Hotel Parasol by Dorobe

Awful hotel If you must stay because it’s cheap don’t pay for any food, the food at the buffet was COLD and only just edible. I left without trying the breakfast. I was charged 1.5 Euros for a small cup of milk so I could make some tea only to find there’s no facilities in the room to do so

Das Hotel liegt zwischen Wohnblocks und es gibt eigentlich keine Infrastruktur. Am nicht so weit entfernten Strand gibt es genau eine Bar. Das Hotel ist schon älter, was wohl dazu führt, dass die Zimmer eher groß sind und es eine Badewanne gibt. Die Einrichtung ist nicht stilvoll und das Einzelbett ist sehr unbequem. Balkon war ok. Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig. Das Frühstück war mäßig. Kein Salchichon, kein Chorizo, keine Sobrasada und natürlich auch kein S*****en. Vollautomat vermutlich mit löslichem Kaffee, so dass es keinen Espresso gibt. Dem Frühstück entgeht man nicht, es ist immer enthalten. Den Preis von 44 Euro für dieses 3-Sternehotel empfinde ich als hoch. Im Sommer hat man Strand und Pool.

Definitely NOT a 4* hotel. Refurbished rooms are nicely decorated and modern. That's only positive point. Staff are not friendly or welcoming, if staying all inclusive as we were, they really can't be bothered with you. If queues at the bar,they serve paying customers before all inclusive,for example. Crappy small plastic cups if all inclusive for drinks.Not good selection or standard of food, very basic. We're not fussy eaters but had to eat out most days unless you want chicken nuggets,chips or sausages. Plenty of beds round the pool but they had to be the most uncomfortable sun beds I've ever lay on. Entertainment non existent unless you want to play bingo in Spanish. 2 minutes walk to the beach and a few bars and restaurants. Personally wouldn't recommend this hotel and definitely won't be back.

Jairol accommodated us very well he was a great host to bingo and really made the crowd laugh I would defiantly recommend him as a host he really interacted with the crowd the crowd and made everyone laugh constantly we were here for a week and he gave us the best of service

Really enjoyed the hotel for the week we were here. Francisco was lovely and kind throughout the whole trip and had no problem with any drink. Jairol kept us busy with games and bingo and kept the enjoyment through the night really made our holiday.

Very disappointed to begin it has not had a refurbishment and is not finished either as I was told in emails before confirming the booking (I booked direct). The only areas decorated are those shown in the pictures, the rest of the hotel is very very run down. It is not able to cater for English families or kids. Most of the kids programme that’s on the board is non existent and one of the animation team does not speak or engage with the English speaking kids. Rooms decorated but very small and all 4 people on single camp beds (not what is shown in the pictures). Food was basically the same each day but lots to choose from and lots of fresh salad. The pool bar and entertainment stage was a work in progress, so I hike into the hotel every time you want a drink by the pool, but apparently when it does open main bar will close so always only 1 bar open at a time There are no towels provided for the loungers and they are very uncomfortable plastic slotted loungers (I would imagine they are supposed to have a sponge layer over) with no tables or umbrellas provided. The Loungers are stacked and you’re supposed to lift your own off these are never hosed down and are dirty from last season. We had a couple of days at the beginning of the holiday with bad rain so looked for the tv and games room to be told they aren’t in use when we found they are being filled office workers for the hotel which made for a couple of tough days. The bar staff were lovely but at times under a lot of pressure because generally only 1 staff at a time. The pool looks unwelcoming with a fence around it, they opened part of it after I asked was it open as no one had used it, it ranges from 110-165cm and does not have a lifeguard The hotel is a perfect location to the beach, shops, train and bus services. Evening entertainment is bingo every night I did push my areas of concern and met with the manager Oliver who accepted my issues and is trying to make changes. Our friends were staying in a cheaper hotel just up puente real and this was more like a resort with kids entertainment all day, big stages, foam parties, music and just general atmosphere I was gutted when we called into their hotel to see the difference

