty of the "bubble tub." We arrived around 9:30 PM and we were initially located on the third floor, however there was an issue with a strong chemical scent in the room (there was an air purifier as well) and the night clerk happily booked us into the other available suite on the first floor. Despite being on the first floor and down the hall from the gym, the pool door, the eating area, and the lobby, we heard absolutely no loud noises and were very happy with the location of the room. The room was very clean and the remote controls had protective/clean sleeves over them. We were disappointed that there was no door to separate the bedroom from the living room as there was no way we could watch TV without waking the kids up, but we made do. The pull out couch had a thin mattress which was surprisingly more comfortable than we thought, though it did squeak when one of the kids shifted. The refrigerator wasn't cold, but it was enough to keep the drinks cooler than room temperature and there was mold on the shelves. The king sized bed was not comfortable, there were no chest of drawers to place clothes, and the "closet" alcove didn't have bar to hang clothes, though there was a shelf. The room was suitable solely for sleeping. Overall, the room was adequate for sleeping and the kids had a lot of fun in the jacuzzi tub which served as their bath after a day at Hershey Park. The tub was also pretty clean. The bathroom was adequate, although there was no bath fan and we couldn't leave the door open as the mirror on the door would grant no privacy. The kids used the pool for about an hour and it was small but clean and sufficient to cool off. There were plenty of chairs and loungers, and it was open until 10 PM. We did not use the gym, but it had a few machines some free weights and an assortment of medicine balls. The breakfast was good, nothing overly special, but hot, fresh, consistent and well-stocked. We made use of it each morning and the woman who replenished the food and cleaned the tables was very nice and always wore a smile. Overall, the cost of the hotel and the service that we received whenever we asked for more towels/blankets/pillows were well worth the stay. The staff were always very kind, courteous, and helpful, and we would recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking to not break the bank and is just simply looking for a place to watch TV for an hour or two before going to sleep.
