Fantastic rooms that have lovely small details. Surprisingly very modern rooms for the older building. Loved my stay here and the staff are very attentive! Only complaint could be the one lift, but only an issue at peak times (check out and dinner time) and luckily only 4 levels of rooms also.
Also great little ironing board cupboard in hallways with microwave too

This little gem is incredible! Great modern hipster style vibe and decor. We had a seamless check-in and we're even able to check in early! Staff were so incredibly helpful and couldn't do more to share information or help us understand what's going on in the area. The double room was awesome and super clean with great beds and pillows. We loved the couch in the room, great selection at the minibar and we had a record player in the room. Breakfast was great downstairs and reasonably priced, we also were able to get a bit of a later checkout which was awesome. The area is 15 or so minute walk to the city and this awesome rooftop bakery was a super close 5 minute walk up the road (AP Bakery) - although we do recommend booking ahead. Another 15 minute walk we had the Surry Hills Markets that were great too! Overall, awesome hotel, great location and incredibly helpful staff! Would absolutely stay again.

Very nice hotel, the hotel reception staff is professional and polite. The room is large enough and the breakfast may be great. This the first hotel we lived in Sydney. The location of the hotel is also very good for many important sightseeing places in Sydney. The only problem is the high room rate. Hope it can be improved later.

The location is very convenient. One can walk to nearby attractions and the Museum station for transit to and from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed me to check in early and check out one hour late. However, the WIFI is a bit slow and I didn’t get the connection for my computer unless I put it next to the microwave oven near the door, making it a bit inconvenient for me to do my work or conduct online meetings. The breakfast choices were the same during the whole time of my stay. I’m glad that I only stayed for 3 nights.

OK, so this review is through the lens of a Diamond Accor member. This means that, yes, I have stayed at Accor hotels a lot and so have become used to certain things as being standard across the network. But going to this ibis, and it's like it almost doesn't belong in the network. Starting with the good - the location. Easily walkable from Museum station if coming straight from airport, and not far at all to buses, light rail etc. Shopping options are good for essentials (over the road in World Square mall, downstairs is a Coles) and plenty of places to eat out (Chinatown). I probably should have sussed something might be wrong at check-in. One person serving one other guest. Three others in the back room just talking. After a couple of minutes, one comes out to serve. Must have had her attention for about 30 seconds before she walks away, and someone else comes out. It didn't end there. Three people to check us in. No acknowledgment of Diamond status. No mention of the promised room upgrade as a member benefit (I know they can't guarantee it, but customer service would dictate to at least acknowledge they checked). The fact that I had checked on the Accor app before arriving and seeing that there were rooms in the higher brackets available during our stay, it was a surprise to not be offered one, or to not even have it mentioned. We did get the welcome drink voucher, but upon getting to our room, there was no welcome gift. This is usual in all Accor chains - even the ibis and ibis Styles! I just think the mgmt here is looking to cut corners wherever they can. Getting these little acknowledgmentsof loyalty make the difference and in this case, would make the other things like a tiny bathroom and no working AC a little more tolerable. An apparent 'upgrade' to their fire systems means you are now advised to shower, hair dry, and even deodorant spray all inside the tiny bathroom, with the door closed. Or risk a $1600 callout fee which will be charged to your account. Erm, maybe get better fire systems that aren't activated by deodorant? The TV had a dangling sensor underneath it which when all the lights were out, made for a torch-like presence so the TV plugs had to be switched off each night. There are blackout blinds which work well, and there is a nightclub/pub next door for which you can hear the sounds but nothing too disturbing. Especially when you can hear the next room's convo word-for-word and nighttime coughing! Breakfast on L2 does the job - buffet style, cereals, pre-cut fruits etc. Just don't ask for anything that isn't in front of you...it doesn't exist. I asked for a coffee...was pointed to the coffee push-button machine. Not quite the fresh experience I had wanted. Asked for fried eggs - not possible and got pointed to the scrambled eggs (which I had seen and did not want). Asked for oat milk...pointed to the machine with cow's milk. Hello, griping stomach pains. The machine only made coffee or tea. No warm milk on its own

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us.

Nice & huge hotel with many entrances during day and nite. The housekeeping was a super first class service during my stay for 2 rooms / 8 nites. Things around the hotel. I like the room except the amenities that gave just some items.