Below average, not poor. Not a 4* This hotel is listed to be a 4*, I would call this aspirational at best. Some of their signage (the new stuff) has ****, whereas the information in guest bedrooms & on other signage (sugars) say 3*. So I'm a little perplexed how I was sold this as a 4*. I do not feel this hotel is a 4*, even with the illusion of "how it could be" when the current renovations are complete. - The grounds are way too small for room capacity, including the bar/entertainment space, outdoor space, and dining room. I can only imagine how overcrowded these spaces would be if the hotel was booked at capacity. Check in- The check in process was easy, yet emotionless/ bleak - no smiles, no welcome drink, just the room number and silly piece of paper which we were told to bring to EVERY dining experience (just take a photo, it's so much easier). The clocks behind check in clerk really need a new battery - considering how much work needs doing to the hotel, the little things i.e. a clock showing the right time really do go a long way. The aircon in my room didn't work, so the maintenance guy came up and confirmed it was broke, so we had to change room. No apologies/ condolences from front desk, I also paid more for a frontal sea view, the 2nd room had much worse view and no compensation was offered. Rooms - the rooms were fine, but not great or new feeling. Recently modernised, yet details missed. Our smoke alarm was covered in duct tape still from the recent paint job, and I'm pretty sure it was unusable because of this. We had 2 balcony chairs, other room same party had 1 & a very leaky shower and or toilet. 1 very thin pillow on bed, spare in wardrobe. Air con (once we switched room to one where it worked) had no temperature control - it was on, or off. The working shower was quite nice, however the people I travelled with had a very leaky shower and possibly toilet too. Lift - Please do not stay in this hotel if you struggle with stairs. The lifts are very old, and broke every day, including people being stuck in them between floors. They are also very small. Until they are replaced I would consider this a no zone for people who struggle with stairs, as the lift is simply too unreliable. Dining - The dining was not awful, but probably the worst "4*" all inclusive dining I have tried. Needs a second chef. The dinner is quite a hostile environment - the staff/ management walk around talking to each other with earpieces whilst staring at you dining, separate to the 'clean up crew', which was very strange and created the feeling of being watched. Lots of pork. The dining space is also very small and people were queuing for a table at peak times. It also took the chef a while to replenish the counter with fresh food, so there was often nothing of a certain item for several minutes - this was a regular occurrence with eggs at breakfast for example. Some of these reviews seem ridiculous. The hotel is great. I’m not saying it is fit for millionaires but for a family wanting a few days of chilling it appears to be perfect. Only been here a couple of days so far (will update if anything changes) but… ROOMS are fine. We have 2 bedrooms each with 2 singles. Large cupboard, decent balcony (though only 2 chairs) large bathroom and small hallway to dump bags and shoes. All clean. Lots of people moaning on here that it’s tired and outdated…. I won’t say ours is all hi-tech stainless steel and glass, but it’s absolutely fine, and nothing like “from the 50’s” that I read somewhere. Always clean. Most rooms seem to overlook the pool, and we could see the beach/sea too. HEAT was ok… I can’t stand overbearing heat but air con in room, and ceiling fan, and corridors were cool with lots of open windows creating a nice breeze. FOOD is good… again, not masterchef but perfectly good. Snacks and meals were all good, and never seemed overly busy nor queues. DRINKs were fine… help yourself to fizzy, beer, coffee, ice-cream, and the bar was never busy to get a vodka, etc. POOL wasn’t always as warm as we’d hoped in peak of summer, but fine. And clean. Not stupid busy even at end of July in UK school holidays… families and kids all seem pleasant and respectful, and no sign of the swarms of local kids taking over the pool (which has been mentioned in reviews). Area around pool doesn’t have as many sunbeds as I’d expect… only about 80 in total but we always managed to get 4 when we went down earlyish. No idea why they don’t get more though, as there’s tons of space between. Patio areas and outside bars all good. BEACH is a bit grey and dusty, and the sea was rather cold unfortunately, but nice enough and clean. Enjoyed it SO FAR… had been worried by people saying it they wouldn’t let their dogs go in, disgusting food, etc, but that really hasn’t been my experience nor do I believe those reviews can be quite real or balanced. Ignore the haters.
