Schoone Oordt Country House

Upon arriving at the Schoone Oordt, you are welcomed by friendly professional staff who cannot go far enough to ensure your stay spectacular. My wife and I had the most amazing stay at this beautiful venue in swellendam. I cannot recommend this venue any higher, for anybody passing down through South Africa / garden route / Cape Town area. You must visit this venue, you will be amazed. Thank you very much to all the team at Schoone Oordt, the next time we are in South Africa, we will be staying again but for longer.

This is a beautifully renovated house in Swellendam, with well manicured gardens and a small pool with sun loungers. All the staff were lovely and the food was great. One day we asked for a picnic basket as we were going for a hike in Bontebok NP and they provided a fantastic array of food for us. Be aware that breakfast is a three course meal and, whilst delicious, will leave you stuffed! There was only a small issue with the room that means they didn’t receive 5 stars and that is that the shower looked great but was unfortunately just a very underwhelming dribble. We had a negroni one night but it was not great - no ice was used, no orange, and it felt a little slap dash in approach when the rest of our experience was excellent.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted with such friendliness and hospitality The rooms were beautifully furnished, clean and spacious. Throughout our stay, unfortunately just one night, we were treated like royalty. I can definitely recommend Schoone Oordt Country House and will stay there again if I get the chance.
