Great experience. Enjoyed the friendly chats in the morning and the room was so comfortable. My husband and I stayed in the restoration suite which was perfect for us with ample closet and drawer space. Very good sized bathroom. The breakfast consisted of instant oatmeal, yogurts and cookies or muffin tops. Not a bed and breakfast fare but perfect for us as we wanted to head right out the door in the morning. Chips and cookie snacks along with tea and coffee in the dining area. The best part ---- location! We parked the car and didn't need it again till we left. The Colonial area was a 10 minute walk and a 15 minute walk to the art museum. Plenty of restaurants and ice cream parlors all around! Can't wait to go back.

Wife and I Stayed over the Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our recent anniversary. We have stayed at most of the Historic Williamsburg hotels and this one several times in the past. We love the historic area and it is so nice to be close and be able to walk around the area and to Merchant square without having to search for parking on a busy weekend. The Lodge is very nice and the rooms well appointmented and decorated. This weekend we paid over $400 per night. The most consistent and disappointing problem we encounter every time we stay is the mattresses are terrible. This weekend was no different as it was a king bed which sagged deeply in both sleeping sides and gave little to no support. My wife and I both developed back pain after the first night and it only got worse the second. Again we have stayed at most of the properties in the historic area and even the colonial houses and this has more often than not been a problem. I think they just don't switch out the mattresses for new ones often enough and they get very worn and uncomfortable. We love the historic area very much and always enjoy our walks through the area, but this might be the last time we stay at a colonial property. You would think being a Marriott property it would be better now, but it is not.

The Manager at this hotel was wonderful. My wife left her clothes in the drawers by mistake. We found out when we got home and unpacked our luggage. She called the manager and he was so kind. He went up to our room and got the clothes and used UPS to deliver them back to us. I can't say enough good things about his generosity and willingness to go the extra mile for his customers. Our stay was also great. The room and the breakfasts were great. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

I stayed at this hotel before and I was disappointed. I came here again because I am with Choice Hotel Rewards and thought to give it another chance. What I can say this time was; hot water for my tub constant and constant working Wi-Fi. Overall since my last review on this hotel I can say I am satisfied. My room was clean and spacious, hot water, Wi-Fi working, so I was pleased. Also location is great for downtown Williamsburg, you can walk there in under 30 minutes. For the price of the hotel and location, you can't beat. Also, there is a pancake house restaurant across the street for breakfast, excellent breakfast place.

Because we enjoy golf, this was an excellent place to stay. We golfed the gold course twice and the green once. We enjoyed a few meals at the course as well. The timing for the other on site restaurants didn’t match our needs. The staff is very polite and helpful. Everyone greats you as you explore the grounds. It was nice staying in the center of Williamsburg and having that open access. I would have enjoyed a pool with the hotel, though, instead of a shared property pool.

Not the worst but not absolutely amazing either. Lobby was pretty but the rest didnt match up to how it looked. Some things were pretty dated and the lighting in our room was pretty dim in some areas. Most of my annoyance was due to inconsiderate guests who like to be loud, slam doors or smoke right at the entrance to where the smell comes into the hall. The pool was warm and jacuzzi was nice. Just wish they had replenished the pool towels instead of having baskets full of used ones. The staff was incredibly friendly and having warm breakfast options was nice. The bed was comfy and the location was perfect for what where we needed to go. Laundry machines also had an option to pay through an app so no coins were needed (yay!) Vending machines offered a good variety of snacks and oddly enough seemed less expensive than convenience stores. I would stay here again, but maybe request a room not on the first floor or get one away from the back of the building. The trash truck showed up right behind our room at 5:20am which startled my kid out of sleep.
