Es hat sich Einiges verändert seit wir vor 8 Jahren da waren. Statt ONYX-BAR gibt es jetzt ein Restaurant. Auch das Frühstücksbuffett ist abgeschafft. Die Zimmer gefallen mir immer noch sehr gut, nur den Wasserfleck an der Decke hätte man mitrenovieren können. Manko war das dazugestellte dritte Bett, eher Modell Feldbett. Die Verbrauchsartikel wurden immer wieder aufgefüllt, sodass wir jederzeit Kaffee machen konnten. Das habe ich sehr geschätzt.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. From the moment we checked in, with a welcome drink and a great conversation with Dominic who gave us lots of tips tips and recommendations - to the incredible hotel room, just wow. They have really thought about every little detail, the interiors were beautiful, the bed was huge and so comfortable with the most amazing headboard. Beautiful big windows and a gorgeous view. Fluffy robes, a waterfall shower plus lots of mirrors and a vanity table. We also had drinks in the restaurant which was a very popular spot and again finished so beautifully. In addition to the above; the location perfect. Couldn’t recommend more

The duvet, the mattress protectors and the pillows are just the best. My teenage daughter did not want to get out of bed at all. The staff, especially the breakfast Staff were absolutely amazing. IRISH TEA!!. ! I’ve never had breakfast like that before in my life and obviously the free wine absolute bonus. I had asked three times at check in to clarify. Being Irish this was amazing I could’ve stayed in the hotel, the whole whole time. Oh the rain shower and Molton Brown products. Very high class hotel. OMG the roof top bar with complimentary cocktails

A family member found this hotel for seven of us and it was a brilliant choice for location. What was nice was they gave us the four rooms all together in a side wing and all the rooms were really large. We had a large separate lounge area which led to the bedroom and a lovely bathroom. The only thing I missed was tea/coffee making facilities, there was cups in the cupboard but that was it. We opted to have room only rather than bed and breakfast as we felt it was pricey and wouldn't really get value for money as we would have to eat quite a lot to get your moneys worth and some of us eat light first thing. We are glad we made this decision as literally two minutes from the hotel door is an excellent place where it suits all requirements serving hot breakfasts, fresh fruit and yogurts, cereal, croissants etc and very reasonably priced. We had planned to eat at different venues each morning but as this suited us all so well we ate there everyday except one day it was closed due to a national holiday there but there are plenty of places close by. If we go back I would do the same again this hotel and eat out for breakfasts.

Wow!! We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a superior suite. We had an incredible view of the city and Belvedere palace. Even if we had not been upgraded, our stay would have been wonderful!! The hotel is beautiful. The wellness facility is great. We used the sauna several times during our stay. The hotel had a variety of snacks and beverages available in the lobby. The workers at the front desk were delightful! They were incredibly helpful, kind, and hospitable. Our bed was two twins pushed together which did not bother us. Our room had many big windows which let in lots of natural light. The location worked well for us. I can not say enough good things about this hotel. We were so saddened that we had to leave! I highly, highly recommend.

I've been staying at Pension City since 1991 when I came to Vienna for a 5 month extended stay after college, and have always come back to stay here ever since. Back then I stayed in a small but perfectly appointed twin room at a price affordable enough for five months. Now I get to bring my partner and kid and friends to stay in some of the larger rooms right in the center of old Vienna. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The rooms are a great size, the bathrooms small but efficient, great water pressure in the showers, towel warmers for cold mornings, windows that open wide onto the city (something you can't find in the US anymore). The rooms are like Vienna - modern living with an old world heart. A few specifics worth pointing out - - You can't get any closer to the city center for this price. Literally a handful of steps to Stephansplatz and the city center. - The restaurant in the same building - Wrenkh - is one of the loveliest in the city. I've also been coming here since 1991! They've been doing sustainable farm to table cooking since long before it was in fashion. - All the great coffee houses are moments away on foot (Hawelka use maybe 5 mins to walk to). Same for the best schnitzel (Figlmuller and Reinthaler's also 5 mins on foot). - Their management and staff are a DREAM to work with. We communicated via WhatsApp leading up to our stay, which was incredibly helpful as there were two families staying in three rooms, and being able to talk live was so helpful. We were also able to chat during our stay on a few small things that needed attention (one of the toilets was having an issue, which they immediately fixed for us while we were out). - There is a small fridge in each room full of free water which is a lovely touch. Since covid, breakfast does not come with the room - which just means you get to enjoy from a million wonderful spots in the city ;-) In terms of areas for improvement, the only one I'd share is that it would be nice for the twin beds, when joined to become a larger bed for a couple, to be actually joined together so they can't move apart. This is a very small thing to fix and certainly very easy to work around. I have enjoyed three decades in this place and my kid, now a teenager, has just had her first decade of visits. And we're already planning our next trip back ♥️

Man kan ikke bo mere sentralt i Wien, men rommet og frokosten trakk helheten ned; Det var vannkoker på rommet, men for förste gang opplevde vi at man måtte betale for te og kaffe!! Det var ikke utlufting på badet, og dårlig lukt om dören ble lukket. Dessuten var det dusj kun i badekaret - ingen god lösning for eldre mennesker. Vi spiste 4 frokoster, og bröd og rundstykker var ikke helt ferskt noen av dagene.

Nous sommes allés passer 4 nuits dans cet hôtel à l'ambiance de pension de famille. La chambre était vaste, luxueusement décorée, bien équipée, et très propre ainsi que la salle de bain et les sanitaires. Des produits d'accueil très joliment emballés y sont mis à disposition. L'accueil et le personnel sont sympathiques et le service efficace. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est varié, abondant et très bon. La décoration des parties communes de l'hôtel est également très travaillée. Seule ombre au tableau : la médiocre isolation phonique des vieilles fenêtres, même si elle sont doublées comme c'est le cas dans les maisons traditionnelles des régions froides. Notre chambre donnait sur la rue pavée étroite à l'arrière de l'hôtel, qui est une parfaite caisse de résonance. Impossible d'échapper au roulement de tonnerre des poubelles sur les pavés à l'aube lors de la collecte journalière. Néanmoins, ce désagrément possible est signalé clairement sur le site et, si l'on n'oublie pas les boules Quiès ou si l'on est habitués à dormir dans des environnements sonores, ce ne sera pas un gros problème. Malgré ça, nous recommandons chaudement cet hôtel idéalement situé en centre-ville à proximité des commerces, des transports et de sites touristiques intéressants.

The location of the hotel is great, as it’s walking distance to a lot of Viennas most visited sites and also a close distance from the subway, which can take you further out from the city centre. The room was also good, although a bit small, but no real complaint, just an observation. What brings this hotel down is the breakfast. There’s nothing done right in there. The coffee is bad (which I don’t get, because they have a fancy espresso machine up front, but they get the coffee from the back?!), the scrambled eggs are bad, the juice is bad… Everything just feels cheap and without any thought. With a better breakfast, this would be a really really good hotel. A bit of a shame.
