Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel

Venice|0.56km dari La Bottega del Tartufo
What an incredible experience we had at the Palazzo Venart! The hotel was magical and the staff were as kind and helpful as can be. To start, we arrived at night via the water bus (”Vaporetto”) from the Venice Airport. It was a pleasant ride but nearly pitch black. On arriving at the stop for the hotel (San Stae), the streets were dark and dead quiet with a large old church fronting the Vaporetto stop. It is not an area overrun by tourists or with nearby businesses open late. Like stepping back in time to a quieter time. A brief walk (2 minutes max) from the water taxi, because there are no cars on the island of Venice, and the hotel appeared in a narrow walkway (Calle Tron) out of a fairy tale behind a courtyard and large classic wrought iron gate with the modern touch of a call system with camera. When the door opened, we got the first taste of the staff, Hamid, who retrieved our bags with alacrity and a smile and friendly look on his face as if to say, ”of course we are taking your bags!” On entering the hotel, Mihaela greeted us so warmly and began explaining our stay and amenities to us, offering a few suggestions for Venice, and in general giving us the feeling that only a boutique luxury hotel with great staff can offer. Our room was several floors up, very well appointed and very quiet. For a good part of our early spring stay, rain added to the magic of Venice both from our room and from its stone streets. Amazing. Our breakfasts were incredible. First, the serving staff are lovely. We received outstanding service on all of our days from Alessandro, and Andrei was wonderful as well. I neglected to get another gentleman's name, but he was very good to us as well! The food was amazing. Except for one small room service, we only had breakfast. But it was all exquisitely prepared. The hotel also boasts a Michelin 2-star restaurant...the only one in Venice!! You have your breakfast in the same space overlooking an internal garden. When enjoying their perfect eggs, delicate fruit cut as if by a laser, the best cappuccinos we had in a 9-day Italy trip, fresh local fruit juices, and other delights such as Easter Colomba bread, you could tell that the meals were prepared by people who cared and were experts at their craft. We thanked the chef for his artistry and leadership once, and he responded with such an unexpected show of gratitude and appreciation for the praise...we could see how much food means to him. On the second day of our stay, Luana, the general manager greeted us so warmly by name and inquired about our stay. We saw her multiple times throughout our stay, always asking us how it was going and with a beaming smile. She has every reason to smile given the beautiful and accommodating operation she runs so well! Giacomo was an outstanding concierge! He made sure we got into St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace, obtained an amazing last-minute private tour of Venice for us at a reasonable price, and helped us obtain outstandin

My husband and I stayed here in May, we had the worst experience ever! We were given the room right next to the lobby. As the receptionist was explaining to us how to open the door to our room, I noticed there was a huge gap at the bottom of the room door ( between door and floor) . I told the receptionist that the gap was an issue because of the noise and lack of privacy , especially since the entrance to our room was in the lobby. She assured me that there wouldn't be any noise after 8 PM because thats the time the lobby closed. I told her this room wouldn't work for us because of the lack of privacy ( anyone in the lobby would be able to hear us) and that we would like to stay in a different room. She proceeded to tell us that all rooms were booked and accounted for ( which was untrue because we were relatively early for check-in and we witnessed at least 3 other couples checking in). After expressing my dissatisfaction, I figured I would try to make the best of it and enjoy Venice; however when trying to turn the TV on-to check out the weather and distract myself a bit from the issues - the TV did not work at all, I went next door and complained about the TV not working. The receptionist said the TV had broken two weeks ago and it would be fixed in a couple of weeks ( not even a sorry!) . The bathroom was tiny, unclean, and we had to walk through an unfinished closet to get to it. At the end of the evening when my husband and I got back from a night out we realized there were only a few squares of toilet paper left in the bathroom, at that point the receptionist was gone and toilet paper was nowhere to be found. I looked all over our room and around the reception area, finally found a small toilet behind the reception area, so had to take a roll of toilet paper from there. Oh boy, we would have been in trouble the following morning without TP! We had to ask for packets of instant coffee every morning because that is all they provided in the room, and they only gave us one ( the day we got there). To top it off , we had to put the kettle in the floor to plug it in and use it!! There were no outlets on the counter. Our room was not cleaned. We were cold at night. It was raining and cold and we had no access to heat. When we complained, the attendant said no hotels in Venice had functioning heaters after May 1st. It was a rule. We had a cold couple of nights....brrrrr. Lastly, on checkout, we did speak to the manager, who assured us we would be refunded 100 Euros for all our troubles. He told us to e-mail him our bank account info and he would personally take care of the refund. We trusted him but didn't hear back or get a response to the e-mails I sent ( mind you, I had him confirm he received my e-mail before we left the lobby). When we got back to the States a week and a half later, I spoke to the manager again, he asked me to re-send my e-mail with bank info and he would refund us the 100 Euros. Nothing.....called again two wee

Just come back from a 3 night break in Venice staying here. The place is amazingly located, quiet but very central to the main areas including Rialto. The room itself was perfect for what we required with a comfy bed, and had an amazing shower. The only small negative was the room was quite warm and stuffy and slightly dark as no outlook only onto a wall of the building opposite. But it was quiet and peaceful considering so close to Main Street from station. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient. We didn’t have breakfast but you can pay extra for this. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others. Great stay thank you x

Went for fine dining experience after seeing the hotel on a gondola ride and loving the outdoor seating. The restaurant outdoor seating is beautiful, and set right on the grand canal therefore a lonely atmosphere to eat a nice meal in. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helped us choose the wine with expert knowledge of the local grapes and varieties. The food was absolutely delicious but on the very pricey side. Nice as a treat.

Didn’t stay here but had a meal at lunch time. The spaghetti bolognese was incredible and very reasonably priced! It was away from the busy streets and was a lovely atmosphere. The inside was a little bit dated but would definitely recommend.

Arrived just after 12:15 and told they didn't think our room was ready and check in should be at 2pm, they have a luggage store so no problem, checked in anyway and another chap checked in the meantime and said our room was ready and we could go up. The same guy then showed us where the breakfast room, billiards room, bar, patio with pool and then to the lifts. He took the cases into the lift and sent us up. Room was brilliant. Large double bed, good sized bathroom with walk in shower, towels and toiletries. Upstairs a small seating area with couch and 2 chairs. Outside a small wooden terrace with table and two more chairs. Breakfast next day was standard European fare, and kept filled by the staff. During the week we spent there, the staff were always smiling and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Several good bars with a 2 minute walk and several decent restaurants. They organised a water taxi for our journey back to the airport. I'd like to separate out one individual for special mention.....but I can't, they are all wonderful. Location is good, quiet street, but within a short walk of the major attractions. If you've read any of the negative reviews on TA, it's safe to ignore them.
