Hotel berhampiran Libraria Tirana Times, Tirana

He visitado muchísimos países, y en hoteles de todo tipo, y en alguna oportunidad me ha tocado pedir “late checkout” o lo que es lo mismo “salida tarde” porque mi vuelo de regreso a casa sale muy tarde ese día. En este caso pagué casi 600€ por prácticamente 2 noches, eran 3 noches, pero la primera noche llegué a las 2 de la madrugada del aeropuerto, es decir, prácticamente 2 noches, cuando en Albania los hoteles están muy baratos, pero preferí agarrar una cadena conocida por si acaso, Y AL PEDIR LATE CHECKOUT DE 2h porque mi vuelo salía a las 18:50h de la tarde, ME DIJERON QUE NOOOO, cuando el hotel estaba recién estrenado y estaba prácticamente vacío!!!!!!!! ME PARECIÓ MUY MUY MAL, TUVE QUE ESTAR DANDO VUELTAS POR TIRANA Y COMER SÚPER TARDE, PARA PODER HACER TIEMPO HASTA LAS 16h que me fui al aeropuerto. PIENSO RECOMENDAR EL HOTEL? NO!!!!, PIENSO VOLVER??? NO!!!!, no sólo por esto, sino porque está lejos del centro, el restaurant Terra del hotel es carísimo, y mira que a mi casi nada me sorprende, pero la diferencia de precios con el resto de la ciudad, me sorprendió muchísimo. Pedimos para comer unas mini chuletas de cerdo ibérico y un Angus rib y 2 aguas, y nos cobraron 135€, cuando en el restaurante ERA, que está a 50 metros del hotel, lo recomienda TripAdvisor, y nos costó un risotto exquisito, y 2 chuletones de angus de 1.200 gramos con guarnición de setas y verduras, más pan, más 2 aguas, más una Pepsi max, OJO 53€, de locura!!!! Y estaba todo muy bien, así que no se justifican los precios del hotel. El hotel es bonito?? Si!!!, es cómodo??? Si!!!, está prácticamente nuevo, lo inauguraron hace poco, pero eso no da derecho a que te cobren 5 veces más por comer en sus instalaciones, está a 1 km y medio o más de la plaza Skanderbeg y de todo lo que hay que visitar por la capital de Albania. It’s like returning to the 1960s staying at this hotel. Great location on the main square but that’s about it. Demand a room with a view over the square. However be aware that you will hear the call to pray early & late & other noises coming from the square. It says it’s a 4 star but I would suggest that’s a stretch. The rooms are small. I had two twin beds in my room. The bathroom has a bath/ shower combo which I dislike. The décor overall is old fashioned with a touch of Communist era finishes. A new Inter Continental is being built behind this hotel which will be a better alternative. There are only two English TV stations available. For an “international” hotel the wifi is appalling, slow and unstable. And there are no power points near the beds for your devises. The front desk staff are sullen & a bit off handed. The dinner meal was very average. Breakfast has a good selection of hot & cold food although the hot food is not very hot. Nice to sit out on the balcony overlooking the square.

Un hotel muy moderno. El personal era excepcionalmente amable, siempre a disposición del huésped. Destacar la ubicación cercana al centro de Tirana y las camas increíblemente cómodas. Totalmente recomendable si queréis visitar Tirana a un precio genial.

Nice little hotel located in a quiet neighbourhood near the Great Park Even if our room (”Ksamil”) was in fact in the basement of the building (nothing wrong with this, we knew it when we made the booking), it was very spacious and clean with a large, soft double bed and big bathroom. Very polite and helpful English-speaking staff. Parking lot behind the hotel has a limited capacity, but fortunately there weren't too many guests with cars, so we have managed to make the best use of it. It's a good idea to leave the car at the hotel and to go to the city center by taxi (on foot it takes at 30 - 40 minutes). It seems most taxi drivers aren't familiar either with this part of the town or the hotel itself, so you'll probably have to instruct them where to enter the maze of the little streets where the hotel is located (for a ride to or from Skanderbey Square expect to pay 350 - 400 ALL)

Super Hotel. In allen Punkten sehr zu empfehlen. Nicht direkt im Zentrum gelegen, aber verkehrsgünstig in Nähe vom Busbahnhof. Komplett neues Gebäude mit Top-Einrichtung. Komfortables Standard-Zimmer. Optimaler Schlafkomfort im breiten Doppelbett. Hochwertiges Bettzeug. Rooftop-Pool in der 8. Etage. Gym. Allerdings kein Spa-Center. Tolles Frühstück. Für unser Kleinkind gab es frisch zubereitete Extra-Speisen. Das Personal überaus zuvorkommend. Besser geht es nicht...!!!

As requested by receptionists I post the review- unfortunately it cannot be positive. We arrived on Thursday afternoon (SEP 8 2022). First of all we were disappointed by impolite service in the restaurant that we used twice- for the lunch and for the dinner. During the lunch we were served by the waitress (black pony-tailed hair) who was impolite, impatient and angry. She was confusing the price of house wine several times- once she was saying the price of 800 LEK, shortly after the price increased to 8000 LEK, then 800 LEK again and suddenly she showed her disapproval that we dare to ask of the price of house wine as ”it is so cheap as 80 EUR”. Maybe 80 EUR for the house wine is cheap for the well-paid waitress but we do not consider it to be adequate price. During the evening we were lucky not to be served by Her. Restaurant manager came, took the order and professionally delivered pastas and drinks we ordered. Then nightmare started again as angry, stressed and tired (the same) waitress came and stated that ”she does not know if / and what kind of/dessert is left and we can go to the other bar and ask them”. Seriously? You have desserts in the menu and when I ordered panna cotta and tiramisu I must go to different place to ask it it is still available? This is not a treatment I would expect in a cheap meat shop, not in an aspiring 4 star hotel. This situation forced me to write the review. Hotel itself is pathetic with urgent need of maintanence- in our room nr 101 shower hand holder was falling apart whenever I was trying to move it, fridge did not produce any cold, water did not drain from the bidet and shower gel was so small that was not enogh to take even one shower, for one person. Plenty of insects in the outside pool, water needs impovement too. There is plenty cheaper hotels literally a few steps away where price- quality ratio will be much more honest. And perhaps their staff will not treat the guests as intruders who dare to ask for the price of ”house wine that is that cheap as 80 EUR”. Atmosphere in Best Western Ark at Rinas Airport is dense and the staff treats the guests condescendingly. There are jumping around the people who come for a dinner well-dressed (pretending to be much posh than they really are) serving them free shots whereas ignoring the people who come in casual clothes and telling to go for the desserts elsewhere. It is really strange that from all the guests ordering from the same menu only some get special treatment, even free shots and the others are not even served properly. The staff should definitely improve English. For us Best Western proved again that they are below standards or their much better competitors.