I had booked two 3 BR suites. We have all stayed there before and enjoyed the location, size of the suites etc. However this time we had some serious concerns and none of the 10 people in my party are likely to stay there again. We arrived at 3 pm to check in – the advertised time. Our suites were not ready but we were told it would be 10 minutes until one of them was. It was almost an hour and a half! Then the second one was ready about another 20-30 minutes after that. This was completely unacceptable. We were given a key to the arrivals lounge and assured there would be tea, coffee etc available. It was a small room, with multiple groups squeezed in, and with no access to running water, so the coffee machine etc were not much use. The two units were OK, but very tired looking – especially the couches. For the price we paid, we expected better. There had been some mix up with my credit card when we checked in, and it turned out that I was charged twice for one room, and reception rang TWICE at around 10 pm to talk to me about it. Again, this was unacceptable.

I had previously read the comments before booking at the capsule hotel as I usually do to avoid disappointment of available amenities, staff etc… when checking in I found the location in the heart of the CBD perfect with food vendors straight across from the hotel and a 2 minute walk from the light rail that takes you straight to the main shopping district and the rocks for all your art and entertainment. Staff were very kind and approachable even the guard at the bottom floor bar exit door was friendly to me when exiting at night. I found noise never to be an issue in the pods, although I did wear headphones at night time to listen to music but the room is practically always quiet. I was worried about how the air flow would be in the pods and about the mattress comfort from previous reviews thinking I may have got a one way ticket to a hot box scenario but I found it to be very comfortable with great airflow, I had the air flow on 1-2 levels at different times of the day and they still had an option for a third stronger airflow that I found unnecessary. I loved coming back to the pod for some RNR between my busy schedule over the three days I stayed here, the mattress for me was so comfortable and reminded me of the tatami mats in Japanese culture that they sleep on so as a westerner it actually opened my perspective to understanding Japanese culture better. I found that the shared bathrooms were always clean and never to crowded at both night and day. The last thing I can comment about is the storage was a great size I like that they had a hanger in your card accessed locker to dry your towel out through the day and still stay seperate from my belongings. Overall as a solo female traveller I would highly recommend the capsule hotel Sydney. I have stayed at hostels in Sydney close by to this hotel but that extra privacy allowed me to not feel like I wanted to stay out all day till bedtime. This was a last minute trip and if I ever had to book another last minute stay in the city I will book here.

