Forget that super fancy, very expensive hotel next door. You know the one. Stay here instead. The Beverly Hills is fantastic, and the location can’t be beat. We could walk to restaurants and feel very safe. The boardwalk / beachfront was connected to the hotel property (with a security guard offering cold water upon our return). There’s free parking on site, and the pool area, with shaded lounge chairs, is upscale and relaxing. The breakfast options were so ample and varied that it took us several walk-throughs just to determine what we should have (or where we should start!). The room was very pleasant, with robes, nice linens, and a convenient patio with table and chairs for comfortable ocean and people watching. We also had a perfect view of the gorgeous lighthouse. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience, and the Beverly Hills gave us everything we wanted or needed at a much more reasonable rate than the Oyster place next door. We can’t recommend the Beverly Hills highly enough!

My husband and I have stayed at the Oyster Box many times when visiting family in Durban. We both agree that it is a world class hotel. The service is outstanding - truly 'best in class'. It's clear that all of the staff, no matter what their positions are, have been incredibly well trained from a customer service perspective. Our experience has always been magical. We had an Amazing experience at the Holiday Inn Express, Umhlanga. This has to be one of the best service I've experienced (local and international included). Wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this Establishment. Check in was awesome. Brendan and team were extremely Welcoming, Friendly and Efficient. We were settled into the room in no time as well as informed of all the amenities. We traveled as a group and the team helped us to get rooms close to each other which was so convenient. Breakfast was scrumptious and the service exceeded our expectations. Trisha and the team take their work and service to customers so seriously - like it's their own company. My son wanted Chocolate muffins and they baked it specially for him - how amazing is that! We were leaving early to the airport and Trisha offered to have breakfast ready from 5am - was so impressed and grateful. This has to be one of the best hotels across the world. Kudos to the team and leadership. Highly recommend anyone to not hesitate to book here. Thanks so much guys

Hotel is in a fantastic location! The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean but I'm not so sure about the pool. The water looked clean.. just the floor of the pool was off-putting. I was a bit disappointed I didn't have a fridge in my room. Maybe larger rooms have them? During loadshedding hours, everything is still powered. The wifi was great! Overall, its a lovely hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

Anchor’ s Rest is perfectly located, walking distance to the beach promenade with the lighthouse on one side and the little Forest Cafe in the other, cozy, friendly decorated and a little bit of Italian style, felt very welcome and enjoyed the pool and the honesty bar, it was really hot, Peter took care that we have everything we need to feel comfortable, very nice to stay in walking distance to Main Street with all the restaurants, enjoyed the stay so much, thanks for recommending Alwi’ s Drift Sauvignon Blanc, was my favorite on the whole trip, thanks again for the warm welcome and all the comfort in your house, highly recommended, Thomas & Birgit
