DeSoto Beach Terraces

Location was amazing, right on the beach. View was partially obstructed by house in front of our house. House was ok but it was a little outdated. The rugs turned your feet black. Parking was rough. VERY TIGHT SPACE and hard to get into. Bed was comfy.

When my wife left to get groceries I think the maintenance people thought we were gone, and decided it was a great time to enter the premises we rented without our knowledge. I heard someone at the door and opened it up to see a work crew that I had no warning of ask if they could come in to drain the water out of the sprinkler system. They didn't identify themselves, or say if the owners knew they were there at all. I told them to leave which they did. I then complained about the situation to the front desk. Later the manager of the hotel called me and told me that they would come in the room whether I liked it or not. I decided to just let them do it since we had the room for another 2 nights at this point. I still wonder if I shouldn't have left to get my money back. I don't appreciate having to change my plans to accommodate people I don't know, or have any knowledge of entering a room I am staying at with my family and all of my belongings. I spent an hour waiting for them to come back and finish their work. All together I feel like I was cheated out of a vacation day at the beach that I had worked hard for, and paid a fair price to accommodate the work responsibilities of this hotel, and this unidentified work crew. The entire experience made us feel very unsafe, and unwelcome. Next time I will give my business elsewhere.

Beautiful and clean! Enjoyed our time. The A/C kept dripping because of the humidity but at least it worked the whole time we were there. Very friendly and courteous staff. We never complained about the A/C as it was a minor issue.
