Hotel berhampiran Valkenhof di Valkenburg

Mooi vrij nieuw hotel. Helaas geen welkomstdrankjes ontvangen, wat toch normaal is. Mooie kamer. Geen mogelijkheid om ergens de koffers op te leggen dan op de grond. We zijn niet zo oud, maar toch wel wat beperkt. Dus maar op het bureau gelegd met als extra ondersteuning de stoel. Ruimte genoeg voor een kofferkruk of iets dergelijks. Nu kwamen we vrij laat in de regen aan. Had het niet eens in de gaten, omdat er wat auto’s stonden dat we de auto niet voor de deur hadden mogen laten staan. Is ook niet naar gevraagd. Inmiddels 10 dagen verder en ook geen punten ontvangen. Dit is niet wat ik gewend ben van accor en kom er al velen jaren als silver of gold member, dus weet waar ik over spreek.

Service was goed. Kamer compleet. Ontbijt goed verzorgd en ruime keus. Helaas hadden wij de Kamer boven de Irish Pub. Dat is knap waardeloos. Tot 4.00 uur geen oog dicht gedaan. Ondanks ramen dicht ventilator aan, ook geen airco, en was erg warm....Deze kamers boven de pub zouden eigenlijk nuet gebruikt moeten worden......

A fairly basic hotel, 10 minutes by car from Maastricht. The room was adequate. We had chosen, at a slight premium, for a bigger room, which it was. The bed was a bit on the soft side. Carpet had seen better days. Most likely some decades ago. Bathroom was the same. Everything worked, but quite outdated. Breakfast was okay-ish. Very frequent refills, but quality wise nothing to write home about. Staff is very friendly. Parking lot of the hotel is not easy to find when coming from the direction of Maastricht. Parking lot was also full. Good thing there is a huge parking lot across the street. The main problems: Staff leaves at 10pm. The front door is locked from the on. Which is not an issue as you are given a key. But the elevator also get switched off. Which becomes an issue in case you are not abke to use the stairs. This piece of information is not on the website. I had requested a room either on ground level or acces by elevator, but only found out after check-in that I could not use the elevator after 10pm. An email would have been nice to let me know that I would need to be in my room before that time. The noise. This hotel is old, and noisy (hence turning off the elevator at night). Earplugs are available/in clear view at the front desk. Which should tell you how often this is an issue. During our stay the couple in the room above us thought a 2am shouting match was appropriate. It was not. I’m glad we were able to book the room at a serious discount. Otherwise the rating would have been much lower. I don’t think we will come back.

Pro - Nice beds, but is was a twin bed, so you had a split between the two beds - nice rain shower - good selection of breakfast in nearby La Place including children’s playground - free parking Con -No soap tray - Water leaks a bit into the bathroom floor - Not all rooms had tea cups - choose for rooms at the air side other rooms are right next to highway

This is the first time we have stayed in a property in this price range that was badly antiquated, poorly run, and lacked any modern management that we wanted to escape almost directly after checking in. We should have been more conscious honestly after reading the TA reviews as the management apparently only responds to positive reviews but never to negative ones....a clear sign there is a lack of any accountability or leadership in a property honestly. Beyond the poor communications in advance of our stay we have to say that the rooms have not been refurbished since the 1970s at best and were stuffy, dark, and kind of sad honestly to the point where we worried about sticking to something. While some of the junior staff were friendly enough, the communication with management was poor and when we asked how we could best accomodate the needs of our children, we were simply told that one could sleep in our bed and they could set up a crib for the other child....at a rental cost of 15 euro a day!!!!! In my decades of traveling I have not ever found a single 4 star property that charged a daily rate on using a baby crib in a room and in general this left us the rather pressing feeling that families are not welcome here! Otherwise, if you are taking a train to Maastricht it is an ideal location as the hotel is located almost directly next to the train station and the noise is not so bad at night. In general though, this property felt like an obsolete dinosaur with no central leadership or accountability to its guests. The sad fact though is that with one of the Netherland's best hospitality schools based within the city limits, this poor service could easily be remedied we argued with some fresh blood and investment, but instead it looks like the owners just want to rest on the Amrath's accolades (and its presumed '4 stars') from yesteryear. A true pity and waste of money these days especially in such a hospitable city as Maasstricht where the Crowne Plaza nearby is clean, well run, and equally convenient.

