The Hatch Inn

Enjoyed an impromptu meal at the inn with my sister this evening. The food was lovely: generous birder and skinny fries, and a bowl of mussels. The log burner was a welcome treat after a cold walk. The staff, were attentive and welcoming. I’ll be back soon.

A real ‘find’. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful, great food at dinner and breakfast, comfortable and clean accommodation. The owners have taken great care in providing a warm ambience Above all, excellent value. Will definitely return in the future

We stayed at The Hatch Inn for one night as I had a conference to attend the next day. Our room was beautiful, the evening meal was delicious, the beer was great and breakfast was perfect. The hosts were incredibly helpful and it all added up to excellent value. We hope to visit again.

A wonderfully welcoming place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, everything available that one would want. The bed was comfortable. The evening meal downstairs, and the breakfast were both superb. The landlord and Clare were so warm and friendly. What more could one want...

The bedroom was comfortable, and provided adequate space for a short stay, the bathroom was clean, and the shower excellent. Grab rails would be helpful for elderly visitors. Dining arrangements were consistent with those for a village pub, but the food was of a high standard with more variety - though were only there for one night, and cannot comment on the frequency of changes. There was plenty of good beers, and the wine (we had a local Chardonnay) was good to drink. The staff and management were extremely attentive, and welcoming. A good value, though for persons above medium height there are some challenging doors, and the stairs are not easy for some people.

Stayed for two night and friends joined us for dinner on the first night. The Chicken Gnocchi was lovely. We stayed for two nights and had a lovely bay fronted room above the main entrance. Lovely room with a heated towel rail that you could put on as required. Fantastic option as means there is no need to change towels each day when they don't dry. A nice touch, as well as a pod coffee machine in the room - why don't all places do this rather than give you a plastic sleeve of poor quality instant? Fresh milk also available in a small fridge on the corridor - thoughtful. The avocado breakfast with poached eggs and seeds was lovely and I also sampled a lovely scrambled egg and bacon. Would highly recommend and the staff were all lovely. Really friendly and excellent service.