PPengguna TetamuI had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). This hap
PPengguna TetamuAmazing stay always at Holiday inn.I like the spacious rooms at Holiday Inn Macqauire Park. Check out was extended to noon. Thx for the favor. Breakfast is a plus and there are ample parking spaces at the premises.
PPengguna TetamuPrefect view, especially on Saturday for the fireworks.
Took 30 mins to waited for check in tho. Somehow there were a lot of people on that day.
PPengguna TetamuExcellent location, extremely clean facilities. Staff were super helful and breakfast included was wonderful. A microwave in the rooms would have been great, but i made do.
JJasTalbHayI stayed at Meriton for 9 nights with my son in Oct 2022. The location is excellent, with the Townhall train station & light rail located within 2mins walk from the building. There is also a Woolworths next block. The major shopping district is within less than a minute walk / located at the next light rail station, QVB station.
One of my biggest pet peeve, are the lifts, there are 3 of them and they run from carpark levels all the way till the top floor which is probably in the 50s, we had to wait really long to take the lifts. Meriton apparently leases out their carpark lots too, hence the wait for the lifts is even longer during weekends when there’s a mix of the existing room guests, new guests checking in with their luggages as well as the people picking up their cars from the carpark. It’s just a hot mess.
Meriton should really consider segregating the lifts to serve different floors. And have the people who are picking up their cars, to use other lifts instead of main lobby lifts.
I like how the room is equipped with a Washer & dryer, was able to have clean set of clothings everyday. I couldn’t start the dryer, called for help and had to wait more than 30mins, the handyman only came after my second call.
Although I stayed at the property for 9 nights, the room-keeping was very basic , just a change of new set of towels, bed was made, disposal of rubbish and replenishment of condiments (like coffee, creamery and sugar) and bathing supplies. No vacuuming of floor or washing of the bathroom, hence the room is dusty and the bathroom especially the rubber tubings surrounding the glass door has mould too. Also, the frequency of house-keeping was inconsistent, initially was once every 3 days for first 6 days and then it became everyday.
In conclusion, it’s still an excellent place to stay because of strategic location but do manage your expectations when it’s comes to the upkeep of the rooms, the hotel lifts and level of services. By the way, when I was there, the hotel lobby was undergoing renovation, so hopefully the lift situations improve.
PPengguna TetamuExcellent location right across QVB -- check-in was also smooth and the receptionist gave us an early check-in at 11am which was very much appreciated. Rooms seemed new possibly because they have been refurbished, very generous size and everything you need in a business hotel. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Sydney!
PPengguna TetamuA great place to stay near Light Rail, Chinatown, Central, and shopping. Our room was excellent, and we found the reception staff always welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. It is an excellent hotel for location, for guests who may have difficulty walking up and down sloping streets, as it is in a comparably level area.
PPengguna TetamuCould improve more on the check in service.
I booked this room in 2 different booking (on 2 platforms) as there was changes to our flight schedule. And the booking was done under my mum’s name as leading guest, other 3 person as other guests.
When arrived at the hotel for check in, the staff insisted us to present the leading guest’s credit card/bank card for deposit, don’t allowed me to use my bank card for the deposit, or else they have the right to deny our check-in even I had explained that my mum didn’t bring her bank card as we are sponsoring her expenses in Australia, which I had also showed them the check-in coupon from the platform with full payment confirmation. They DO NOT ACCEPT other guests’s bank card/ credit card for the deposit even the names are shown in the booking confirmation voucher. At that time the attending staff has no intention to help us to resolve this issue but to ask us to settle ourselves in the booking App (which at this point the modification of the guest names are not allowed anymore in the App).
After almost 20min of struggle with the platform app which we still couldn’t resolve it and after some hard time and negotiation with the staff, finally he agreed to let us check-in using my bank card to pay for the deposit.
This is the first time I encounter such rule of insisting leading guest bank card for deposit ONLY, and do not accept other guest’s bank card for deposit payment. I hope the hotel can state this rule clearly in their introduction page to avoid similar circumstances happen again.
Generally it’s a good stay with good price for the location and the amenities of this hotel. Easily accessible with tram and train. Many attractions within walking distance.
PPengguna TetamuYou’ll want to read this, its GREAT!!! My partner and I checked into the Greenacre Hotel on November 24th. After checking in, the desk clerk brought us to the entrance of the hotel building and handed us our room card keys. He then said to us “ The bathrooms are located down the hall outside of your room so don’t leave your room without your cards. You also need them to get into the building so make sure to always have your card on you. I don’t want to receive a call in the middle of the night that you’re locked out of your room”. Totally reasonable , I can understand how that could be frustrating. Many people, throughout the night, forgot their cards in their rooms. How do I know this? They body checked themselves against their door screaming “ let me in”. That wasn’t even the bad part. That I could put up with. The next day, my partner and I woke up early because we had an International Flight to catch. My partner went downstairs to load the car and then I followed about 10 minutes later. When I came outside the building, my partner shouted something at me but it was to late. The door to the building shut behind me. What my partner yelled at me was “ Don’t let the door close, the card isn’t working”. When I tried my card on the door, it just beeped and flashed red. I tried my partners card, the same thing happened. We were locked out and we had to return our rental car within the hour and catch our flight. I immediately called the desk clerk/manager. I told him what happened and his response was “ What do you want me to do, I’m in bed”……..well here’s an idea for you, GET OUT OF BED!!!!!!! I WAS FURIOUS!!! We had both of our cards and it was nowhere near checkout time!!! What kind of response is that, here’s the correct response: “ Oh my goodness, I am so sorry sir. I am currently unavailable but I will send someone there to open the door. Again I cannot apologize enough, this is totally unacceptable. Please send me an email at your earliest convenience and I will provide some kind of compensation, this is truly unacceptable. There will be someone there within the next half hour. Here’s my personal number in case he doesn’t show.” But of course that was not his response. After a bit of arguing, he let me know that someone was going to be opening up the bar downstairs within the next half hour. So, we waited. After a half hour, a gentlemen did show up and I have to give him praise. He moved with urgency and at the end of the day got us back into the building and we made our flight. I still can’t get over “ I’m in bed” , what is that! I’ve worked in the tourism industry for 5 years and this whole experience was just totally unprofessional. I’m looking forward to your response.