COVID-19 has caused us all one way or another losses and hardship but to find a hotel like easyHotel Maastricht City Centre makes me contribute to recovering their losses is not expected and unfair. Booking.com made the reservation with easyHotel Maastricht in November 2019 before COVID-19 arrived, for 2 nights in July 2020 as we were attending an Andre Rieu concert which was then postponed. I followed the directions and recommendations of the ECC Net to act in good faith with contributing to the survival of suppliers, however easyHotel sadly didn’t follow the Unfair Contract Terms Directive 93/13/EEC and Pursuant to Book 6, article 265 of the Dutch Civil Code. The concert was rescheduled to July 2021 and Booking.com did reschedule the hotel dates however COVID-19 again cancelled the concert and the concert was changed to July 2022 but Booking.com didn’t answer my requests and I had no option but to contact easyHotel which did reschedule the date.but now my wife has had to have chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. The treatment was in October 2021 and expected to be completed in December 2021 and we still planned to come to the Netherlands after receiving all her previous and current vaccines but in May the hospital told us that she was immunocompromised and despite receiving three COVID-19 vaccines and would still need hospital treatment plus it was too dangerous to travel due to COVID-19. The concert couldn’t transfer the tickets to July 2023 and offered a refund but easyHotel couldn’t change the date and refused to refund. Even when I had found a couple who were wanting to take over the reservation, a day before the reservation, easyHotel didn’t reply to an email I'd sent until mid afternoon of the day of the booking, too late for the couple as they had found another hotel Let something positive come out of this virus and support the hotels, travel insurances and other business that followed the guidelines by working with their customers and report business and hotels like easyHotel and Booking.com which feel that travellers should pay for their losses and can’t be trusted to do the right thing. Also didn’t receive any help after requesting a voucher from Booking.com. My initial flights from Australia to the Netherlands for 2 was AU$2500 in 2020 and this year now costs about AU$8200 so we have losses too but I don’t expect easyHotel to pay for it. Anyone who have still not received a refund from easyHotel or easyHotelbenelux and is interested to commence a class action please message me. Please help travellers by adding your hotel to the list. It's been some time since I visited a hotel where there was absolutely nothing to improve. But Chateau St. Gerlach was a perfect hotel. We booked a 2 room appartment and the appartment was roomy and cozy and most of all clean and complete. One living room on the ground floor and 2 bedrooms upstairs. Nice bathrooms with men and women grooming bags. Nice soft beds, and the price proved excellent value for money. We enjoyed a great breakfast and the staff was very proactive, very helpful. The hotel has excellent spa and swimming pool facilities, a church on the hotelground that is breathtakingly beautiful. The location could not be better. The grounds of the hotel are big but well kept, and surrounding the hotel are the hills of Valkenburg and some great walking areas. And I was not the only one who was excited, my wife and my family were equally thrilled. I think if you really wanna treat yourself when you are in the south of the Limburg province in Holland this is definitally the place to be. I think this venue will be in my personal top 5 of best hotels I ever slept in. A 100% recommendation by yours truely. Can't wait to return to this hotel in the future.

Als je kiest voor een arrangement , dus inclusief ontbijt en het zogenaamde drie gangen diner, moet je niet het beste verwachten van hun . Allereerst kregen wij een kamer op de eerste etage, precies boven de ingang .. heel erg rumoerig en de schuifdeur die de hele avond/nacht open gaat, is gewoon in de kamer hoorbaar. De slechtste kamer van het hotel, terwijl er nog zat kamers beschikbaar waren. Het zogenaamde drie gangen menu stelt niks voor en is erg weinig. Bovendien had de kok geen zin om de sinaasappelbavarois te maken en kregen wij gewoon diepvriesoesjes van de supermarkt met een laagje chocoladesaus overheen..vreselijk ! Ook het voorgerecht was waardeloos en bestond uit een zogenaamde champignonsoep met zes sprietjes tauge en twee champignons.. Ik voelde mij erg beledigd dat dit mij aangeboden werd..! Dat ze dát durven te serveren is schandalig..! We mochten alleen maar op een bepaalde plek in het restaurant zitten, omdat wij een arrangement hadden en werden zo een beetje als t****erangs gasten behandeld.. Dit is heel erg slecht ! De kelners zijn niet gastvrij en vriendelijk , ik beveel ze een cursus aan bij hun collega's van het van der Valk Hotel. Verder was het ontbijt prima, gewoon standaard zoals overal, maar zodra je iets extra's bestelt,zul je bedrogen uitkomen. Ik had een arrangement betaald voor 3 dagen van 335€ en zal dit dus nooit meer doen.
