Wrapped in the cashmere caress of the unique five star boutique on a cliff overlooking the Ionian Sea in a magical garden setting of glowing lights and beautifully appointed terrace, the story of elevated Sicilian cuisine tells a story of the Etna elements, authentic produce and traditions elevated with modern techniques set apart by its inner beauty. From exceptional amuse bouche to amuse bouche to an forgettable bread course with a whipped sweet cream hand turned butter, through each chapter of our selected menu of Sicilian flavors including a delicate crisped zucchini pasta to the perfect bite of Al Dente lasagna of ragu to a trio of perfectly seasoned and delicately grilled meats to a fantastical finish of miniature Italian desserts all beautifully plated and intellectually stimulating of the senses; topping a special evening of lovingly prepared food and beautifully presented and paced service. We very highly recommend the Batu and San Pietro, five stars all the way and without the tired forced pretentiousness so common now, from the moment we stepped out of our car thru every experience from breakfast to pool to coordinated excursions. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to post a review about our recent stay at the Grand Hotel San Pietro Taormina. Amazing, best kept secret! From our arrival to departure, (my wife and I stayed for 5 nights), magnificent location, very comfortable spacious room with a balcony terrace overlooking the Ionian Sea, and high grade amenities. The breakfast spread was so good that it set us up for the day. The town centre is a 10 minute comfortable walk but the hotel also operates a shuttle service every hour for guests…you have to book it ahead..we used it a couple of times…great! They do have a couple of restaurants, we had lunch one day, again excellent food menu and service. Most of the time we were out on day trips and ate at local restaurants in the evening, again the hotel was very helpful with suggestions and their recommendations were great. We have stayed at Four Seasons and Belmond group in different destinations, incidentally Taormina has both of them but must say San Pietro excelled, no regrets. There is a Hindi phrase ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ which literally means’the Guest is God’ and is truly applicable to our experience at the San Pietro. Finally we must mention the staff who were brilliant particularly Virginia Proietti the Hotel Guest relations Manager and Stefania who looked after us at breakfast. The staff was exceptional, the views were incredible and the breakfast was great, especially the amazing coffee! Everyone loved this hotel and would recommend it highly! The room balconies provide a great place to watch the sunrise over the sea and the bar patio is a great place to have a drink and watch the the beautiful evening sunlight.

On the 9th of May me and my friends were visiting Taormina. We visited 3 more hotels to have some coffee or aperitivo. It’s the only hotel that I want to write a review cause the staff there did our visit an amazing experience. Antonella and Fabio made us feel really welcome the hospitality that showed us was amazing especially because we were there just for a few hours, like visitors. Antonella showed us around the hotel. I wish every time I go to a hotel I find young and so smiley people like them, passionate for work and the experience and they leave behind

This is a beautiful hotel with wonderful views overlooking the sea. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable with a large balcony. It is about a 15min walk into central Taormina but they have a free hourly shuttle bus into town.

I was on holidays in Taormina with my cousin, intrigued by the images of a table suspended above Isola Bella we headed for some panoramic photos at the Grand Hotel Sanpietro and its unique spot, the surprise was not only the table but also the beautiful Bar located on the first floor the "Belvedere" incredible view and "summer" colors, the best surprise was the beautiful and perfectly designed cocktail list with delicious and beautifully presented cocktails, the bartender Christian was specially welcoming and intrigued us with his creations as well as many stories and historical notes. Really good! We will recommend it.

The San Pietro set a new low in charging a coperto(cover) charge for a drink in their lobby. Without warning and in my experience unprecedented. As it happened I had 8 people for a pre-dinner drink and the coperto came to 40 euros. One of my Italian friends said that they wouldn’t try that on an Italian! Too bad because I liked the hotel in many ways.

Spectacular. From the moment we arrived we ft like VIP. Virginia with Guest Services escorted us to our room and was available throughout our magnificent stay for all our need and questions. Marco the bar manager was beyond accommodating and welcoming. Young and handsome Andreas at the front desk perfectly managed our car service and city van shuttles. The entire restaurant staff was perfect. We enjoyed taking the shuttle to town for daytime shopping and evening dinners. The view is simply incredible. We had an expansive terrace and enjoyed our time relaxing while enjoying the seaside air. Beautiful pool, gardens and the hotel room feels brand new as it's just been completely renovated. We plan to return next year. Go to LA Botte for dinner. A Taormina classic!
