BEWARE of this hotel. I am currently having the worst hotel stay of my life and would leave early if I could. This morning I noticed that my bag full of medications, contact lenses, inhaler, etc. is missing. I leave it in the same exact spot at every hotel I stay at so I always know where it is when I need to get into it. I flag down the employee who was in the room last. She says she remembers the bag but did not take it or throw it away. Ok, then where is it?!? Three employees searched the small room and it is nowhere to be found. I ask if they have cameras, which they say they do have. A manager advised only the room attendant has access to the room. Ok, then she probably accidentally threw it away, thinking it was trash and she doesn't want to admit it happened. I understand an accident. The manager says the room attendant did nothing with the bag and insists I did something with it. Now, why would I report a missing bag, just because? And waste vacation time? I don't think so. I'm absolutely stunned and appalled that the manager accused me of misplacing it after three people looked for it. They will not reimburse me for the missing items, either because there is ”no proof.”. I am disgusted with this hotel. If you want to be accused of misplacing your own things when they were taken, then this is the place for you. And by the way, there is no rooftop seating. The picture with all the tables, chairs, and rooftop bar? Yeah, none of that exists. And if your room doesn't come with breakfast and you want to eat there, they make you pay for your entire stay up front, even if you don't make it to breakfast on some days. The food is terrible, so don't fall for the sales pitch. There are other, amazing places you can grab breakfast.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. The room was modern and clean. The construction of the room was not very good, in the morning you could hear people coughing and flushing the toilet in the next room. The indoor pool was dirty and the spa was cold- the jets were spraying cold water. In the middle of the day, maintenance decided to demolish something in the room next door which made a lot of noise, had to call them three times before the noise was stopped. In general very noisy hotel for two reasons; no1. constant drafts which made the room doors slam. No2 a big group of youth which were running an talking loudly in the corridors until midnight. Overall the location of the hotel is very good, but if you want to have a quiet relaxing holiday this is not the place.

Hotel is located in downtown. The nearly is a lot of evenings possibilities for drinking bars, or discotheques and so on. This hotel is not recommended for longer stay, or quite place. Rooms are standard equipped. Hotel has no swimming pool. Breakfast was delicious, only service was very slowly and complicated due to Covid-19’s measures.

I was very happy that they treated me kindly and courteously without showing any dislike at all, even though my understanding of English was not good at all.

Posizione impeccabile con un rapporto qualità/prezzo ottimo. Mi è piaciuta la disponibilità del personale che, tra le altre cose, ci ha offerto un upgrade gratuito della stanza a causa di un disguido in quella a noi originariamente assegnata (senza che lo avessimo richiesto). Servizio di deposito bagagli gratuito il giorno della partenza per poter girare in libertà anche dopo il check-out. Check-in anticipato così da poter portare in camera le nostre cose appena arrivati. L'unica cosa che non ho apprezzato a pieno è l'organizzazione della colazione. Di per sè il concept è bello, colazione tipica maltese servita sul tetto. Purtroppo, in assenza di chiusure, si dipende troppo dal meteo, infatti, i primi 2 giorni del nostro soggiorno, il meteo era uggioso e ventoso, quindi non ci siamo goduti a pieno né il cibo né la vista (abbiamo mangiato di fretta, cose tiepide o fredde). In secondo luogo lo spazio disponibile non è adeguato, a mio modo di vedere, per gestire un buffet. Suggerirei di togliere il buffet e richiedere agli ospiti di compilare ogni sera una lista di ciò che vogliono per il giorno dopo, indicando l'orario indicativo di arrivo a colazione in maniera tale che al proprio tavolo si trovi già tutto pronto e caldo senza bisogno di alzarsi ed intralciarsi con gli altri, creando imbarazzo. Ho visto applicare questa modalità con successo in un BestWestern 4* in Italia.

A rustic hotel with all the mod cons and old charms that you want. Myself and my wife stayed for 4 nights last week and although it’s not a 24 hour reception the host was constantly on to me for the days leading up to our visit checking if we needed anything and sent videos for the location and how to enter the property on our arrival which happened to be after midnight. Also organised a car to collect us from the airport. Constant contact and making sure we didn’t want for anything. A five star service for our whole visit. Location is perfect. A stones throw from the cathedral and central to all amenities and tourist attractions. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by.

Magnifique hôtel . Tout était parfait . La chambre est très propre , la piscine à l'étage est superbe . La spa est très grand . Le personnel est attentionné . Le quartier est animé donc on entend de la musique mais cela ne dérange pas .
